On Wednesday, November 5, IDF reservist Jonathan Karten planned to speak with a small group of Jewish students from Toronto Metropolitan University about the reality of the war in Gaza. Within moments of his arrival at the secret location for this meeting, he was attacked violently and injured. The students were terrified, taking cover under tables. What began as a small group of masked “protesters” yelling anti-Israel and antisemitic threats grew to dozens. In the first episode of this two-part series, we dive into the detail of what happened and how Toronto police handled the crisis. US Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, originally from Webster Springs, West Virginia, died after being shot Wednesday. US Air Force Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains in critical condition. Federal authorities have identified the suspected shooter as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, an Afghan national who previously worked with US forces and the CIA in Afghanistan before arriving in the US in 2021. He was subdued shortly after the shooting and taken into custody. Trump said he is in serious condition.2) President Trump called for “reverse migration” in the US as he outlined a series of potential measures to crack down on immigration, including halting admissions from unspecified developing nations and revoking citizenship from some naturalized migrants. In a pair of Truth Social posts late Thursday that disparaged many US immigrants, Trump said he would “permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries” and “denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility.” Trump offered no details on how he would implement these policies or what he considers a “third world” country, an ill-defined and often offensive term for developing nations. Congress for years has failed to pass major immigration reforms, and courts have blocked some of his previous executive orders limiting immigration.3) Washington's proposals for ending the war in Ukraine could be the basis for future agreements, but no final version exists yet, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, while signaling an openness to talks. Places which turned away warships with simple ribbons, or confounded pillagers with puzzles. As far as I can tell, the only way to encounter these guys is by generating an ambush on the shoreline or in the sea. And something is really FISHY about these jellyfish, too. They have original art, but it's almost like they're ripped directly from a different game in terms of their moves and stats and even their description! Maybe they're a holdover from the original Fabula Ultima game engine? Starter Tip: Even though they do bolt damage with those tentacles, they're also weak to bolt! They might sting you, but sting 'em right back. I don't really get this thing. It's like some seaweed that wants to choke you? Why. It doesn't have teeth. It doesn't have a mouth. It doesn't have a stomach. Seaweeds don't need to kill to survive. So why is this one trying to munch on the party!Starter Tip: Don't even bother to give them dazed, enraged, or shaken. They're immune!

In this encore episode of FBI Case File Review, John reviews the November 22, 1994, ambush at the DC Metro Police Headquarters where a gunman killed SAs Martha Dixon and Michael Miller, and MPD Sgt. Henry "Hank" Daly and John survived multiple gunshot wounds to the heart, liver, kidney, lung, arm and leg. For his actions that day, he was awarded the FBI Medal of Valor and U.S. Attorney General's Award for Exceptional Heroism in recognition of exceptional acts of heroism involving the voluntary risk of personal safety and life performed in the line of duty in the face of a criminal encounter. He was also awarded the FBI Star in recognition of serious injury and split-second decisions made under fire. John Kuchta served in the FBI for 27 years.
