Audrey Whitby is gold & the Audrey Whitby - Joey Bragg relationship is a Young Hollywood Mini Power Couple of Comedy! You know her as Cherry on The Thundermans. I first saw Audrey Whitby on So Random! (Sonny With a Chance semi-spin-off) was my first time seeing her on TV! Audrey is so…incredibly…talented! Her sense of timing and acting chops are so on-point! It’s incredible to see her at work with Joey Bragg on Betch (which also has a few other Liv and Maddie faces). Just after we filmed the intro, we got word back from American High at her upcoming movie, Sid Is Dead, with Joey Bragg (Liv and Maddie), G Hannelius (Dog with a Blog and Sonny with a Chance), Mary Stuart Masterson, and even Jack Griffo (The Thundermans) is in post production! So, as we were packing up at the end of last year’s Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2019 orange carpet, there was Audrey! I couldn’t have been happier to see her! It had been so long since our last run-in back in 2014 at Allisyn Snyder (Allisyn Ashley Arm’s) Art show in 2014 and before that at the Lone Ranger Premiere in Disney’s California Adventure back in 2013! Let’s start with a catch up-intro, then jump into our new interview followed by a couple of clips from the fun Piper’s Picks Planetary Archives! Thank you so much for watching, guyz!
My guests on this episode of the Hometown to Hollywood podcast are the founders of coaching business Acting with Actors, actresses Victoria Moroles and Audrey Whitby. Audrey is known best for her work on The Thundermans, The Standoff, Liv and Maddie, Betch, So Random!, Awesomeness TV, Townies, Guilty Party, and In the Vault. Victoria is best known for her work on Teen Wolf, Liv and Maddie, Down a Dark Hall, Here and Now, Cloud 9, and Snow Falls. With a combined 100+ episodes of children's and network television under their belts, chances are they know the casting director or show-runner on most projects, especially if it's under the Nick or Disney umbrella. Multi-cams and sitcoms are Audrey’s specialty, and Victoria has starred in multiple teen-dramas and features. Both have experience teaching, coaching, and working with kids. We cover a lot of ground, including how they each got their start in the industry, audition advice, how they approach coaching actors, advice for young people who want a career as an actor, ways to deal with rejection, and even a little advice for actors dealing with the COVID shutdown. Listen to the first 10 minutes here for free, or become a Friend of the Podcast for access to the full interview, as well as access to the entire collection of over 100 other inspiring and educational episodes designed to help you succeed in the entertainment industry. Your support allows me to continue to do the work that supports you, and the dreams of your child, or even your own dreams. Thank you! Some of my favorite quotes from our conversation: “I think where I really thrived and learned the most was through studios and private coaches.” "You take what works best for you from each teacher, and make your own way of doing it.” “We’ve taken all the techniques we’ve learned over the past decade and created a really safe space to do self-tapes.” “I speak kid actor.” “With training you learn from watching, with coaching you learn from doing.” "Confidence is always going to be the basis of somebody who is successful.” “Nobody is your direct competition.” “It’s not my job to get the part. It’s my job to do my best.” “You never, ever know where a self-tape is going to end up.” “If you look at it as an opportunity to show people how great you are as opposed to an opportunity to get the role, that’s when you start to flourish.” “You have to be prepared to let down some guards, not care about what people think of you… that’s been a huge lesson for me.” “Keep going, and be patient with yourself, and have fun.” “As actors, every singe thing we do is something we can learn from.” Contact Victoria and Audrey HERE for coaching: Email: actingwithactors@gmail.com Call or text: 818-254-9650 Follow Victoria and Audrey HERE: Instagram: @victoriamoroles @audreywhitby Twitter: @victoriamoroles @audreywhitby FaceBook: @victoriamoroles Audrey and Victoria’s advice—to take what you learn from different people and then make it your own—applies to your journey in the industry as well. The more you understand about how this industry really works—and just as importantly, does NOT work—the better your odds of success. I can save you years of frustration and help you create a detailed action plan.
It's dudes and dudettes for an in-depth look at diversity in the industry! DOFP regulars, Audrey Whitby and Jessica Marie Garcia join Kurt and Joey to talk about Jess' new @Netflix show, "On My Block" (starting March 16th), making unheard, diverse stories for TV & Film, educating the ignorant, and America's greatest export, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Plus, Kurt and Jess clear the air about the Golden Globes comments, and how we can tip the scales in favor of the dreamers. Audio Theater, new types of confetti cannons, and so much more!
Joey and Kurt are joined by Audrey Whitby and Jessica Marie Garcia to talk about all the firsts that happened in the recent election. Then we dive into the recent rash of sexual harassment issues that, for lack of a better term, have sprung up lately. What's the deal with powerful men, including Louis CK, Roy Moore, Kevin Spacey and others? Then we brighten the mood with a (mostly) positive review of Thor: Ragnarok. Something for everyone in this raucous discussion spanning the generations! More info, you ask? www.dudesoffuturepast.com @dofpcast @joeybragg @mrkurtlong @jess_m_garcia @audreywhitby
The Dudes have their favorite Lady Dude in the studio, Audrey Whitby, to discuss the recent Weinstein news, the effect on Hollywood and gender relations in general. What does all this recent news mean for sexuality? Well, we (Literally) roll the love dice to let fate how we are going to approach each other from now on. We also review "Good Place", Michael Schur programs, Flea Bag, Roseanne, and American Vandal. And is "Solo" a good enough name for the new Star Wars film? @audreywhitby @kurtlong @JoeyBragg www.dudesoffuturepast.com
Kurt, Joey and special guest, Audrey Whitby dissect Stephen King's classic, old and new. Let's face it, new versions of old things usually have a hard time matching the original. So, just to be sure, Joey & Audrey watched the ABC miniseries version of "IT" before picking up Kurt and heading to the multiplex to watch the 2017 Film version. Have a listen to find out which Pennywise was more horrifying, which cast of kids were more horrified and which version won the battle of Future/Past. Plus, we discuss Joey's browser history, which is more polite, "Boobs" or "Knockers" and whether or not it's "cool" to keep Playboy magazines out in the open. And so much more!!! As our sociological podcast experiment pitting Millennials versus Generation X continues, we dip into how a Millennial gets made! The millennial in question is none-other then our very own Co-host, Joey Bragg! And our special Guests are his parents, Melanie & Ken. They are here to answer all the important questions, like - "How did you meet and fall in love?", "What was Joey like as a young kid?", and "When did you know he was going to be America's Sweetheart?" It's a super fun show with a lot of laughs, singing Frasier's theme song, and discussing all the uncomfortable topics related to family, fame, sex and relationships. We are also #BLESSED to have the beautiful and talented Audrey Whitby on the show to help ease Joey's nerves related to having his relations on the show. Please let us know how we are doing: @DOFPCAST dudes@dudesoffuturepast.com - We read all the emails! Download, Subscribe, Share and Comment!
He's Back! After over a month and a half of filming in Boston, Joey returns to the Coop and he brings his better half, Audrey Whitby! We play a little catch-up, talk about the shoot, Joey's reaction to Boston and all the stuff in between! Shaking the rust off with some Audio Theater at the top of the show! Thanks for being a listener and email us thoughts, complaints, suggestions but mostly compliments! @audreywhitby @JoeyBragg @KurtLong Follow the podcast on Twitter, insta and facebook! @dofpcast.com and check out our animated selves from super fan @haleyklassen https://youtu.be/VMmixAXjClw
Joey and Kurt have talked about a lot of subjects over the course of the podcast, but nothing more heavy than this... DEATH! Sadly, Joey lost his grandmother recently and we felt it appropriate to honor her memory with a deep discussion of the fate we all hold. But the original recording was mysteriously ruined somehow. Ironic that a discussion of death could reach a similar fate? Yes! But we persevered in the face of adversity and sorrow and reconvened and brought the delightful Audrey Whitby to bring her perspective to the matter. And yes, though the subject matter is deep, we keep it fun and interesting while still honoring those we lost. Hope you enjoy and can find a little light even in the toughest of times. Thanks for the download and listen, we really appreciate your time. Email us your thoughts: Dudes@dudesoffuturepast.com tweet or gram us: @dofpcast
Chemistry! That's what makes most Hollywood productions work. If there is no chemistry between castmates, directors and writers, producers and people who have all the money, then a creative project usually doesn't get off the ground. So when Joey and Kurt asked Audrey to be a guest on the first episode of the year, they knew it was going to be spectacular. For one, Audrey is a super fantastic, funny, adorable, intelligent, talented lady. And second, she's Joey's main squeeze. So we knew the chemistry would be off the charts. But how would the Dude dynamic work with one of their significant others in the room? Would there be jealousy? Would there be awkwardness? Sure! And it makes it one of our most amazing shows ever. We learn so much about the amazing Audrey, her American Girl Doll past, Her skills with freestyle, and how she has learned to share Joey with Kurt. All that and so much more. Its funny, informational and at times, tense! Listen in for the most spectacular podcast of the year! Subscribe, Download and rate on Itunes. Email: dudes@dudesoffuturepast.com
