Dr. Gladys Childs understands how our circumstances can try to shake us and make us want to do anything and everything except the one thing we need to do - praise God. I know - how backwards it sounds! And this is why we're talking about this today. In hopes praise will become the seedling and even more - our very response to life's circumstances - the good and the hard. For our circumstances do not change the foundation of our faith: God is still God. Dr. Gladys Childs, the 'Truth Doctor,' meets people at the crossroads of faith and life's challenges, offering clarity, hope, and practical wisdom. As a Religion professor, pastor's wife, author, speaker, and mom, she empowers individuals to navigate life's toughest moments with unwavering truth and faith. Learn more at gladyschilds.com. Every person alive in 2020 was impacted by COVID-19 in some form or fashion. My guest, Lieutenant Colonel Leslie Chandler, was no exception. She serves as a chaplain in the Georgia National Guard.Married twenty years and then having to navigate a divorce during a deployment to Afghanistan prior to COVID was a difficult challenge.Leslie found joy again when she reconnected with the love of her life, Greg. They enjoyed almost four years of marriage before COVID impacted her husband. Two weeks of a health roller coaster nightmare. Good days followed by bad days. Leslie shared, “I knew the second he [Greg] died. I could feel life leave him. And I could literally feel life leave me.”She already knew God's presence, but He poured it into her in a way she hadn't experienced before. She was an empty vessel, and God poured in His love.Memorable quotes from Leslie Chandler:· “The chaplain can't be going through trauma in the war zone because all of the trauma came to me.”· “One of the things that chaplains sometimes struggle with is they can't relate to soldiers on a very personal level because not many chaplains are divorced. Not many chaplains have endured rejection.”· “I wouldn't wish it upon anybody, but the revelation of God that I've experienced in the last four years I would wish on everyone.”Bible verses:· Psalm 125:2· Isaiah 6:1· Isaiah 6:8· Leslie's fight verse is Philippians 4:6-7Send me a COMMENT or QUESTION!THANK YOU FOR LISTENING! The End is Near. Don't Procrastinate. Oh great, here we go again. Another message that begins with vanity of vanities, all is vanity. A generation goes, a generation comes. There's nothing new under the sun. You might think your thing is new, your thing is the ultimate. I have found it. You have figured it all out. Then the seasons come, and with the changing seasons come harsher and harsher weather says the preachers in the book of Ecclesiastes. In the last chapter, chapter 12, he's talking about old age. The weather just keeps getting worse as you get older. If you are at that age where you occasionally might wet your pants, you get the part about the clouds return after the rain. It's all a metaphor for all the hardships one endures as one ages. The end is harsh. The preacher says these are evil days that bring no pleasure. So what's his advice as we wrap up this wisdom literature? What do we do with a life that in all estimation is a crap shoot as to what you will get. Maybe it goes well for you for a while. Maybe not. Life hands out lottery tickets and the winner lost the winning ticket between the car seats a week ago. The number grows. Maybe next week. Maybe not. So, final words of wisdom, Mr. Preacher Man? Solomon would say one thing. Remember the Lord in the days of your youth. Oh, and fear God and keep His commandments, this is the whole duty of humankind. That's it? Remember God when you have all your faculties and fear the Lord? That's the best you can do after ranting about the futility of life for 11 chapters? I can hardly wait for the answer.
The Dream Interpreter Daniel 2:14-49 | Unshakeable Series - Part 2 Main Message: When facing impossible situations, seek God's wisdom through prayer, community, and humble dependence. Sermon Overview We've all faced those crushing moments when we're backed into a corner and need wisdom beyond our abilities. In Daniel 2, we find Daniel facing a literally impossible situation—King Nebuchadnezzar demands that his wise men not only interpret his dream but first tell him what he dreamed. When they can't, he orders the execution of all wise men in Babylon, including Daniel and his friends. Daniel's response reveals four transformative truths about handling life's impossible situations: 1. Prayer is our first response, not our last resort When death was at his door, Daniel's first instinct wasn't to panic or negotiate—it was to pray. He understood that desperate situations require desperate prayer, positioning himself to receive God's wisdom from the beginning rather than exhausting himself in his own strength first. 2. God works through community, not just individuals Daniel immediately involved his three closest friends in urgent, focused prayer. There's a multiplication of faith that happens when believers unite in prayer for impossible situations. Corporate prayer creates accountability, shares burdens, and multiplies breakthrough. 3. God reveals His mysteries to those who seek Him When Daniel sought wisdom for his immediate crisis, God gave him insight into His eternal purposes—revealing not just the dream's meaning but His plan for all human history. Sometimes when we pray for guidance in current struggles, God shows us how they fit into His bigger story. 4. Humility magnifies God's glory and multiplies our influence When asked if he could interpret the dream, Daniel replied, "No, I can't—but God can." His humility didn't diminish his effectiveness; it amplified it. The result? King Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged Daniel's God, Daniel was promoted to rule over Babylon, and his friends were elevated to key positions. Key Applications Develop a "Prayer First" response system - Make prayer your immediate response to difficult situations rather than your last resort Build your "impossible situation" prayer team - Identify 2-3 mature believers you can call for urgent prayer support Steward your influence with humility - Use whatever platform God gives you to serve others and glorify Him The Bottom Line The same God who revealed Nebuchadnezzar's dream to Daniel wants to give you wisdom for your impossible situation. But it starts with acknowledging you can't do it alone and positioning yourself to receive His supernatural insight through prayer, community, and humble dependence. Remember: God doesn't call the equipped—He equips the called. When you make yourself available to Him, there's no telling what impossible things He might do through you. Part of the "Unshakeable" sermon series exploring how to stand firm in faith during life's most challenging seasons.
God is sovereign. He chooses to show mercy as He wills. Romans 9 reminds us: we are the clay, not the potter. And yet, in Matthew 9, we see the heart of that same sovereign God when Jesus says, “I desire mercy, not sacrifice.” This devotional holds both truths together: God has absolute authority, and His desire is mercy. When life feels unfair or confusing, remember—you don't have to understand His decisions to trust His character.
Have you ever battled that sinking feeling of discouragement while trying to change your relationship with alcohol? That overwhelming sense that maybe your efforts don't matter, that progress seems impossible, or that your excuses are simply too powerful to overcome? In this deeply vulnerable episode, I share my recent struggle with discouragement in my own ministry. Despite years of helping women find freedom from alcohol dependence, I found myself questioning if my work was making any difference—if anyone even cared about the message of alcohol freedom. This raw conversation reveals how discouragement functions not just as an emotion, but as one of the enemy's most powerful weapons against our growth and freedom.Discouragement thrives on fear, doubt, and obstacles. It zeroes in on our vulnerabilities and tries to blind us to the truth of who we are and whose we are. The enemy wants us to fixate on our failures, forget God's goodness, and believe we're incapable of meaningful change. But there's profound hope in recognizing this spiritual attack for what it is.Whether you're just beginning to question your relationship with alcohol or you're well along your sobriety journey, this episode offers comfort, solidarity, and practical wisdom for those moments when discouragement threatens to derail your progress. Remember: God's grace is sufficient, His power is made perfect in weakness, and with His help, you can push through even the toughest days.Walking with Purpose Catholic Women's Bible Study: https://walkingwithpurpose.com/bible-study/Drop us a Question or CommentBreak free from alcohol with Christ-centered guidance, community support, and powerful tools. Rom. 11:25-32. 6/1/25. An expositional sermon from the letter to the Romans.
This Final Episode of Season 4 touches on how Faith is more powerful than any steps we may take to get something done. Some of us believes that God can't or will not bless unless we have our hands in the situation and this is not always the case. Remember God does not need us to be God but loves when we obey and trust in who He is.
Your Daily Portion – How to Study Bible Prophecy | Lesson 10 of 13Session Overview- Date: May 31, 2025 (Sabbath)- Host: L. David Harris- Program: Your Daily Portion- Theme: The Ends Have Come Upon Whom the Ends Have Come- Focus: Interpreting Bible prophecy with a lens on the last days, recognizing both warnings and promises in Scripture.---Key Biblical Reference: 1 Corinthians 10:11–13> "Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come."> "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."---Section 1: Recognizing Warnings and Missing PromisesKey Points:- Many believers see the warnings in Scripture but miss the promises.- God's people often become self-reliant and forget that every good gift comes from Him.- Historical events (e.g., Exodus) are not just ancient history—they are prophetic models for today.Important Examples:- Exodus Generation: Except for Joshua and Caleb, the first generation did not enter the Promised Land due to unbelief.- Manna, Water from the Rock, Unworn Shoes: God provided miraculous daily needs.- Babylonian Captivity: God's people needed to be removed from Babylon, but also needed Babylon removed from them.Memory Aid:> "Warnings without promises lead to fear. Promises without warnings lead to pride. Together, they lead to faith."---Section 2: God's Faithfulness in the Last DaysKey Points:- We live in the last days, and God's Word is especially relevant now.- God gives examples from history to teach us how to live today.- The stories are not just to warn us, but to show us who God is—faithful, powerful, and merciful.Faithful God Framework:- Faithful Deliverer: God delivers us from every sin and temptation.- Faithful Provider: He supplies every need.- Faithful Guide: He gives a way of escape in every trial.Quote to Remember:> "God can perfectly steer the events that will happen in the last days, events that He revealed to the prophets, but He won't force you to love or serve Him."---Section 3: Interpreting Bible Prophecy with PurposeKey Points:- Bible prophecy is not just about future events—it's about character transformation.- Ask yourself: What does this teach me about God? About my time? About His faithfulness?- Prophecy should lead us to Jesus, the faithful Rock.Actionable Questions:- What does this story teach me about God's justice?- What does it teach me about God's mercy?- How does this story point to deliverance in the last days?Analogy:> "Bible prophecy is like a mirror—showing not only what's ahead, but also what's inside us."---Section 4: Free Will and Prophetic FulfillmentKey Points:- God respects free will, but still fulfills prophecy.- We can choose to follow God or not—but the best choice is clear.- The Bible gives us both warnings and invitations.Quote to Remember:> "Whatever way you're gonna go, if God be God, serve Him."---Section 5: Summary and EncouragementKey Takeaways:- Warnings in Scripture are real, but so are the promises.- God is faithful—He will provide strength and a way out in every trial.- Bible prophecy should be read through a last-days lens.- We are called to serve God fully, trusting in His promises.Closing Scripture:> "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." – Matthew 4:4---Study Tips & Memory AidsMnemonics:- W.A.R.N. – Warnings, Always, Reveal, Needs (to also look for the promises)- P.R.O.M.I.S.E. – Promises Reveal Our Motivation, Inspire Strength, and EncourageFrameworks:- The 3 Lenses Approach: 1. Historical Lens – What happened? 2. Prophetic Lens – What does this mean for today? 3. Personal Lens – What does this teach me about God and myself?- Promise Sandwich: - Bottom Layer – The Warning - Middle Layer – The Trial or Temptation - Top Layer – The Promise of DeliveranceReflection Questions:- What warning am I seeing in this passage?- What promise is connected to it?- How does this help me trust God more today?Analogy:> "The Bible is like a GPS—giving both warnings about the road ahead and the route to safety."---Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/your-daily-portion-with-l-david-harris--2912188/support.
Ever felt like your faith was hanging by a thread—but you were too afraid to say it out loud?In this episode, I sit down with author, speaker, and spiritual guide Niki Hardy to talk about her newest book, God, Can We Chat?, and the freedom we find when we stop pretending everything's fine and bring our real questions to God.After walking through deep grief, spiritual burnout, and what she calls “death by a thousand paper cuts,” Niki realized that asking hard questions didn't mean she was losing her faith—it meant she was fighting for it.Together, we unpack:Why your doubts aren't dangerous—but actually essential to real faithHow to ask God hard questions without fear, guilt, or shameThe 5 lies we believe that keep us from honest conversations with GodThe CHAT framework to help you process pain with God (and not just about Him)Why Jesus gives you permission to wrestle, grieve, and not have it all figured outWhether you're grieving, burnt out, or secretly scared you're losing your faith—this conversation will remind you that God welcomes your questions and walks with you through the mess.✨ Quote to Remember:“God isn't intimidated by your questions—He's already holding space for them.”

“What To Do When You Don't Know What To Do” May 11, 2025 2 Chronicles 20:1-23 Rev. Bill Vogler Sermon Application [file] ----more---- 2 Chronicles 20:1 After this the Moabites and Ammonites, and with them some of the Meunites, came against Jehoshaphat for battle. [2] Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, “A great multitude is coming against you from Edom, from beyond the sea; and, behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar” (that is, Engedi). [3] Then Jehoshaphat was afraid and set his face to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. [4] And Judah assembled to seek help from the Lord; from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord. [5] And Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court, [6] and said, “O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you. [7] Did you not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend? [8] And they have lived in it and have built for you in it a sanctuary for your name, saying, [9] ‘If disaster comes upon us, the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and before you—for your name is in this house—and cry out to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.' [10] And now behold, the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade when they came from the land of Egypt, and whom they avoided and did not destroy— [11] behold, they reward us by coming to drive us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit. [12] O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” [13] Meanwhile all Judah stood before the Lord, with their little ones, their wives, and their children. [14] And the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly. [15] And he said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the Lord to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God's. [16] Tomorrow go down against them. Behold, they will come up by the ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end of the valley, east of the wilderness of Jeruel. [17] You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.' Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.” [18] Then Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the Lord, worshiping the Lord. [19] And the Levites, of the Kohathites and the Korahites, stood up to praise the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice. [20] And they rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. And when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe his prophets, and you will succeed.” [21] And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to the Lord and praise him in holy attire, as they went before the army, and say, “Give thanks to the Lord, for his steadfast love endures forever.” [22] And when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set an ambush against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed. [23] For the men of Ammon and Moab rose against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, devoting them to destruction, and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they all helped to destroy one another. Welcome to The Daily, where we go through the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every single day. We are in the last chapter of Ecclesiastes. That means today we are 6 days away from starting the Gospel of Mark. Go to the website and grab the Scripture Journal for this study so you can study along with us. Today, we're looking at Ecclesiastes 12:1: Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them.” — Ecclesiastes 12:1 There's a temptation to put off getting serious about our faith until later in life. To assume we'll get around to God when life slows down or after we've experienced all that the world has to offer. But Solomon flips that thinking on its head. He says: "Remember your Creator"—now, not later. In the days of your youth. Not just when it is convenient or calm. Not when the pressure lets up. But while you're young, energetic, full of possibility. Why? Because evil days are coming. Aging is inevitable. Challenges will increase. Pain will multiply. And it becomes harder to build a foundation of faith when life begins to wear you down. Youth is a gift, people. It's a window of opportunity. It's a season when your heart is still moldable, your body is still able, and your mind is still open. That's when you need to anchor yourself to the truth of who God is. "Remember" here also doesn't mean a fleeting thought—it means live like God is your personal Maker, Designer, and Architect. Make decisions that reflect his authority. Build habits that honor his design. Shape your values around his Word. Because the days will come when you'll look back and realize how vital those early decisions were. The strength you'll need for tomorrow must be cultivated right now, today! Don't wait until life breaks you to bow your heart. Remember Him now—before regret writes your story. #FaithNow, #Ecclesiastes12, #LiveAnchored ASK THIS: What does it mean to remember God in your youth? Have I been delaying spiritual growth for a more "convenient" time? What habits am I forming that anchor me to God's truth? How do I want to look back on my youth in light of eternity? DO THIS: Build one spiritual habit today that reflects God's design for your life—don't delay. PRAY THIS: Father, help me to remember You now while I still have strength, clarity, and opportunity. Teach me to live today in a way that honors You for a lifetime. Amen. PLAY THIS: I Believe.

Ever felt bored in church and wondered, "Is this even working? Does this mean I'm not really saved?" You're not alone. Here's the truth: Boredom doesn't determine your salvation. The power of God's Word works regardless of how you feel about it. American Christianity often measures faith by emotions, but that's not the true measure of faith. What to remember when you're bored:✅ Your salvation isn't dependent on perfect attention or emotional experiences. ✅ It's based on what Jesus has done for you. ✅ The Word does what God promises, whether you feel it or not.Practical tips:✅ Keep showing up, even when it's boring✅ When your mind wanders, gently bring it back✅ Take notes during the sermon✅ Write down distracting thoughts so you can let them goChurch might seem boring sometimes, but that repetition serves you when life is anything but boring — in hospitals, during stressful times, or when it feels like everything is falling apart. Recognize this struggle as one more area where you need Jesus. Even your inability to pay attention is covered by His grace.Remember: God loves you and meets you exactly where you are — fidgety, distracted, bored and all. Your feelings don't determine His faithfulness.Contributor Chris Brademeyer is Pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Oakes, ND.Contributor Rev. What has play got to do with suffering? Annie F. Downs has built her career on having fun. Her New York Times bestseller titles include That Sounds Fun, Remember God, and 100 Days to Brave. Her new book for kids seems very different from the fun-loving Downs. Downs explains how the death of her nephew TJ led her to write a children's book to help kids (and grownups) understand suffering and loss at the same time as the love of God. In this episode, Downs tells us what surprised her about how kids respond to this kind of suffering and what that taught her about getting rid of fake platitudes, about what to do when someone you love is hurting, and about how to genuinely grieve while still recognizing a world of joy, hope, and even fun. Adversity is a normal part of life, and a normal part of the Christian life. In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally reveals what we should remember as we walk through adversity. 1 Peter 4:12 NLTGod allows adversity because it matures us. So how do we not just go through adversity, but grow through adversity? The key to overcoming adversity is remembrance. Biblical remembrance is actively recalling and expecting God's past goodness to happen again in the future. Psalm 77:7-12 NLT is a perfect example of how remembrance defeats the discouragement of adversity. This psalmist had very real feelings. You can choose to dwell on your feelings, or you can choose to remember God's faithfulness. What should we remember during times of adversity?1. Remember to pray.Prayer is communication with God. It's talking to Him and letting Him talk to you.Psalm 34:17-18 NLT Adversity is coming. Don't start panicking, start praying! 2. Remember to praise.Praise and worship is the pathway into God's presence.Psalm 34:1 NLT Your praise is a powerful weapon. Stop worrying, start worshipping.Psalm 57:8 NLTPraise and worship is an act of defiance against adversity. 3. Remember to be patient.Psalm 37:7a NLT Patience is a muscle you can flex, and a mature Christian works it out. 4. Remember God's perspective.Life's trials are like puzzle pieces—you don't see the full picture yet, but God does. Adopt His perspective.Psalm 30:5b NLTAdversity is fleeting, but God's faithfulness is forever. 5. Remember God's promises.Psalm 119:50If God fulfilled His promises in the past, you can be sure He'll fulfill His promises in the future. 6. Remember God's people. The Church isn't just a place to go to; it's a people to grow with.Psalm 133:1 NIV Isolation weakens; community strengthens. A single coal removed from the fire quickly dies out. Stay connected to the flame.Prov 17:17 NIVWe don't pull away from one another during hard times; we press in. 7. Remember God's purpose.Psalm 57:2 When you forget God's purpose, you forfeit His peace.Romans 8:28When life shakes you, stand on what God has said, not what you see. In the 1968 Olympics, Tanzanian runner John Stephen Akhwari was injured in a fall during the marathon. Despite dislocating his knee, injuring his shoulder, and being in excruciating pain, he refused to quit. Hours after the race ended, he limped across the finish line. When asked why he kept going, he said: "My country did not send me 5,000 miles to start the race; they sent me to finish it." God didn't bring you this far to leave you now. Adversity is part of the race, but finishing with faith is what matters.Hebrews 12:1 Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.How are you responding to adversity?
Psalm 35:19–28, Luke 3:1–22, Numbers 9:15–11:3 Remember God's goodness to you, especially in Christ, who is the ‘high priest of the good things' God gives (Hebrews 9:11).
Psalm 35:27b (MSG), Luke 3:2–22, Numbers9:16–32 Remember God's goodness to you, especially in Christ, who is the ‘high priest of the good things' God gives (Hebrews 9:11).

In this week's episode of Next Step Leadership, Chris and Tracy loved their conversation with Pastor Jonathan Altman. You will love it also. Take time to listen in. Think of what parts of Jonathan's story remind you about your story and the lives of people you know. What thoughts come to your mind as you hear about his parents' divorce? About him drifting away from God? About dealing with sadness and grief? About surrendering his heart to God? About his calling into the ministry, his time of reluctance to obey that invitation to ministry and his eventual willingness to say yes? About his heart for missions and his obedience into local church leadership? About working through his deep wounds and feeling alone? As you process his story, think about where God has guided you in the past and where He is taking you in the present. Remember God's love and refuse to attempt to endure life alone.https://www.spphc.com/staff

What's holding you back from the profitability God designed you for? In part 2 of our series on barriers to biblical profit, we're tackling two massive obstacles that keep Christian women from being as profitable as they have the potential to be: the myth of perfect timing and the lack of consistency. If you've ever caught yourself saying "I'm waiting for the right time" or struggled to stay consistent in building something meaningful, this episode will give you both the biblical perspective and practical steps to move forward in confidence.
Stephanie engages in a heartfelt conversation with renowned worship leader Darlene Zschech, who likes to remind us that learning to trust God is a superpower! Darlene invites us into a life of authentic worship. She challenges us to cultivate a heart rooted in humility, to pursue genuine connection with God, and to understand the profound impact of living a life centered around worship. Darlene emphasizes the necessity of approaching worship without pressure or performance. She underscores that God's love is unconditional and is not influenced by our achievements or failures. This invites us to worship and create from a place of freedom, where we can focus on building a sincere relationship with God rather than seeking approval or validation from others. Darlene shares her own journey, highlighting how she learned to adore God not for His gifts or as a task to check off, but simply to be in His presence. God's delight in us is not contingent upon our accomplishments, but is inherent to our relationship with Him. Engaging with God without any agenda other than presence leads to an authentic worship experience. Darlene's wisdom reminds us that trusting God is a superpower. Her personal experiences, including battling cancer, illustrate God's faithfulness and the necessity of discerning His voice. Humility in worship is non-negotiable. Darlene speaks to the trap of self-sufficiency, particularly for those naturally inclined to leadership and capability. She insists on the importance of shedding self-reliance and embracing humility to fully trust and depend on God. In a world craving attention, Darlene values the hidden life and the importance of remaining true to worship's essence. Her journey reminds us to fight for a culture of truth and humility. Darlene's experiences illustrate the significance of nurturing deep roots in God's Word and maintaining accountability in our faith walk. She cautions against the allure of fame and the pressure to create commercialized versions of worship, advocating instead for a focus on genuine expression that aligns with God's heart. Darlene's testimony of God's faithfulness during her battle with cancer is particularly moving, as she reminds us to trust both God's whisper and shouts alike. Nurturing a close relationship with God prepares us to discern His guidance during pivotal moments. Stephanie asks Darlene about the church's role in cultivating worship leaders. Darlene stresses the importance of mentoring and discipleship within worship teams, encouraging leaders to uphold a culture of truth, confidence, and humility. This environment ensures that the focus remains on facilitating worship towards God rather than self-glorification. Darlene's experience with Christians in India teaches us about true devotion and reliance on God. When comfort isn't an option, desperation calls out to God, showcasing His incredible faithfulness. Here are some of the key insights Stephanie will remember from her conversation with Darlene. Make them your own, or add some more! 1. Embrace Your Identity in Christ: God loves you unconditionally, regardless of your actions or achievements. 2. Delight in God's Presence: Prioritize spending time with God, not just for what you can gain, but for simply being with Him. 3. Practice Humility and Confidence: Strive for the combination of these qualities in your faith and life. 4. Cultivate a Life of Worship: Lead others to focus on God's worth, not your own abilities. 5. Seek to Align Desires with God's Will: Spend time in His word to align your heart with His plan. 6. Nurture a Hidden Life: Value your private relationship with God over public recognition. 7. Be Anchored in a Sure Foundation: Start each day with devotion and prayer, positioning yourself for what the day brings. 8. Serve with Excellence: Honor God through high standards in your work, recognizing Him as the source of your abilities. 9. Surrender to God's Will: Continually submit your life to Him and trust in His faithfulness. 10. Remember God's Faithfulness: Regularly reflect on and remember His past faithfulness as a source of encouragement. 11. Lead by Example in Worship: Facilitate a genuine connection between people and God, elevating them to see His worth. 12. Guard Your Heart: Continually examine and protect your heart against pride and complacency. 13. Embrace the Power of Influence: Use influence responsibly and to glorify God, while ensuring roots are deep in His word. 14. Remain Teachable: Continuously seek mentorship and embrace correction and growth. 15. Trust God Beyond Self-Reliance: Let go of self-sufficiency and put trust fully in God, who desires to guide your path. 16. Value Discipleship and Community: Learn from and contribute to the community around you for spiritual growth. MORE ABOUT “TESTAMENT”, DARLENE'S LATEST ALBUM New album "Testament" is not just about memories, it's a statement that worship leads to encountering Christ afresh in every moment. Australian worship leader Darlene Zschech unveils her highly anticipated studio album, “Testament.” The new release marks the milestone 30-year anniversary of “Shout to the Lord,” a song that became an anthem for the church worldwide. It is also a stake in the ground to the faithfulness of God, as the title track declares: “My testament is you.” Stirred by friends and family, Zschech crafted a collection of 25 reimagined legacy songs and five brand-new tracks. From iconic songs such as “Cry of the Broken” and “Victor's Crown,” to fresh offerings like “Spirit of the Living God” and “Yes Again,” each song carries a powerful sound that is just as vibrant today. It also features many artists like Martin Smith, SVRICINA, Mitch Wong, and Michael W. Smith among others, as well as various choirs and the Australian Christian Orchestra, creating an expansive and eclectic project filled with the sound of praise, thanksgiving, and rich collaboration. This album embodies Zschech's story and her experience of God's unfailing love, not only in worship ministry but in each intricate details of her life too. It's a family project, described by the artist as “songs that have deep meaning to my family, that have helped shape me and kept my focus heavenward.” “Testament” weaves together songs that have been the soundtrack to her children's lives, her battle with cancer, and her adventures planting churches and starting non-profits alongside her husband. It also features multiple family members, including Zschech's daughter, Zoe Cameron, on “Shout to the Lord.” Commenting on this central song, which was penned before Zoe's birth, Zschech said: “I wrote it quickly while crying out to God about our future, saying that no matter what, we will follow him. I was young in age and young in God. ‘Shout to the Lord' changed things around us, but the things that really matter never changed and never will: God is faithful and attentive to our prayers.” Harnessing this central theme of faithfulness, “Testament” communicates its close relationship to obedience and thankfulness. It's the sound flowing out of a lifetime lived with the Lord, the very meaning of worship. Zschech is adamant that worship is not a genre but the whole of one's life poured out for the glory of God: “I'll always find it hard to wrap my head around the miracle of worship, music, and song. There's really no other vehicle available to us on earth that has the ability to bring to attention our mind, auditory senses, resting our hearts, moving the soul and spirit to a point when your whole self is pointed in the one direction. Such is the power of worship as the Holy Spirit leads our heart heavenward, Jesus-ward, through the magnificent sound of sacred song.” “Testament” is not just about memories, but it's a statement that worship leads to encountering Christ afresh in every moment. Zschech's prayer is that this collection of songs would play a part in people's story as they too are reminded of God's incredible faithfulness.
