Time, then, to break the silence with Demolition, a brain melting compilation of 10 tracks, all previously unreleased and recorded during the hiatus between the band's second and third albums, 1991's Hellacious Acres and 1994's Pissed - arguably, the peak of the original band's activities. It wasn't easy selecting the contents. The band had some 70 new songs to choose from as they pieced together Pissed, almost everyone banged down on tape within days of the original idea being brought into the jam rom. Moc. Loose. Collectors. Forever.Tom “Dramatico” Sanford returns! This week, Mike and Tom welcome back their longtime friend from Ringside Collectibles to break down a HUGE week in wrestling figure news, surprise drops, holiday chaos, and collector heartbreak.
Dangerous Toys - DemolitionSomewhere in the cobwebs of 1990-93, Texas rockers Dangerous Toys wrote a hellacious stack of songs for a third, major-label album that, unfortunately, never happened. While some of those song ideas subsequently surfaced on the indie-label album, “Pissed,” most were left for dead as “rejects” or unfinished demos. Until now. Singer and co-host Jason McMaster tells us how 10 of those long-lost tracks were dusted off, salvaged (as much as possible) and blessed by Bill Z. Bub for the upcoming Dangerous Toys release, “Demolition” (see what they did there?).Created and Produced by Jared Tuten
In this episode, we explore how navigating life living with Multiple Sclerosis and rebuilding a life we love after diagnosis is similar to a bathroom remodel. We'll look at the many parallels between a real life remodel in action and how we can similarly examine our own lives to find aspects that would greatly benefit from a thoughtful and deliberate remodel. We'll talk through the phases of a remodel - the Dream Design, Hiring the Right Construction Team, Diving into Demolition, Navigating the Unexpected, and finally, Reconstruction - Building the New. I hope this episode results in a future remodeling or renovation project of your own - either literal, figurative, or both! patreon.com/MSFlock
After 1945, the Soviet-German Wismut company began large-scale uranium mining in the Ore Mountains. The small town of Johanngeorgenstadt was among the most important mining areas. As a result of the intensive mining operations, the old town—under which numerous tunnels lay—had to be demolished, in some cases against the resistance of the local population. In his lecture, Manuel Schramm describes the lasting effects that the demolition of the old town has had on the city's cultural and social identity up to the present day. The bulldozing of the East Wing of the White House late last week was shocking to much of the nation, Mary and Andrew included. They begin there with concerns, not only about preserving its rich history, but the ethical and legal questions that arise from the president using private donations to fund this ballroom build, and how the Anti-Deficiency Act might apply. Next, an update on National Guard deployments in the California case and the 9th Circuit's issue of a temporary stay in Portland as they consider an en banc review. And last up, the boat strikes keep coming in the Caribbean -- and now in the Pacific, as the president continues to escalate tensions. Mary and Andrew address the thorny legal issues at play when the U.S. military kills suspected traffickers in international waters.A note to listeners: Since this episode was recorded, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced another set of boat strikes in the Pacific ocean that killed 14 people. Further reading: Here is the Letter from several Democratic Senators raising concerns about donations to the ballroom that Mary and Andrew spoke about. Want to listen to this show without ads?
