Intro Crystal Wagner CEO of Triumphant Learning and host of the All in a Homeschool Day Podcast, As a life and homeschool coach with over 13 years of homeschooling experience Crystal helps parents cultivate a thriving home atmosphere. She loves reading books, researching and finding great resources, organizing and making lists, and sharing what she knows and finds with others. What sparked all of this was that early in her homeschool journey, she found a support group that met monthly. It was a safe place to learn from homeschool moms who were a little ahead of me on the journey. The support group became the lifeline that kept her going on difficult days. And now, she has the privilege of supporting other homeschool parents. Top three takeaways How her work helps homeschool parents who are struggling and empowers them to become more confident in teaching their own child. The most important change you can make is to learn how to be a thermostat so you can set the tone of your home. You don't have to make big changes to see a significant difference in your home. Making small changes compounds over time. Call to Action Triumphant Learning Official Website What is Next! Thank you for supporting this show by listening and sharing with friends! A visual artist known for her hand-cut, wall-mounted paper forms and immersive, site-specific sculptures. Crystal's colorful work exudes wonder and whimsy while being constructed from humble everyday materials like chicken wire and repurposed children's birthday party tablecloths. Her sprawling installations can be seen bursting off of gallery walls and engulfing the outside of buildings from Lodz, Poland to Burlington, Vermont. She earned a BFA from the Atlanta College of Art in 2004 and received her MFA from the University of Tennessee in 2008. After a brief stint of teaching art at a college-level for five years, Crystal left academia to focus exclusively on her studio practice. She achieved her greatest notoriety for her immense, biomorphic site works that envelop the interiors and exteriors of buildings. These exuberant, boldly colored forms have a robust, eye-popping appeal. She is booked for installations in Miami, Arizona, Italy, Switzerland and France. On this episode, multi-dimensional wonder worker Crystal Wagner explains how she produced some of her most explosive works, tells us what it means to be an art generator and reveals that she has a tattoo of an exacto knife.

Habit training does not happen overnight. You will need to devote time and energy to developing the habit of obedience in your home. Don’t become overwhelmed by expecting perfect obedience immediately. Begin with one of the steps above and implement it faithfully. You will see results.
Today’s episode is going to be about anger, and patience and homeschooling, and I want to warn you all in advance that this is a vulnerable episode for me. I am going to be real, and honest, and hopefully by doing that I can encourage you all that you are not alone. Because, while I was on this unglued journey, I felt very alone. And judged. And it was hard. Moms, we will make mistakes. We all have our weak moments. Mine may be becoming unglued, yours may be something else. What is important is how we handle those mistakes. I don’t want crazy mommy days. I don’t want my children to remember mommy blowing up in anger. I want them to remember a joyful mommy who can control her emotions. I can sit and dwell on the days that I mess up, or I can choose to find a way to take those moments and learn from them. For me, these moments are a time of imperfect progress. A time to remember how far I have come, and that I still have work to do. If you liked this episode be sure to leave a rating or review. There was a stack of books sitting next to me on the driveway. We had just finished reading Aesop’s Fables and I told the girls to go play for ten minutes. I set the timer and got up to stretch as well. This was the routine for most of our school days for the first three years of our homeschooling. We completed two lessons (a reading and an activity), then took a 10-minute break for them to run and play. Even when my oldest was in third grade, we reverted back to this schedule on days she found it difficult to focus or if we took our lessons to the park. Have you ever had one of these days… There are just some days you want to join the fussy crowd. You wake up and are feeling confident about the day. Then you walk past your child’s room and say, “Good morning!” The response you receive is less than enthusiastic and you think, maybe she will cheer up before breakfast. She just needs to wake up. Then you sit down to eat. She’s not in a bad mood. She’s not even upset or angry. She’s just rather blah. The other daughter wakes up in a good mood, snuggles with you for awhile, and is pleasant and cheerful through breakfast. But later in the morning when she is supposed to be practicing her piano lesson she begins by BANGING on the keys in frustration. Your first response is to feel despondent—“Great! Another one of THOSE days.”—and join the grumpy crowd. Listen or read the rest at http://www.triumphantlearning.com/reacting-or-controlling-the-atmosphere-of-your-home/
