Stefan visits and Jordan revisits this horror anthology to see what it was all about. Plus, Jordan designed a monster for the film. Apologies for Stefan's garbage audio in the first segment.

Some universities are said to have been built on ancient burial sites; others were apparently the scenes of tragic suicides and unexplained deaths. It's probably little wonder, then, that so many college campuses are supposedly haunted. Taking in everything from possessed paintings to mischief-making poltergeists, haunted college ghost legends are as varied as they are chilling. What's more, while some schools seem to shrug off their allegedly haunted histories, others actively embrace the reputations they have for all things paranormal. Students, meanwhile, have turned the humble ghost story into a campus institution, and tales are enthusiastically passed down from each generation of freshmen to the next.
Chairs move about by themselves. Walls shake from loud, unexplained banging. Water drips from a ceiling. Hairbrushes disappear for days, only to reappear in their place on the dresser. These are some of the classic symptoms of a poltergeist haunting. From the German for "noisy ghost," a poltergeist refers to phenomena usually credited to mischievous spirits or ghosts and are characterized by psychokinesis or other physical manifestations. Although ghosts may sometimes be involved, most poltergeist incidents are a kind of psychic phenomena, usually centered around a living "agent." Cases have been cited almost since the beginning of recorded history.
Walking through a hushed cemetery at night with only a flashlight to guide your way can be a stirring experience. A lot of paranormal societies use graveyards for training grounds. If you get an EMF reading in a graveyard, there is no electricity there, so it has to be coming from some other source.”
Ojai, CA has 3 urban legends that have scared the locals going back to the 1800's. You will hear about all 3 in this episode.
Thanks to films like The Shining and its real-life inspiration, the Stanley Hotel, for some thrill-seekers there's something frighteningly fun about the thought of spending the night in one of the world's most haunted hotels.
Faith from Caffeinated Monsters helps me kick off spooky season with this low-budget anthology. Cannibals, terrible professors, and Martian sex zombies await.
Theories as to the causes of ghost lights include the usual explanations such as ball lightening, car headlights reflections seen through fog, seismic activity, mirages and the ever popular "swamp gas." For the greater part, ghost lights seem to appear mostly in and around mountainous areas, in swamps and along train tracks.

There isn't a state in the U.S. that doesn't have stories about ghost sightings and creepy sounds in its local schools. Some sound as uncomfortable as fingernails on chalkboard—or the squeak of a marker that has dried up.
The Great Lakes are beautiful, but treacherous, with over 6000 shipwrecks and 30,000 deaths.
Mines are dark, dank, and dangerous. When working the claustrophobic tunnels, it surely didn't take much to ignite the imagination. Every sound could suggest a creepy spirit. Park City's mining days were diverse in culture and rich in tradition. In such settings, ghost stories abound, one of the most famous being about the “Man in the Yellow Slicker.”
Hey Deadtime Storians I wanted to share some sad news with all of you. Unfortunately we lost a very close friend to our personal family as well as the Deadtime Stories family this weekend. On Sunday Tracy Zales, our friend and theme song composer passed away. She was one of the kindest souls on this planet and we are absolutely devastated by the news. In honor of Tracy, I wanted to re-run the first episode we used her music for. Rest in peace my friend.New Orleans is full of history, ghost stories, and true crime. The case of Zack Bowen and Addie Hall is perhaps the city's most infamous crime but the tales about the couple told late at night by ghost tours through the French Quarter don't come anywhere close to examining the couple's full story. Written by Schuyler Fastenau-Jones and executive produced by Daniel Fastenau-Jones. Additional voices by Walker Barnes, Taylor Shurte, Tamara Perry, Jordan Katcher, Allyn Anthony Moriyon, Marissa Pistone, Jeremy Staple, Matt MacNelly, and Daniel Fastenau-Jones. Many bars have regulars who never seem to leave, even after hundreds of years. And to that point, from the United States to Australia, these haunted bars claim to be home to a number of ghostly beings.
For spine-tingling tales and frightfully good fun, who you gonna call? Santa Cruz County has played host to hair-raising chills on the big screen, from the teen vampires of “The Lost Boys” to the scissor-wielding doppelgangers in “Us,” but the frights don't have to end when the credits roll. Though famed for its sunny beach culture, Santa Cruz County hides a fun, spooky side with eerie cemeteries, creepy-cool Victorian mansions, and historic hotels rumored to house a few guests who've never checked out.

All across America, there are plenty of historic hotels, inns, and B&Bs that boast a ghoulish past—and they've opened their doors to take you along for the ride. If you and your family revel in things that go bump in the night, and are more thrilled than freaked out by unexplained noises and cold breezes coming from seemingly nowhere, you'll be glad you picked a haunted hotel for your next group vacation. Especially because many of these hotels are also historic, so they also tend to have vintage décor, antique furniture galore, and other quirky details you won't find at modern resorts. One of these hotels is in Glenwood Springs, Colorado-The Hotel Colorado
When you mention witches in America, your mind goes immediately to Salem Massachusetts. While this was the most famous city to have witch trials, it wasn't the only city who convicted witches in a court of law. In fact, it went on all over the country, in some cases centuries after the Salem Witch Trials. In this episode we will discuss a little know case outside of Santa Fe, NM in 1854

Savannah is widely recognized as one of the most haunted cities in America. While several of the haunted landmarks are commonly known, the Olde Pink House may be just as haunted as they are.
It's said that ghosts are the souls of those who died suddenly or tragically and are tied to the location of their demise for all eternity, unable to accept their death. If that's true, the battlefields strewn across America, should be some of the most haunted places in America. Few things were more sudden or tragic than taking a 24-pounder howitzer to the face while slowly walking toward a line of people who were supposed to kill you with rifles or bayonets. That being said, if ghosts do exist, the battlefield at Petersburg must be crawling with them.
Kansas is a state that may be best known for producing a tornado that swept Dorothy & Toto off to the land of Oz. Fans of the TV show Supernatural will also know Kansas as the home state of Sam & Dean Winchester. While Supernatural & The Wizard of Oz may have given us a few spooky scenes, they are just stories from the minds of authors and screen writers. Kansas has some real life stories that will send chills down your spine. Stories of the Sallie House in Atchison, KS will leave you shaken to the core Kansa even has its own haunted fort in Fort Riley. The Sunflower State also has its share of haunted hotels, In todays episode we will learn about one in the hometown of the Winchesters, Lawrence, KS
Being a coal miner is one of toughest jobs to ever exist. When you work a job that hard, you like to play hard. Some of those played a little too hard at Rogues Hollow.
Ghost lights used to be called will-o-the-wisps. They were a weird glow over swamps or bogs. Nowadays, people report strange lights in the sky in all sorts of places, often over highways. Some are more famous than others.
It is not unusual for political establishments to be haunted. In the past we have talked about The White House, The Tennessee State Capitol and even the Butte-Silver Bow Courthouse in Montana. All of those are in the United States If we have that many haunted political locations in the states, there must be several others throughout the world In today's episode, we will discuss one such place in England.
A doppelganger is a mysterious, exact double of a living person. It's a German word that literally translates to "double walker" or "double goer". A doppelganger isn't someone who just resembles you, but is an exact double, right down to the way you walk, act, talk, and dress. Hear a legend about doppelgangers in this episode.
Professional athletes do a lot of traveling during their respective seasons. This means several nights in hotel rooms. Some athletes live in hotel rooms in their team's hometown because they have homes elsewhere. With the number of haunted hotels out there, it isn't surprising that there are some stories out there from athletes and their haunting experiences during their stays. In this episode, you will learn about some experiences from Tampa Bay Rays baseball players at the Renaissance Vinoy Hotel in St Petersburg, Fl

Most people associate Iowa with Midwestern charm, beautiful farmlands, and lots of small-town communities. But there's another more sinister side to Iowa if you're curious to explore it. The state is riddled with paranormal activity, haunted attractions, and legends that may just keep you up at night.
