Rhonda Britten has been in the business of changing lives since 1995. She has become an expert in overcoming emotional fears from championing her own personal tragedies. In this insightful episode, Rhonda shares her miraculous journey, her acclaimed method called Fearless Living and how she sees the coaching industry move forward. Tune in to this new power-packed episode of the Conscious Marketer podcast — Key points covered in this episode: [00:01:10] Rhonda Britten was the first original life coach before coaching was even a thing. Named America's Favorite Life Coach, Rhonda is also an Emmy Award-winner, Repeat Oprah guest, Coach of the Year recipient, Standing Ovation Keynote Speaker, and Master Life Coach. She has changed lives in over 600 episodes of reality television and through her four bestselling books. She is the Founder of the Fearless Living Institute. [00:04:17] She shares her origin story as nothing short of miraculous, getting a divine intervention to follow the path of becoming a life coach. [00:08:10] Twenty-seven years since Rhonda started, she is advocating to help the coaching industry find its soul again. "The coaching industry as a whole is lost. It's watered down, and it makes me very sad." [00:16:51] It's imperative to be able to recognize fear in the face and the actual process of how it works in our day to day lives. Rhonda shares, " I help people understand what happens when they are triggered and what happens when they are in alignment. All of these things are learnable and doable. And when you build that awareness and understand how fear works, what happens is you don't take things personally anymore. You don't." [00:22:15] Interrupting is a skill, and most coaches don't know how to do it. Rhonda shares, "Most coaches, especially beginning coaches, are just too afraid. They feel like they're rude. But do you actually want to hear your client go on about the same thing over and over again, indulge them and allow them to think the way that they're framing the event in their life is OK? No, you don't. You want to be insightful enough to interrupt and ask the questions that will give your client that AHA. And then move them into homework so they can embody right." [00:30:04] The rise of coaches who try to deal with clients with trauma in the last five years poses why there has been more harm than good that came out of this. Rhonda strongly discourages coaches from blurring the lines and taking on the work that therapists are meant to do. [00:35:53] Rhonda has this to say to remind us to keep moving forward. "Every time that you're like, 'What's wrong with me?' 'Why did I do that?' 'I can't believe I did it again, 'I should have known better' or any of that baloney negative self-talk, remember that's all just a fear response. If you can start seeing that, everything changes. So there's nothing wrong with you, sweet ones. There's nothing wrong with you; it's just fear." ———————————————————— Rhonda Britten, named America's Favorite Life Coach, is an Emmy Award-winner, Repeat Oprah guest, Coach of the Year recipient, Standing Ovation Keynote Speaker, and Master Life Coach.
