Angel doesn't tell Buffy about meeting Drusilla in a creepy playground. Willow doesn't tell Buffy Angel was in her bedroom, getting her to dig up dirt on Ford, a childhood friend of Buffy's who has suddenly shown up in Sunnydale. Ford doesn't tell Buffy why he's really here. And Giles tells Buffy, and Miss Calendar, that he loves monster trucks. You know it's a going to be a wild ride when Xander is the only person who tells Buffy the truth. Hear us discuss… This episode is just full of lies! Kara convinces Steph just how significant this episode is Angel and Buffy's relationship gets emotionally deeper Spike remains such a delicious bad guy At the end of this, does Buffy really know whom she can trust? Trigger warning Cancer Social Media Links
Willow has a binary beau! While helping Giles and the new computer teacher, Miss Calendar, scan library books into the computer, Willow meets Malcolm online. As her obsession deepens, strange things start happening to computer systems around Sunnydale and beyond. Even Buffy's best spy look might not be enough to take on a demon loose in the internet. Hear us discuss… The show's take on online dating Kara's personal story of an online friendship made flesh! Stephanie's obsession with cults How much this episode gets right (and wrong) about the perils of computers We cannot get Miss Calendar's name right (sorry, Jenny) Trigger warnings… Cults, death by neck snapping, kidnapping, suicide (hanging)
Gilmore S2 E13: "A-Tisket, A-Tasket"/Buffy S2 E13: "Surprise" Who knew a wholesome little Stars Hollow picnic tradition could stir up such relationship drama? We've got breakups. We've got engagements. We've got emotional affairs. We've got Miss Patty matchmaking for Lorelai, despite having way too many potential suitors already. But hey! It's Buffy's birthday! So her broke-ass friends rent out the WHOLE bronze for an 8 person party! Meanwhile Dru's having a party in honor of just 1 guy, but he arrives in 8 parts. Plus, Miss Calendar's weirdo uncle comes to town with a WHOLE lot of new information.Don't forget to follow us on social for more Buffy/Gilmore content!Instagram:@gilmoreslayer@bryanandstacey@BMofunny@staceykulowTwitter:@gilmoreslayer@bryanandstacey@BMofunny@staceykulowFacebook:Bryan & StaceyBuffy the Gilmore SlayerTikTok:@gilmoreslayerYouTube:Bryan & StaceyCheck out bryanandstacey.com to find out what else we've been up to, or email us at:bryanandstaceyreviews@gmail.comTheme song written and performed by Louie Aronowitz @louiearonowitz
Madeline and Kaethe explore season 2 episode 7 "Lie to Me" through the theme of secrets. Secrets are bursting through the seams of this episode's pants: Angel is cagey about his history with Drusilla, Ford is tight-lipped about his plans to facilitate the slaughter of some vamp wannabes, and Miss Calendar is keeping Giles in the dark about the detes surrounding their upcoming date. At the end of this podcast episode, Kaethe and Madeline get to the juicy bit: What would be Miss Calendar's second option for a date?
Look out, a demon is on the net! In this episode, Kaethe and Madeline discuss the ways in which trust influences Willow's relationship with Buffy. They also dive into how trust plays a role in the anti-vaccine movement. More importantly, they privately wonder where Miss Calendar dangles her corkscrew.
In this episode of Fire Bad, Tree Pretty, Amanda and Lydia discuss S03E07 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Revelations." We apologize in advance for making you remember Bubba Sparxx. Points of interest: hipster Cordelia, Buffy's secret boyfriend, motorvation, thebomb.beanie, Ms. New Booty break, an asshole for the ages, #yesalloldwhiteguys, P.S. fuck off, basic book bitches, Mrs. Bitchtown USA, sexy couples tai chi, cold turkey corner reveals an unknowable mystery, Mr. Liam Angelus NoLastName Angel, exist stage bush, the other other white glove, Professor Pierce Mynhegon, another shitty intervention, the Miss Calendar card, have you heard the good news about adultery?, the term "ex-meat," Shovel Shack: I Dig It, the unwilling swingers club, and a sexy workaround to the perfect happiness clause.
Lo, our unplanned hiatus comes to an end! We're back, much like shitty James is back, only we're not going to shoot you and make you feel like it's your fault. We're discussing S02E18 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "I Only Have Eyes for You." Points of interest: The surprising origins of Sadie Hawkins Day, ghost gun logistics, vegan mention alert, the conspiracy to gloss over a huge plot hole involving Miss Calendar's computer, hot teachers, Kyle XY, nonchalant pre-Columbine depictions of guns in school, the questionable contents of Xander's locker, honestly though fuck James, late 90's pagan websites, Angel and his cattle, truly naked animals, wasps for everyone, "I guess Hitler felt sad sometimes," Buffy's weird as hell hair, throwing guns at people: don't do it, and last but definitely not least, some very seductive mooing.
In which we have hit the finale of Season 1 and the episode kinda makes Quetina shook. We opened a bottle of Prophecy Wine Red Blend and get into the end of Buffy's Sophomore year at Sunnydale High. Xander gets up the nerve to tell Buffy how he feels and ask her out- which doesn't exactly go his way. So what does he do? Double down on being an idiot and asks Willow to go to the dance, as friends. Yeah, she doesn't take it so well. Giles manages to translate the Codex and discovers that Buffy is in a prophecy- if she fights the Master, she will die. Unfortunately, as Giles is telling Angel about this, Buffy hears and tries to quit being the Slayer. We get some Miss Calendar, some Angel, we talk about Buffy's super 90's prom dress... it's a full episode for us. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/meet-at-the-bronze/support
