Listen in to one of our leaders, Josh Madzy talk from this week's EDGE! Our default mode is to fall further into the systems of this world. This happens when we live according to our nature instead of our purpose. However, Jesus calls us out to live as citizens of His Kingdom. The ways of God's Kingdom are opposite of the world and lead to a life of fulfillment and abundance. Citizens not only have rights and privileges, but they also have responsibilities. The same is true for us as citizens of Heaven. Let's not only experience the blessings of our new citizenship but let's conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel.Main Points:1. You may not have thought about this, Heaven is not just a place you are waiting to see, but it's a place of which you are already a citizen. You have a legal right to belong in Heaven because the blood of Jesus has paid for your entry. 2. As citizens of Heaven, the Word of God calls for us to live as citizens of Heaven. We are not yet in Heaven, but we are to live with the values of our new home.3. Paul says we can live as citizens of Heaven by conducting ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel. In other words, if you are saved, live as someone who is saved. If Christ has come into your life, it should be noticeable in how you live. We are not worthy of what Christ has done for us, but we should do our best to live as though we were.Today's Scripture Verses:Ephesians 2:19 - “You Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God's holy people. You are members of God's family.”Philippians 1:27 - “Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ.”Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group
We are all imitators. Children and adults alike pick up the traits of those around them. You don't have to travel far to notice the regional accents we develop. We adopt the patterns of others without even realizing it! Instead, Paul tells us to be intentional about the way we live. He encourages us to pattern our lives after those who pursue Christ above all. We are to walk as citizens of heaven.

Homily for the Solmenity of Jesus Christ - King of the Universe (November 23, 2025) Total Time 10m16AI Notes (Click Here)What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword? As it is written: “For your sake we are being slain all the day; we are looked upon as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.(Romans 8:35-39)

20251103-"How Do We Live" Election Special- Citizens of Heaven 1st - Pastor Mike Luciano by That KEVIN Show
What if the real test of faith isn't what you believe in theory, but how you walk it out with other people—especially the ones who rub you the wrong way? Journeying through Philippians 3, we explore why Paul refuses to let belief stay abstract. He moves us from orthodoxy to orthopraxy, from ideas to daily habits, and he roots the entire shift in one provocative claim: Christians don't live fragmented lives. Our heavenly citizenship informs everything—work, politics, relationships, desires—because Jesus is not a weekend identity; he's the organizing center.Expect some holy discomfort as we challenge fragmented living and gimmick-driven spirituality. Paul's invitation to imitate his life confronts our obsession with polish and ease. He was poor, opposed, often alone—and deeply content. The early church saw glory through a cross-shaped lens, not a pain-free one. That vision steadies us now: we can lean into community when offended, guard doctrine without losing love, and set our minds above without abandoning the world we're called to serve. My hope is that this podcast helps grow your faith and equips you to accomplish your dreams and goals!Follow me on InstagramFollow me on FacebookFollow me on TikTok
