Executive Director Audrey along with Kate, Fundraising Coordinator, from the Iowa City Bike Library are on the podcast to talk about all things bike library. What is a ‘bike library'? On a high level, it is a place to rent, borrow or buy a used bicycle. But it is so much more. They have done a spectacular job making their space a welcome place for everyone in the community. They have had great success with programs, events, and keeping their shop full of usable bikes, and they believe every community should have the same available to anyone who wants to get into, or back into cycling. www.icbikelibrary.org Registration for RAGBRAI LII is open! www.ragbrai.com Watch, or listen on our Just Go Bike YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/@JustGoBikePodcast Have a topic for a future episode? Congratulations to Scott Matter who has been named the new Executive Director of the Dream Team! The Dream Team is a 5 month mentorship program for youth in the Des Moines area. The goal is to learn life skills, and so much more, one pedal stroke at a time. At the end of the program, the team rides RAGBRAI! This is a completely volunteer based organization and this time of year they are recruiting and getting ready to launch with a new team of both volunteer mentors along with the next generation of youth cyclists. Scott is on to tell us more about the Dream Team and his goals for the next group of youth and mentors. Find out more about Scott and the team at www.dreamteamdesmoines.org.
