In this episode Anna Harper a successful property entrepreneur talks about her strategies and discusses with Fredrik the changing investment market and the creative and diverse  ways investors are working. Anna shares her journey to investment and what she is investing in for the future. KEY TAKE AWAYS As a woman in property felt when first started there was a difference but not now In the beginning very aware that I was the only  female but don’t think about now. If you are thinking about sharing an exciting message then you forget about yourself. Personal development is about Learning new things and Investing in yourself is very important if you are working for yourself. If you enjoy learning along the way, mistakes don’t matter if you learn from them The 3 metrics for investment decisions reward to risk reward tp effort opportunity cost can also be applied to personal development. Try to keep interested and curious and on your learning journey be conscious and understand where you started your journey. Podcasting provides accessible information and listening to learn can really help. If you have knowledge of your own it’s a perfect way to share and help others Most people don’t get into property or grow because they fear rejection. Finding right finance solution is a  big challenge for many people. To find the right investment you have to be prepared to 1 find the right deal 2 pick up the phone and expect at least 9 rejections before you get a yes  When looking at an investment decision Not just looking at the property asset and the plan Also who’s going to be doing it whats the local context Theres so much more to a property deal  than just the price Important to have a clear strategy, it might change but it is something to follow know your own strengths and be able to use them effectively. Knowing your customer is vital and don’t  be afraid to make mistakes, as long as you learn from them.  BEST MOMENTS “Room should feel brighter when you enter, Positive energy  and working  with people who are fun” “Stay in your lane, it can be easy to get distracted and get hung up on what others are doing” “Good mentor figures are vital,These relationships really important” “A good deal is different for different people”  VALUABLE RESOURCES Fredrik Sandvall, Invest in You: https://itunes.apple.com/pk/podcast/invest-in-you/id1353355236?mt=2 ABOUT THE GUEST Anna Harper  https://www.linkedin.com/in/annaclareharper/  ABOUT THE HOST Serial entrepreneur Fredrik Sandvall loves sharing ideas and interviewing world-class entrepreneurs and influencers. Climate change is in the news this week. The international Paris agreement to curb global temperature rise has just come into effect but President Elect Donald Trump has said he would take the United States out of the process. In BBC Inside Science, Adam Rutherford puts listener's questions and views about climate change to experts, such as the emissions reduction impact of becoming a vegan to a proposed technology to remove carbon dioxide from the planet's atmosphere. Myles Allen and Peter Scarborough of the University of Oxford, and Anna Harper of the University of Exeter are consulted. The programme also visits a lab at the Open University which studies the way animals interact with computer technology. Research includes technology to enable dogs to phone the emergency services if humans get into trouble, and using dogs to detect cancer. Reporter Marnie Chesterton meets researcher Clara Mancini and dogs Ozzie and Tory. Are there commonalities across the world's languages between the sounds in particular words and the meanings of those words? The traditional thinking in linguistics says no. But new research surveying the meaning and sounds of words across 6,000 languages from the Americas, Asia, Europe and Australasia finds otherwise. The 'r' sound is used in words for the colour 'red' all around the world at frequencies much higher than by chance. The case is the same for the words for 'nose' and other parts of the body. Morten Christiansen of Cornell University talks to Adam Rutherford about the research.
