Ever felt like your faith was hanging by a thread—but you were too afraid to say it out loud?In this episode, I sit down with author, speaker, and spiritual guide Niki Hardy to talk about her newest book, God, Can We Chat?, and the freedom we find when we stop pretending everything's fine and bring our real questions to God.After walking through deep grief, spiritual burnout, and what she calls “death by a thousand paper cuts,” Niki realized that asking hard questions didn't mean she was losing her faith—it meant she was fighting for it.Together, we unpack:Why your doubts aren't dangerous—but actually essential to real faithHow to ask God hard questions without fear, guilt, or shameThe 5 lies we believe that keep us from honest conversations with GodThe CHAT framework to help you process pain with God (and not just about Him)Why Jesus gives you permission to wrestle, grieve, and not have it all figured outWhether you're grieving, burnt out, or secretly scared you're losing your faith—this conversation will remind you that God welcomes your questions and walks with you through the mess.✨ Quote to Remember:“God isn't intimidated by your questions—He's already holding space for them.”

When you find yourself confronting something new or something seemingly out of control, and you wish your life was different or that things could just continue like they always have — resist that thought. Resist. Remember: God has known about this time and this situation from all eternity, and He's known about you from all eternity, and He's chosen this time and this place for you – from all eternity. Readings at this Mass: Acts 14:21–27 | Rv 21:1–5a | Jn 13:31–33a, 34–35
In this powerful message, Pastor Lawrence explores the biblical significance of remembrance in our spiritual journey. Drawing from Joshua 4:1-9, we discover God's instructions for creating physical memorials and their spiritual significance in our lives today. Learn how intentional remembrance keeps us connected to God's faithfulness and transforms how we live out our faith.Key Points:God intentionally designed our minds with memory so we would not forget His faithfulnessThroughout Scripture, God commanded His people to create memorials to remember His mighty worksThe Bible contains numerous calls to remember God's deliverance, guidance, and provisionThree Ways to Remember God's Work:Be intentional about creating memorials in your lifeUse those memorials to teach your children about God's power and mercyLet your own life become a memorial to God's powerful workScripture References:Joshua 4:1-9 (The memorial stones at the Jordan River)Deuteronomy 6:12, 8:11-14 (Warnings against forgetting the Lord)Proverbs 22:6 (Training children in God's ways)Matthew 5:14 (Being a light to the world)Bottom Line: Our lives should be monuments to God's faithfulness. By intentionally creating memorials, teaching others through them, and living as a testimony, we keep God's mighty works alive in our hearts and in future generations. “What To Do When You Don't Know What To Do” May 11, 2025 2 Chronicles 20:1-23 Rev. Bill Vogler Sermon Application [file] ----more---- 2 Chronicles 20:1 After this the Moabites and Ammonites, and with them some of the Meunites, came against Jehoshaphat for battle. [2] Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, “A great multitude is coming against you from Edom, from beyond the sea; and, behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar” (that is, Engedi). [3] Then Jehoshaphat was afraid and set his face to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. [4] And Judah assembled to seek help from the Lord; from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord. [5] And Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court, [6] and said, “O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you. [7] Did you not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend? [8] And they have lived in it and have built for you in it a sanctuary for your name, saying, [9] ‘If disaster comes upon us, the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and before you—for your name is in this house—and cry out to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.' [10] And now behold, the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade when they came from the land of Egypt, and whom they avoided and did not destroy— [11] behold, they reward us by coming to drive us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit. [12] O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” [13] Meanwhile all Judah stood before the Lord, with their little ones, their wives, and their children. [14] And the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly. [15] And he said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the Lord to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God's. [16] Tomorrow go down against them. Behold, they will come up by the ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end of the valley, east of the wilderness of Jeruel. [17] You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.' Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.” [18] Then Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the Lord, worshiping the Lord. [19] And the Levites, of the Kohathites and the Korahites, stood up to praise the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice. [20] And they rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. And when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe his prophets, and you will succeed.” [21] And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to the Lord and praise him in holy attire, as they went before the army, and say, “Give thanks to the Lord, for his steadfast love endures forever.” [22] And when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set an ambush against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed. [23] For the men of Ammon and Moab rose against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, devoting them to destruction, and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they all helped to destroy one another. Welcome to The Daily, where we go through the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every single day. We are in the last chapter of Ecclesiastes. That means today we are 6 days away from starting the Gospel of Mark. Go to the website and grab the Scripture Journal for this study so you can study along with us. Today, we're looking at Ecclesiastes 12:1: Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them.” — Ecclesiastes 12:1 There's a temptation to put off getting serious about our faith until later in life. To assume we'll get around to God when life slows down or after we've experienced all that the world has to offer. But Solomon flips that thinking on its head. He says: "Remember your Creator"—now, not later. In the days of your youth. Not just when it is convenient or calm. Not when the pressure lets up. But while you're young, energetic, full of possibility. Why? Because evil days are coming. Aging is inevitable. Challenges will increase. Pain will multiply. And it becomes harder to build a foundation of faith when life begins to wear you down. Youth is a gift, people. It's a window of opportunity. It's a season when your heart is still moldable, your body is still able, and your mind is still open. That's when you need to anchor yourself to the truth of who God is. "Remember" here also doesn't mean a fleeting thought—it means live like God is your personal Maker, Designer, and Architect. Make decisions that reflect his authority. Build habits that honor his design. Shape your values around his Word. Because the days will come when you'll look back and realize how vital those early decisions were. The strength you'll need for tomorrow must be cultivated right now, today! Don't wait until life breaks you to bow your heart. Remember Him now—before regret writes your story. #FaithNow, #Ecclesiastes12, #LiveAnchored ASK THIS: What does it mean to remember God in your youth? Have I been delaying spiritual growth for a more "convenient" time? What habits am I forming that anchor me to God's truth? How do I want to look back on my youth in light of eternity? DO THIS: Build one spiritual habit today that reflects God's design for your life—don't delay. PRAY THIS: Father, help me to remember You now while I still have strength, clarity, and opportunity. Teach me to live today in a way that honors You for a lifetime. Amen. PLAY THIS: I Believe.

Ever felt bored in church and wondered, "Is this even working? Does this mean I'm not really saved?" You're not alone. Here's the truth: Boredom doesn't determine your salvation. The power of God's Word works regardless of how you feel about it. American Christianity often measures faith by emotions, but that's not the true measure of faith. What to remember when you're bored:✅ Your salvation isn't dependent on perfect attention or emotional experiences. ✅ It's based on what Jesus has done for you. ✅ The Word does what God promises, whether you feel it or not.Practical tips:✅ Keep showing up, even when it's boring✅ When your mind wanders, gently bring it back✅ Take notes during the sermon✅ Write down distracting thoughts so you can let them goChurch might seem boring sometimes, but that repetition serves you when life is anything but boring — in hospitals, during stressful times, or when it feels like everything is falling apart. Recognize this struggle as one more area where you need Jesus. Even your inability to pay attention is covered by His grace.Remember: God loves you and meets you exactly where you are — fidgety, distracted, bored and all. Your feelings don't determine His faithfulness.Contributor Chris Brademeyer is Pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Oakes, ND.Contributor Rev. What has play got to do with suffering? Annie F. Downs has built her career on having fun. Her New York Times bestseller titles include That Sounds Fun, Remember God, and 100 Days to Brave. Her new book for kids seems very different from the fun-loving Downs. Downs explains how the death of her nephew TJ led her to write a children's book to help kids (and grownups) understand suffering and loss at the same time as the love of God. In this episode, Downs tells us what surprised her about how kids respond to this kind of suffering and what that taught her about getting rid of fake platitudes, about what to do when someone you love is hurting, and about how to genuinely grieve while still recognizing a world of joy, hope, and even fun. Welcome to our sermon series, "The Miracles of Jesus"! In this powerful episode, "How to Overcome Doubt," we explore how faith can help us navigate uncertainty, inspired by the miraculous works of Christ.Key Topics in This Episode:
Deuteronomy 1 serves as the opening chapter of Moses' final address to the Israelites before they enter the Promised Land. This chapter is both a historical recounting and a spiritual reminder. Moses looks back over the journey from Mount Sinai (Horeb) to Kadesh Barnea and the critical moment when Israel refused to enter the land due to fear and disobedience. It's a call to remember God's faithfulness, learn from past mistakes, and trust Him for the future. ⸻ Verses 1–5: Setting the Stage “These are the words Moses spoke to all Israel in the wilderness east of the Jordan…” — Deuteronomy 1:1 Moses begins his speech in the fortieth year after leaving Egypt. The Israelites are now on the edge of the Promised Land, and Moses, knowing he won't enter it, prepares the people to walk in obedience and courage. The book of Deuteronomy literally means “second law” or “repetition of the law.” It's not a new law, but a reaffirmation of God's covenant and instructions before entering a new chapter. ⸻ Verses 6–8: God's Command to Advance “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance…” — Deuteronomy 1:6–7 God told the Israelites it was time to move forward from Mount Horeb. They had received the law, built the tabernacle, and camped, but now the call was to possess the land. This verse is powerful today. Many people camp in comfort zones, fear, or spiritual stagnation. But God says, “You've stayed here long enough. Move forward!” ⸻ Verses 9–18: Leadership Appointed “I cannot bear your troubles alone… Choose wise, understanding and respected men…” — Deuteronomy 1:9–13 Moses recalls how leadership was shared among the tribes. God values wise, just, and humble leaders who judge fairly, without partiality. This principle of shared leadership emphasizes community responsibility and integrity. ⸻ Verses 19–33: The Great Failure at Kadesh “But you were unwilling to go up; you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God.” — Deuteronomy 1:26 Moses reminds them of how they reached the edge of Canaan but refused to enter because of fear. Though God promised victory, the people believed the report of the ten fearful spies rather than the Lord. “In spite of this, you did not trust in the Lord your God.” — Deuteronomy 1:32 This is a warning: unbelief robs you of promises. The Israelites saw God's miracles—cloud by day, fire by night, manna from heaven—and still doubted. ⸻ Verses 34–40: The Judgment “Not one of this evil generation shall see the good land I swore to give…” — Deuteronomy 1:35 Because of disobedience, an entire generation was barred from entering the land, except for Caleb and Joshua, men of faith. Even Moses would not enter because of disobedience at Meribah (Numbers 20). This shows that leadership is held to a high standard, and God's discipline is not favoritism—it's righteous. ⸻ Verses 41–46: Presumption After Rebellion “Then you replied, ‘We have sinned… we will go up and fight'… But the Lord said to me, ‘Tell them not to go… I will not be with you.'” — Deuteronomy 1:41–42 After being told they would not enter, the people tried to go up without God's presence—and were defeated. This section shows the danger of presumptuous faith. Obedience is not just doing something religious—it's doing what God says, when He says, how He says. ⸻ Themes and Lessons from Deuteronomy 1 1. Remember God's Faithfulness Deuteronomy is filled with calls to remember. We are prone to forget God's works and promises when facing trials. Faith grows when we look back at His track record. 2. Move When God Says Move Stagnation can be disguised as spiritual patience. Don't camp out where God once was. Advance when He commands. 3. Obedience Is Greater Than Ambition The Israelites tried to correct their mistake with human effort, but it was too late. Delayed obedience is disobedience. 4. Trust Over Fear Fear caused a whole generation to miss their destiny. Faith is not the absence of fear—it's choosing to move forward in trust anyway. 5. God Shows No Favoritism Even Moses faced judgment. As Acts 10:34 says, “God is no respecter of persons.” We are all accountable to Him. ⸻ Reflection Questions •Am I lingering too long in a place God has told me to move on from? •Have I allowed fear to block me from obeying God's call? •Do I trust God's promises more than my perception of the situation? •Am I walking in obedience or presumption?Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sendme-radio--732966/support.

Adversity is a normal part of life, and a normal part of the Christian life. In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally reveals what we should remember as we walk through adversity. 1 Peter 4:12 NLTGod allows adversity because it matures us. So how do we not just go through adversity, but grow through adversity? The key to overcoming adversity is remembrance. Biblical remembrance is actively recalling and expecting God's past goodness to happen again in the future. Psalm 77:7-12 NLT is a perfect example of how remembrance defeats the discouragement of adversity. This psalmist had very real feelings. You can choose to dwell on your feelings, or you can choose to remember God's faithfulness. What should we remember during times of adversity?1. Remember to pray.Prayer is communication with God. It's talking to Him and letting Him talk to you.Psalm 34:17-18 NLT Adversity is coming. Don't start panicking, start praying! 2. Remember to praise.Praise and worship is the pathway into God's presence.Psalm 34:1 NLT Your praise is a powerful weapon. Stop worrying, start worshipping.Psalm 57:8 NLTPraise and worship is an act of defiance against adversity. 3. Remember to be patient.Psalm 37:7a NLT Patience is a muscle you can flex, and a mature Christian works it out. 4. Remember God's perspective.Life's trials are like puzzle pieces—you don't see the full picture yet, but God does. Adopt His perspective.Psalm 30:5b NLTAdversity is fleeting, but God's faithfulness is forever. 5. Remember God's promises.Psalm 119:50If God fulfilled His promises in the past, you can be sure He'll fulfill His promises in the future. 6. Remember God's people. The Church isn't just a place to go to; it's a people to grow with.Psalm 133:1 NIV Isolation weakens; community strengthens. A single coal removed from the fire quickly dies out. Stay connected to the flame.Prov 17:17 NIVWe don't pull away from one another during hard times; we press in. 7. Remember God's purpose.Psalm 57:2 When you forget God's purpose, you forfeit His peace.Romans 8:28When life shakes you, stand on what God has said, not what you see. In the 1968 Olympics, Tanzanian runner John Stephen Akhwari was injured in a fall during the marathon. Despite dislocating his knee, injuring his shoulder, and being in excruciating pain, he refused to quit. Hours after the race ended, he limped across the finish line. When asked why he kept going, he said: "My country did not send me 5,000 miles to start the race; they sent me to finish it." God didn't bring you this far to leave you now. Adversity is part of the race, but finishing with faith is what matters.Hebrews 12:1 Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.How are you responding to adversity?

Anxiety Hates Psalm 23 #RTTBROS #NightlightAnxiety Hates Psalm 23 #RTTBROS #Nightlight The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.(Psalm 23, KJV)Last night my sleep tracking app said I got just 3.5 hours of sleep. My dreams were troubled. Satan brought an old problem to the forefront of my mind to give me a spirit of fear and anxiety. I was still agitated on the way to work at 5 this morning then God showed up through Leanna Crawford's song "Still Waters".This song eased my mind and refocused my heart on him...I am safe...my family is safe...God's got this. Here is the song may it minister to your heart today. Anxiety Hates Psalm 23Great Aunt Maurine said at a hundred and threeWrite scripture on your heart for when you need itCause anxiety hates Psalm 23So just say it to yourself 'til you believe itAnd I'm feeling like I'm needing it right nowThe Lord is my shepherd, I shall not wantHe leads me by still waters 'til my fears are goneThough I walk through the valley of the shadow of deathO I know You are with meMy father, my friendYour goodness and mercy will follow me all of my daysI know by Your still waters I'm safeLord I believe You can set me at easeTurn this broken piece in me to peace and quietI know there's power in Your wordSo I'll say it over and over til my soul's remindedApplication Points:1. Memorize Scripture for Spiritual Battle: Like Great Aunt Maurine wisely advised, plant God's Word deep in your heart before the storms come. When anxiety strikes, Psalm 23 becomes your spiritual weapon.2. Speak Truth Over Your Fears: Notice how the Psalmist declares "I will fear no evil" in the very midst of the valley. When anxious thoughts invade, speak God's promises aloud until your emotions align with His truth.3. Remember God's Presence in Dark Valleys: The Psalm doesn't promise absence of valleys but presence of the Shepherd. Your circumstances may not change immediately, but knowing you're not alone changes everything.4. Rest by Still Waters Daily: Schedule intentional time to be led beside still waters through prayer, worship, and scripture meditation before anxiety has a chance to take root.5. Trust the Shepherd's Direction: Just as sleep tracking shows your rest patterns, trust that God is tracking your journey and knows exactly what you need, even when the path seems uncertain.Be sure to Like, Share, Follow and subscribe it helps get the word out.https://linktr.ee/rttbros

In this week's episode of Next Step Leadership, Chris and Tracy loved their conversation with Pastor Jonathan Altman. You will love it also. Take time to listen in. Think of what parts of Jonathan's story remind you about your story and the lives of people you know. What thoughts come to your mind as you hear about his parents' divorce? About him drifting away from God? About dealing with sadness and grief? About surrendering his heart to God? About his calling into the ministry, his time of reluctance to obey that invitation to ministry and his eventual willingness to say yes? About his heart for missions and his obedience into local church leadership? About working through his deep wounds and feeling alone? As you process his story, think about where God has guided you in the past and where He is taking you in the present. Remember God's love and refuse to attempt to endure life alone.https://www.spphc.com/staff
Jesus Followers Can Personally Talk to God, the Universe's Creator, About Issues Like His Will for You; but Do You? MESSAGE SUMMARY: As a Jesus Follower, you have a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe; and you can talk to God like you talk to your father. Remember God loves you. Imagine climbing up into His lap and imagine Him wrapping His arms around you – He is God your loving father. As God tells you in 2 Samuel 7:14-15: “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you.". You need to start talking to Him as the best dad there could ever be. Talk to God, regularly, about your life; your concerns; and your needs. You need to ask Him for His counsel, and you need to ask Him questions regarding His will for your life. TODAY'S PRAYER: Father, may the pains I experience in life kill the things that need to die in me — arrogance, pride, and indifference to others. Help me, daily, to see my frailty and how dependent I am on you, the Master of the Universe. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 72). Zondervan. Stephanie engages in a heartfelt conversation with renowned worship leader Darlene Zschech, who likes to remind us that learning to trust God is a superpower! Darlene invites us into a life of authentic worship. She challenges us to cultivate a heart rooted in humility, to pursue genuine connection with God, and to understand the profound impact of living a life centered around worship. Darlene emphasizes the necessity of approaching worship without pressure or performance. She underscores that God's love is unconditional and is not influenced by our achievements or failures. This invites us to worship and create from a place of freedom, where we can focus on building a sincere relationship with God rather than seeking approval or validation from others. Darlene shares her own journey, highlighting how she learned to adore God not for His gifts or as a task to check off, but simply to be in His presence. God's delight in us is not contingent upon our accomplishments, but is inherent to our relationship with Him. Engaging with God without any agenda other than presence leads to an authentic worship experience. Darlene's wisdom reminds us that trusting God is a superpower. Her personal experiences, including battling cancer, illustrate God's faithfulness and the necessity of discerning His voice. Humility in worship is non-negotiable. Darlene speaks to the trap of self-sufficiency, particularly for those naturally inclined to leadership and capability. She insists on the importance of shedding self-reliance and embracing humility to fully trust and depend on God. In a world craving attention, Darlene values the hidden life and the importance of remaining true to worship's essence. Her journey reminds us to fight for a culture of truth and humility. Darlene's experiences illustrate the significance of nurturing deep roots in God's Word and maintaining accountability in our faith walk. She cautions against the allure of fame and the pressure to create commercialized versions of worship, advocating instead for a focus on genuine expression that aligns with God's heart. Darlene's testimony of God's faithfulness during her battle with cancer is particularly moving, as she reminds us to trust both God's whisper and shouts alike. Nurturing a close relationship with God prepares us to discern His guidance during pivotal moments. Stephanie asks Darlene about the church's role in cultivating worship leaders. Darlene stresses the importance of mentoring and discipleship within worship teams, encouraging leaders to uphold a culture of truth, confidence, and humility. This environment ensures that the focus remains on facilitating worship towards God rather than self-glorification. Darlene's experience with Christians in India teaches us about true devotion and reliance on God. When comfort isn't an option, desperation calls out to God, showcasing His incredible faithfulness. Here are some of the key insights Stephanie will remember from her conversation with Darlene. Make them your own, or add some more! 1. Embrace Your Identity in Christ: God loves you unconditionally, regardless of your actions or achievements. 2. Delight in God's Presence: Prioritize spending time with God, not just for what you can gain, but for simply being with Him. 3. Practice Humility and Confidence: Strive for the combination of these qualities in your faith and life. 4. Cultivate a Life of Worship: Lead others to focus on God's worth, not your own abilities. 5. Seek to Align Desires with God's Will: Spend time in His word to align your heart with His plan. 6. Nurture a Hidden Life: Value your private relationship with God over public recognition. 7. Be Anchored in a Sure Foundation: Start each day with devotion and prayer, positioning yourself for what the day brings. 8. Serve with Excellence: Honor God through high standards in your work, recognizing Him as the source of your abilities. 9. Surrender to God's Will: Continually submit your life to Him and trust in His faithfulness. 10. Remember God's Faithfulness: Regularly reflect on and remember His past faithfulness as a source of encouragement. 11. Lead by Example in Worship: Facilitate a genuine connection between people and God, elevating them to see His worth. 12. Guard Your Heart: Continually examine and protect your heart against pride and complacency. 13. Embrace the Power of Influence: Use influence responsibly and to glorify God, while ensuring roots are deep in His word. 14. Remain Teachable: Continuously seek mentorship and embrace correction and growth. 15. Trust God Beyond Self-Reliance: Let go of self-sufficiency and put trust fully in God, who desires to guide your path. 16. Value Discipleship and Community: Learn from and contribute to the community around you for spiritual growth. Darlene and Mark live in the beautiful Central Coast of New South Wales with their family: Amy and her husband Andrew, Chloe and her husband Hosanna, Zoe and her husband Matthew and their six beautiful grandchildren Ava, Roman, Ruthie, Thea, Elias and Nora. MORE ABOUT “TESTAMENT”, DARLENE'S LATEST ALBUM New album "Testament" is not just about memories, it's a statement that worship leads to encountering Christ afresh in every moment. Australian worship leader Darlene Zschech unveils her highly anticipated studio album, “Testament.” The new release marks the milestone 30-year anniversary of “Shout to the Lord,” a song that became an anthem for the church worldwide. It is also a stake in the ground to the faithfulness of God, as the title track declares: “My testament is you.” Stirred by friends and family, Zschech crafted a collection of 25 reimagined legacy songs and five brand-new tracks. From iconic songs such as “Cry of the Broken” and “Victor's Crown,” to fresh offerings like “Spirit of the Living God” and “Yes Again,” each song carries a powerful sound that is just as vibrant today. It also features many artists like Martin Smith, SVRICINA, Mitch Wong, and Michael W. Smith among others, as well as various choirs and the Australian Christian Orchestra, creating an expansive and eclectic project filled with the sound of praise, thanksgiving, and rich collaboration. This album embodies Zschech's story and her experience of God's unfailing love, not only in worship ministry but in each intricate details of her life too. It's a family project, described by the artist as “songs that have deep meaning to my family, that have helped shape me and kept my focus heavenward.” “Testament” weaves together songs that have been the soundtrack to her children's lives, her battle with cancer, and her adventures planting churches and starting non-profits alongside her husband. It also features multiple family members, including Zschech's daughter, Zoe Cameron, on “Shout to the Lord.” Commenting on this central song, which was penned before Zoe's birth, Zschech said: “I wrote it quickly while crying out to God about our future, saying that no matter what, we will follow him. I was young in age and young in God. ‘Shout to the Lord' changed things around us, but the things that really matter never changed and never will: God is faithful and attentive to our prayers.” Harnessing this central theme of faithfulness, “Testament” communicates its close relationship to obedience and thankfulness. It's the sound flowing out of a lifetime lived with the Lord, the very meaning of worship. Zschech is adamant that worship is not a genre but the whole of one's life poured out for the glory of God: “I'll always find it hard to wrap my head around the miracle of worship, music, and song. There's really no other vehicle available to us on earth that has the ability to bring to attention our mind, auditory senses, resting our hearts, moving the soul and spirit to a point when your whole self is pointed in the one direction. Such is the power of worship as the Holy Spirit leads our heart heavenward, Jesus-ward, through the magnificent sound of sacred song.” “Testament” is not just about memories, but it's a statement that worship leads to encountering Christ afresh in every moment. Zschech's prayer is that this collection of songs would play a part in people's story as they too are reminded of God's incredible faithfulness.
