No matter who you are, what you've lived through, or where you've come from, the story of how God relentlessly pursues us has the power to change our lives. He chose to come down to our messy, broken world, to prove His great love. Rather than us reaching up to heaven, heaven came down to earth. --- In the good and the bad, the mountains and the valleys, God is with you. Tune in to Week Four of God With Us as Pastor Skyler touches on how even in the waiting, God is with us!
Life often feels overwhelming, just as it did for young Mary when the angel Gabriel appeared with life-changing news. Before delivering his announcement, Gabriel called Mary highly favored and told her to rejoice. He didn't promise to change her difficult circumstances, but highlighted the joy already present because she was beloved by God. We can become highlighters of joy for others by truly noticing people, speaking encouragement out loud, and bringing moments of lightness to their days. This doesn't mean ignoring real problems, but helping people see goodness and possibilities they may have lost sight of when life became too much to handle.
Warning: This episode contains an alarming amount of chat about a mysterious stranger called Derek and more casual mentions of “minge” in the first four minutes than any of us could ever have anticipated. It is funny, honest, slightly feral… and absolutely not one for the school run. Best enjoyed with headphones on and children safely out of earshot. So, you've just started your sober journey? Doing Dry January? Or quietly wondering what life might look like without booze? This episode is your brutally honest, slightly emotional roadmap through your first 30 days alcohol-free.Vic and Hamish take you through sobriety week by week, honestly unpacking what really happens to your body, brain, sleep, mood, social life, trousers, and overall sanity as alcohol slowly leaves the stage. Alongside plenty of science, swearing, and questionable oversharing, there are also genuinely tender moments where you might realise… you are actually doing this. Today we explore those early sugar cravings and wobbles, the sudden bursts of confidence that can catch you out, the strange emotional storms that roll in around Week Two, the clearer thinking and calmer days that begin to appear in Week Three, and that brilliant Week Four moment when you look at yourself and think, “Hang on… this might actually work.If you are five days in, swaying at day twelve, feeling uncertain at day twenty, or simply curious about how sobriety unfolds in real life, this episode gives you reassurance, humour, relatable stories, and genuinely helpful tools to get through it.You are not broken, you are healing. And honestly, you are doing something extraordinary.Press play, take a breath… and welcome to the awkward, hopeful, quietly life-changing first month of sober life.

As Advent draws to a close, Saint Joseph invites us to make room—not just in our homes, but in our hearts. In Week Four of A Quiet Light, we reflect on Saint Joseph, Most Obedient, and pray with Matthew 1:18–24. This Gospel reminds us that obedience isn't about having all the answers—it's about trusting God enough to take the next step. Joseph heard the call, woke up, and did what the Lord asked. No hesitation. Just love in motion. The word we're sitting with this week? ✨ Trust. The kind that chooses surrender over control, even when the path ahead feels uncertain. Our invitation this week is simple: notice where God may be knocking. Where might He be asking you to make room for Him—again or for the first time? Ask for the grace to say yes, even if it feels uncomfortable or unfinished.
This sermon for the fourth Sunday of Advent focuses on love, emphasizing that God enters the "messy" and imperfect realities of life. By examining the genealogy in Matthew 1, the speaker highlights God's faithfulness through forty-two generations of flawed individuals. The story of Joseph illustrates a "costly commitment" to trust God's plan over societal expectations or fear. Ultimately, the message of "Emmanuel" assures believers that God is present in their struggles and invites them to surrender their pursuit of perfection to Jesus. The Christmas narrative places salvation before us. The question is will we see our salvation with the eyes of our hearts. Advent reminds us that salvation is for all, but some refuse to see. So the question is not whether Jesus came for you. The question is whether you truly see Him.

This week we are invited to release the pressure of trying to manufacture hope, peace, joy, or love, and instead recognize that these realities exist outside of us because they are eternally rooted in Jesus, who is love itself. Through Psalm 136, we see that God's steadfast love (“hesed”) meets us before we exist in creation, remains with us in the ruins of suffering and loss, and sustains us in the quiet ordinariness of daily life. Ultimately, Advent reveals a love so committed that God walks the covenant path alone—fulfilled in Christ's birth and cross—proving that His steadfast love endures forever, not because we hold it together, but because He does.Support the show

PODCAST “LOVE” On this fourth Sunday of Advent, we light the candle of Love. We remember that God's love entered the world not with power or prestige, but in humility—through a newborn child laid in a manger. In the birth of Jesus, we see love made visible, personal, and near. (Recorded: December 21, 2025)

It's one thing to hear the words of Jesus… It's another to face them. This week, we come to the hardest part yet — the words that don't just challenge what we believe, but what we want to believe. He said the path is narrow. He said not everyone who calls Him “Lord” will enter. He said we'd be hated because of His name. These aren't soft sayings. They're sharp — cutting through comfort, slicing open the illusion that faith is easy. But inside the fear… there's a strange kind of freedom. Because when the words of Jesus strip everything away, what's left is truth — and truth never flinches. This is Week Four of Scary Things Jesus Said. Welcome to Motion Church. Where the brave listen.
