She moved to Iowa in 1997 to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic.She graduated from Palmer with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 2001. After graduation, she worked as an associate chiropractor in clinics in Illinois and South Dakota. Jim Field visits with Nick Turner, an Elliott native and Griswold graduate, who, after college joined the Marines and became a Marine One pilot. Nick still flies helicopters and is making a re-fueling stop at the Atlantic Airport Saturday, May 9th on his way to an event in Council Bluffs. Nick is flying a Vietnam-era 1961 Sikorsky UH-34D. He anticipates his stop in Atlantic will be for less than half an hour at around 11:00 am - 11:30 am.

Born in El Salvador and now living in Council Bluffs, her story spans migration and motherhood, trauma and healing, and the discovery of a public voice turning her lived experience into advocacy for belonging, community, and care for others.Torres came as a child to the United States. On this episode we hear from three Iowans who were involved in the historic Artemis II mission that was completed on April 11. Madison Tuttle of West Des Moines, Jack Sieleman of Waukee, and Alex Brewer of Council Bluffs are all relatively early in their careers, but they've spent all that time working at either the Kennedy or Johnson space centers. They each share about their love of space exploration — whether lifelong or found on the job — and what their roles were in the preparation and execution of Artemis II.
