During the last two decades, he's preformed with bands ranging from heavy metal, to rock with Alcatraz Shakedown, to more recently as Eric Bolander & These Assholes performing with an Appalachian sound reflecting Bolander's east Kentucky roots. In this interview, Bolander empathetically and honestly discusses the peaks and valleys of being a preforming artist while working as a full-time art teacher in the Fayette county public school system.

Originally from Eastern KY, and now based in Lexington, Eric Bolander is a voice taking the music world by storm. An Art Teacher by day and Musician by night, Eric's mind is always immersed in the arts. A passion for the arts that keeps him moving forward and a unique work ethic and discipline has slowly made Eric's name a music tastemaker's choice in the exploding musical scene coming out of the 'Bluegrass State'. While Eric has satisfied his rocking sensibilities doing vocal and guitar with the Rock Band Alcatraz shakedown, he worked the circuit for some time performing his own tunes, primarily solo and acoustic. The new phase of his career has him buddied up with three players: Seth Murphy, cello and multi-instrumentalist, and John Ferguson, keys/bass/vocals, and Ben Caldwell, drums/vocals.
