THEZROHOUR returns to the airwaves this week with the best in independent and underground hip hop. In this week's Producer's Corner we drop some heat from the one and only JAKE ONE and our Spotlight Artist of the week is from the crew Oceanz Thurteen- FLUKEY. DJ Ambush spins a classic set for the show too. If you missed us at this past Sunday's Brooklyn Night Bazaar where we put on a killer set, tune in and get familiar! I drop new music and some of my favorite heaters from THE PROFORMS, RANDOM AXE, ODDISEE, DTMD, CL SMOOTH, BDP, ETURNAL & DAMA NILZ, IMANI STONE, FARRAH BURNS, BLACK MILK & DANNY BROWN and more. Enjoy the show...
This week I continue to bring forward the best in indepenent/underground hip hop. The show features music from ULTRABEAST (Senor Kaos & 4-IZE), APATHY, ODDISEE, JEAN GRAE, PHONTE & ELZHI, BROWN BAG ALLSTARS, FRESH VETZ, 9TH WONDER feat. RAEKWON, DA KREEK, DANNY BROWN and others. Starting this week I premiered two new segments on THEZROHOUR- "Producer's Corner" and "Spotlight Artist". BATSAUCE (http://www.batsauce.com), producer of The Smile Rays and Lady Daisey among others is the first to bless the "Producer's Corner". I play a medley of some of his strongest bangers. "Spotlight Artist" is the section of the show where I play new music from artists you should be watching for. The first two "Spotlight Artists" of the week are Brooklyn, N.Y. emcee FARRAH BURNS (www.reverbnation.com/farrahburns) and Chicago, Illinois based Hip Hop/Alternative band ANTI-CREW (http://AnticrewMusic.com). Enjoy the show!
Call Farrah Burns the sister of hip hop invention; with her new highly anticipated sophomore album Oval Metal. She's established herself as a creative force all on her own. Successfully integrating rap, soul, Jazz, and R&B into her own sound. Born in Miami and raised in Brooklyn, New York she spent most of her youth listening to her mom’s multi-genre, multi-generational record collection. Coming from strong Haitian background music, food and politics was her family’s passion. She began writing poems and rapping at an early age. Despite her on-again off-again track record with independent labels her first single in 1998 "Never look for love in da club" featuring Rock from Heltah Skeltah is still being sold worldwide. Farrah Burns has made a name for herself by opening up for Dwele, Talib Kwali, Amel Larriuex and Tribe Called Quest. Headlining in New York City hot spots like Joes Pub, SOB's, BAM Cafe and Village Underground. Farrah Burns recently won the title of 5th Annual Hip Hop Show Champ. Were she made history across the score boards and taking home five thousand dollars in cash. Her new cd Oval Metal is re-introducing you to lost art of story telling. Her first single "Milky" has a Smokey nostalgic flow with a contagious chorus," at the end of the day Farrah Burns is the truth. "I was blessed with an amazing speaking voice it’s my only instrument aside from my heart that's going to change world" For more info: http://www.indiereviewcd.com https://twitter.com/IndieRevue https://www.instagram.com/indie.review --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/indie-review/support
