Legendary singer-songwriter, author, and rock ‘n' roll star Ian Hunter's illustrious career is now in its seventh decade. His rock ‘n' roll life has long been marked by collaboration, from the golden age of Mott the Hoople to his fabled partnership with Mick Ronson and 21st-century renaissance with his crack backing combo, the Rant Band. Over the years, Hunter has enjoyed numerous chart successes, especially Mott the Hoople's international hit “All the Young Dudes,” the David Bowie composition that emerged as a countercultural anthem in the 1970s. Hunter would later recount the trials and tribulations of his life with Mott the Hoople in his autobiography "Diary of a Rock 'n' Roll Star." During his solo career, Hunter's best known work includes the song "Once Bitten, Twice Shy", later covered by Great White, and "Cleveland Rocks,” (originally “England Rocks”) the popular theme song for "The Drew Carey Show." With his latest album DEFIANCE PART 1, Hunter takes creative solidarity to an unprecedented new level with accompaniment from a truly awe-inspiring roster of special guests, famous fans, and lifelong friends. DEFIANCE PART 1 sees backing from luminaries such as Ringo Starr, Jeff Beck, Todd Rundgren, Joe Elliott (of Def Leppard), Guns N' Roses' Slash, Jeff Tweedy and – in one of his final recordings – the Foo Fighters' late, great drummer Taylor Hawkins. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/everythingfabfour/support

In one survey, published in Psychology Today 80 percent of working adults—both with and without children—wished that they had more time to spend with their friends and family. Scientists have even coined the term “time famine” to describe the pervasive feeling of being overwhelmed with the demands of work and life. For Laurie Kaplan “As an epigenetic lifestyle coach, I create bespoke health and wellness plans based on the wisdom of your own DNA. Your Genes - Your Plan” I am currently alchemizing the life that I want to live based on the wisdom of my own genetics and body. As a dietitian nutritionist and epigenetic coach, I am able to "read" my client's genetic data and use science to create the best plan for them. Depending on what their goals are, this personal roadmap provides the framework to do this. Once I discovered my own genetics, I was able to shift to the living the life I knew was available to me yet felt forever out of reach. My passions are many -I've been riding and involved with horses since the age of 5 and worked in the horse industry for many years. I currently own 2 horses and am training for the Gaucho Derby - a 500km horse adventure race in Patagonia that takes place over 8 days in the Andes mountains. I am the caretaker of a 60 acre farm in central Illinois where I raise sheep and lamb for meat, chickens for their eggs and have a 4 bedroom 2 bath space for retreats. Horse yoga, anyone? I love caring for others and making sure that all the details create an unforgettable yet easy and fun experience. I create the theme and menu for the retreats by listening to the land and what message it wants me to share. This land has provided me with deep healing after my divorce from an abusive situation that lasted nearly 2 decades of my life. I am a musician currently playing drums which makes me so incredibly happy. My drum hero's are Taylor Hawkins and Dave Grohl. I am passionate about personal growth, have attended and crewed Tony Robbin's events and many other seminars and retreats. The growth and connection that has come from these experiences influence my entire life. I deeply care for each of my clients and am honored when someone chooses me as their guide. There are so many excellent coaches and mentors available so to have someone "pick me" is incredibly special. As a dietitian and epigenetic coach, I get to know each client at an extremely personal level. We go deep into creating the best nutrition, health and life plan for them that is the very foundation for their life. I have 2 boys who I absolutely adore. Alex, 20 and Christopher, 19, both off in university in places that they love. I am lucky. Beyond fortunate to have been gifted difficult situations which have ultimately shape who I am today. She joined me this week to tell me more. For more information: https://geneticallynourished.com/ Follow: @LaurieKaplan Instagram: @geneticallynourished

Well, it's that time again...another year is almost at an end—and once again, we have been subjected to the whims of the universe and human stupidity through 2022... It got better with covid but then we have the war in Ukraine...politics are more polarized than ever no matter where you go...social media is still making us stupider...and try as he might to leave the planet, Elon Musk is still here... When it comes to the world of music, we lost Taylor Hawkins, Andy Fletcher of Depeche Mode, Paul Ryder of The Happy Mondays, Mark Lanegan, Dallas Good of The Sadies, Meat Loaf, Ronnie Hawkins, Coolio, Olivia Newton-John, and Ronnie Spector, among others... It's still hard to make a living from streaming, artists are getting burned out on the road, and inflation is killing everyone... That's a lot to deal with...here's hoping that 2023 will be better...we gotta think that because otherwise, we'd go crazy...
