A podcast about the media, presented by two hot, hot boys with some hot, hot takes.
See the description of the previous episode for my explanation of why this is structured the way it is. It's a deliberate stylistic choice. Every aspect of this podcast is a result of a very considered approach. If you think something is bad then clearly you didn't understand what I was going for and you should feel bad about yourself, to be quite honest. Erin does good art! Buy it! Erin does good art! Buy it! I screwed up the recording at the start of this episode and was too embarrassed to mention it, but I think the start suits the tone of the show anyway, so I left it. I also stopped recording halfway through by accident and restarted it, but I have decided to put each half out separately, again, as a stylistic choice. The fact that it is 3:35am as I write this description is irrelevant. I have also decided to change the format and release schedule, because I have assignments to do and I have already done twenty-one of these. I doubt anybody has listened to all twenty-one. The point of doing them that frequently was building up a back catalogue. I am capable of smashing out assignments very quickly but I'm in third year and it's probably more obvious than it was. I wrote a short story about the Walter Taylor Bridge in six or seven hours the other week but afterwards I kept having better ideas. You can read it if you want, I might submit it to the QLD Young Writers Award after heavy revisions. Erin's Twitter Erin's Facebook Erin's Instagram Joel's Twitter Joel's Facebook Joel's Instagram
20! Taylor Edwards is my guest, she is funny on here and also in all the other things she's doing. She & Chris Martin will soon be launching a podcast called Binge Minute, so look out for that. Taylor's Facebook Taylor's Instagram Joel's Twitter Joel's Facebook Joel's Instagram

This one was recorded a little closer to the release date than the last few. There are microwave and dish noises in the background of the call but it's all part of the charm. I think I forgot to actually introduce the show, but if you go listen to another episode you can hear what the introduction is meant to be. Josh does comedy, and music with Joy in Motion. This one was recorded before episode 12 with Mickey Flykick but I screwed up the order. It doesn't matter really. Nobody would even realise if I hadn't said here. Josh's Instagram Joel's Twitter Joel's Facebook Joel's Instagram
Jack Marsho does a podcast called Beer Shark, and you can find his music under the name Brightwater. Machocast on Facebook Jack's Instagram Jack's Twitter Joel's Twitter Joel's Facebook Joel's Instagram
Mickey Flykick co-hosts a podcast called Ain't It Rich, which delves into the insane things rich people do. On this episode of Stir-Crazy, we talk about some of the political aspects of this, including the council elections. Also if any of my relatives listen to this I have never keyed a car nor do I currently have any intention of doing so. This is the first episode of Stir-Crazy, a limited series (depending how long all this goes for) of podcasts where I, Joel Batham, check in on my friends who are limiting their interactions with the outside world to some extent. This one is with Jack Gramenz. I don't introduce the guest at the start of most of these, but the names are in the title, it's not that hard! This is the first episode of a new run of One Woke Boy, a podcast about the media. Hi Two Woke Boys/One Woke Boy listeners, my new podcast is out now, and the relevant links can be found here. Just thought I'd throw the first one up on this feed as well. This is the first episode of Cook Blub, a podcast about books, hosted by Joel Batham, a Brisbane comedian who can both read AND write. This episode features fellow Brisbane comedian Jack Gramenz, executive producer of The Lucas Warmtake Half Hour. We begin with our recent reading histories, and Rick Morton's One Hundred Years of Dirt is discussed in some detail. Our main book this week is Get Poor Slow by David Free, his debut crime novel. You can find The Lucas Warmtake Half Hour through Jack's social media accounts, or just search on your podcast app, it's a distinctive name. On our next episode my guest, Ryan Sim, and I discuss George Saunders' story collection, Tenth of December. It's most likely available at your library. Episodes are fortnightly. In this episode, Joel brings in recurring guest Ryan Sim to DEEPLY and EXPERTLY analyse Bob Katter's speech to parliament about the same sex marriage vote. Facebook Twitter Joel's Twitter Ryan's Twitter Check out Ryan's podcast, our sister show, Everything You Like Is Bad.
This episode hits all the big issues, like Kevin Spacey, a continued exploration of roof meat, vaccines, minor parties, and the horniness of Andre 3000. Important information - the thing James says about Akon appears to not be true, so ignore that. Facebook Twitter Joel's Twitter
Joel is joined for the first episode in a long time by return guests Sam Bowden and David Woodhead. Ryan Sim was scheduled to appear but he was too busy doing laundry. This episode, curated and produced by Grace Jarvis (she just sent a bunch of articles to read), is a less structured conversation delving into lonely snails, photo pranks, roof meat, bee venom, and also Harvey Weinstein. Facebook Twitter Joel's Twitter Check out our sister show, "Everything You Like is Bad", hosted by Ryan Sim.
After a long period of inactivity, this clip from Padre's Comedy Bunker is being posted.

Joel is joined by Matt Ford and first time guest Jacob Lingard, discussing copyright infringement, beer logos and more.

In part one of our 2016 special, Joel, Ryan Sim and James McKenzie break down far too many of the year's celebrity deaths one by one. In the first post-Trump edition of One Woke Boy, Joel is joined by Michael Griffin to discuss open letters, cheese pizza, and more.
Joel is joined by Michelle Azevedo and a somewhat grouchy Sam Bowden to discuss Bowser Bongs, D.I.N.O.S.A.U.R.S and a Vine, plus a new closing segment is debuted. Notes: Bowden said a bunch of shit that absolutely had to be edited out; The Vine we discuss is here: https://vine.co/v/5dtxDXqrBLP
In the third One Woke Boy, Joel is joined by James McKenzie and David Woodhead to talk about White Pride, Putin, some lady's holiday and David Leyonhjelm.
In this special one segment edition of what is now One Woke Boy, Joel is joined by comedians Sam Bowden and Ryan Sim during the AFL Grand Final to do a quick "This is What Passes For Journalism These Days? SMH..." on what qualifies as a lot of murders, elitism, and zoos. Sound is not great, by the way.
Following Jack's departure from the show, Joel is joined by Ryan Sim, while Jack washes the dishes metres away, to discuss hot hubbies, Derryn Hinch, the dictionary and give a technical difficulty-plagued analysis of poetry.
Jack and Joel travel down the M1 to visit Josh Armstrong, spend almost an hour trying to figure out how to use his equipment, then discuss schoolyard bullying, read some poetry, examine fat tongues, and cast a critical gaze over hung parliaments. If this makes you laugh, please share!
Jack and Joel are saved by Jas Fairbairn as the LIVE ELECTION SPECIAL at SBC Comedy starts off slow. With her help the boys discuss allegations made against candidates, why smoke keeps coming out of the Australian Electoral Commission, and the problematic politics surrounding the polling day sausage sizzle. Our other special guest couldn't make it in the end, but he was nice enough to record an introduction. We'll get him next time!

Jack and Joel are joined in the studio by return guest Michelle Azevedo. They have an in-depth discussion on mining and environmental policy at Jack's behest, try to work out whether commenters on the Brisbane Times can read, and Joel introduces a new segment.
The Woke Boys are back in the studio this week with our first return guest Ryan Sim, before he jets off to LA. They discuss why David Morrison can "get knotted", Wikipedia editor feuds, why Elon Musk thinks we're in a matrix, the Liberal Democrats and more.
