We got snow! Lorelei and Rory are working on a snowman for the snowman making contest. But they don't stand a chance. There's like a professional snowman maker there doing his thing.  Roon is back, folks! He's still working at the inn apparently. We also see Jackson! What an episode. Sooki is busy getting ready for this big dinner for this 17th century festival thing. Jackson is assigned to play the squire. Lorelei gets a call from Christopher. He wants Rory to come stay with him and sherry for a couple days during winter break.  They get bad news - the dinner is off. The group that was coming is snowed in. Since everything is already planned, they decide to just invite everyone in town!  Meanwhile, Dean the Saint breaks up a fight that Jess is having. Jess says I don't need your help.  This party has everyone from Paris to Richard & Emily. They're all very confused by Richard is suddenly in a great mood. Everywhere Rory turns, Jess is there just stating staring at her.  Apparently Lorelei hired a million horse and carriage rides for everyone. She ends up taking a ride with a Luke. He tells her that he's figured out the secret of parenting - lying. Lorelei breaks the news that kids know when you're lying.  While those two love birds take a ride, Jess hops on a sleigh with Rory. They have flirty fun time and then he's like I don't feel like Dean your is your type of guy. Rory is like what do you know?!  It's dinner time and Richard is the life of the party. And that's when it comes out - he's retired. This is news to literally everyone including Emily.  Before bed, Rory asks if she's heard from her dad. Lorelei is like ummmm maybe? She tells her about the offer and Rory is like why didn't you tell me? Lorelei is like  I get dibs on this time of year with you! And I don't like thinking about you not being here with me! Rory is like I get it. Let me think about it. Emily shows up to their room, all flustered about Richard's big news. She ends up leaving to go for a walk and finds Richard in the lobby. They talk and make up.  The next morning, everyone is going to leave. Dean catches Rory & Jess making eyes at each other.  Rory and Lorelei take a sleigh ride home and see that someone destroyed the fancy snowman. Lorelai is like we gotta send this ice cream maker back to whoever sent it which makes Rory & Sookie sad. The next day at school, Rory gets stuck with Paris & co on a class project. After class, they see that Tristan is back from suspension. Lorelai has been attending a business class and a younger student named Paul takes a liking to her and asks her out to dinner. At school, the group reluctantly lets Tristan be their Romeo. After failing to find who sent Lorelai the ice cream maker, she tries desperately to get rid of it. Sookie is like maybe you should keep the ice cream maker and work on moving on. Lorelai is like well there is this younger guy that asked me out. Sookie is all about it. Bad news for Rory, the group is coming to Stars Hollow to rehearse at Miss Patty's. Rory is very nervous because Dean doesn't know about her kiss with Tristan and what if they bump into each other and it's weird. Lorelai is like you should tell Dean. So they role play her telling him and it only freaks Rory out more so Lorelai is like you should definitely not tell him. Tristan shows up to Stars Hollow early just to harass Dean. Rory shows up just in time to stop Dean from punching him. He's not thrilled that he's going to be Romeo but there's nothing she can do. Lorelai and Rory meet up later at Luke's. Lorelai tells Rory that the date was casual and fun. And Rory tells her about the Dean Tristan fiasco. But then Dean shows up and says he's off tomorrow and wants to come watch rehearsal. So the next day, she goes to give Tristan a heads up and asks him not to tell Dean about the kiss. He's like ok but he's gonna know when he sees us kiss on stage and see how comfortable we are. Before rehearsal, Rory and Lorelai are together at Luke's when Paul comes in with his parents. He looks like a child and Rory gives her a hard time. It's rehearsal time, and Tristan does not keep his word. He looks at Dean and is like this reminds me of our first kiss at a party. Dean assumes he's just messing with them and Rory encourages him to leave. Luke doesn't let the casual date thing go and it's clearly bothering him. Lorelai confronts him on it and he's like it's fine, just live your life. It's performance night and Tristan is nowhere to be found. He finally shows up but says his dad is pulling him out of school and sending him to military school. He says he'd kiss her goodbye but her boyfriend is watching. Paris has to put on a wig and play the part. Afterwards, Lorelai is complaining about Luke to Sookie and she's like he's clearly in love with you. At the diner, she goes to tell Luke that she doesn't have many people in her life that she can count on. She hopes that Luke is one of those people. He says he is. He gets a phone call and starts freaking out. Apparently, it's his sister, and she wants her son—Luke's nephew, Jess—to come live with him for a bit. He's unruly and needs some help. Lorelai is like, “Well... you should get him a real bed... and sheets.... Are you sure you want to do this?” Luke insists it's no big deal. It's time for a new school year. Paris is still mad at Rory, but they're going to have to work together because of the school paper. Jess comes into town and he's a punk. He just drops his bags off, snags his book, and goes to find a nice bench somewhere as the town gets ready for fall. Rory shows up for the first meeting of the paper late because Paris gave her the wrong time on purpose. Paris assigns her first story: the paving of the new parking lot. Afterwards, she bumps into Max and awkwardly walks the other way. Lorelai invites Luke and Jess over for dinner as a little welcoming party for Jess. Jess is a bad boy. Luke comes upstairs to find snacks all over the bed and Jess smoking a cigarette inside. When Luke tells him they're going to dinner, Jess just walks out. Rory turns in her first assignment and the teacher in charge absolutely loves it. Rory sarcastically says, “I owe it all to Paris.” Paris gives her next assignment—a story everyone wants, a front-page story—an interview with Teacher of the Year... MAX MEDINA! It's dinner time! Jess meets Rory and is immediately like, “Do you wanna bail?” She's like, “No, it's gonna be fun!” He decides to just snag a beer out of the fridge and go drink it on the back porch. Lorelai finds him and gives him a talking-to: just give Luke and Stars Hollow a chance. He sasses her, so she goes inside to tell Luke what happened, but he takes Jess's side and storms out. The next morning, Lorelai makes Rory go into Luke's to snag the coffee so she can avoid Luke. But Luke then gets a call—it's Taylor, and Jess is up to no good! It's time for Rory to interview Max Medina, and they have a moment. Luke goes to talk to Jess and they get in a massive argument, ending with Luke pushing him into the water. Naturally, Luke runs to Lorelai to tell her she was right—he's way over his head. He goes to parent HARD, but Jess is like, “Thanks but no thanks. Gotta go.” He bumps into Rory, does some magic, gives her back the book he stole, proves that he reads a ton, and goes on his way. Rory is in love. She thinks Lorelai loves Max. Lorelai insists she does not and that she's sure she made the right decision. After fighting off the overly friendly B&B guests, they escape and decide on a destination…HARVARD! They have the BEST time imagining Rory's future there. Eventually, it's time to head back to Stars Hollow, and clearly everyone already knows about the breakup. People wave sadly, Miss Patty cries — it's a lot. It's time for Friday night dinner, and Lorelai tells Emily the wedding is off. Emily honestly takes it pretty well. Lorelai then goes to talk to Luke, and they have a moment. Naturally, Luke is PUMPED. Lane is back from Korea! Rory tells Lorelai she's going to hang out with Lane. To make sure she doesn't spend time alone with her thoughts, Lorelai immediately calls Sookie. It's time to talk about opening their own inn! Flowers everywhere. Life is good. Rory is talking to Lorelai about where she should get married…which Lorelai very much does not want to talk about, considering she hasn't even decided if she's going to say yes yet. Rory heads over to talk to Lane, who has bad news: her parents bought her a one-way ticket to Korea for the summer. Yikes. Lorelai goes to buy a newspaper and spots a bunch of wedding magazines. She ends up grabbing one, which feels like a BIG sign. Miss Patty immediately clocks it and asks if she's told Luke. Lorelai says no, but she's about to — and insists it's not a big deal because they're just friends. Naturally, the entire town follows her to Luke's to watch through the window. Luke handles it well at first…until he doesn't. He starts rapid-fire questioning her: Where will you live? Will you have kids? Will you keep working after you're married? Lorelai is not loving this interrogation. Friday night dinner time. When they arrive, Emily is unusually chipper — Rory finished in the top 3%! Everyone already knew, which kind of kills the moment, but they celebrate anyway. During dinner, Lorelai starts fidgeting with the ring and even moves it to her ring finger. This sends her spiraling enough to call Max and try to talk through all the questions Luke brought up. Max asks if these questions mean she's saying yes… She comes back to the table, smiles at Rory — and Rory instantly knows what that means. Emily and Richard are completely in the dark. Surely she'll tell them now, right? …Nope. The next day, Lorelai tells Sookie, who is THRILLED — like, emotional tears thrilled. Jackson sees Sookie's reaction and immediately panics about what this all means. Later that night, Dean shows up — surprise! He and Rory are back together, and they kiss. Since they're official again, Rory invites him to meet her grandparents at a celebratory dinner. It goes…poorly. Richard is not impressed. He grills Dean hard — college plans, grades, career goals — and gives him a whole speech about how special Rory is. Rory defends Dean, and the dinner ends abruptly. Back home, Lorelai explains to Rory that it wasn't really about Dean — it's about the pressure her parents put on Rory. She's everything they hoped Lorelai would be, and seeing Dean triggers all of that. Lorelai asks Rory to cut them a little slack. Meanwhile, back at Emily and Richard's, Richard is still fuming — until the phone rings. It's Sookie, calling about an engagement party for Lorelai and Max. And that's how Emily finds out her daughter is engaged. She storms into Richard's office and demands he apologize to Rory. He's confused — why? Emily explains: if they want Rory to trust them with big news someday, they need to fix this now. Meanwhile, Dean tells Lorelai that he left Rory because she couldn't say I love you. To cheer her up, they play 1, 2, 3 He's Yours. You know the rules, you love it. Lorelai passes on the first 2 guys, so she's stuck with the 3rd guy...who is Kirk. Big laugh. Funny funny. Rory agrees to play and Dean walks by first, so now she's just sad. Later in the day, Max calls Lorelai. He says we've been having phone convos for a couple weeks, let's do the next call in person on a date. She agrees. Rory is hanging out with Lane, actively avoiding Dean. But things are about to get real weird when Lane and Dean have to meet up to work on a school project together. Lorelai sees Luke walking out of the cat store. She gives him a hard time when she finds out that he's planning on giving Rachel a cat pot holder for Rachel's birthday. She says let me go shopping for you and get her something she'll actually like. She brings him all the stuff but also surprises him with a bunch of clothes for him to wear. He's not thrilled. At school, Max pulls Rory aside to talk about how he's gonna go on a date with her mom. That's how she found out. And she is not thrilled. NO ONE IS THRILLED! She's helping Luke with his new clothes when Rachel walks in. And it's awkward. When Rory gets back to Stars Hollow, she blows up at her mom. Lorelai says we'll talk more about it when we get home, but when she gets home, Rory is nowhere to be found. We find out that Rory went to EMILY AND RICHARD'S, literally the meanest thing she could possibly do to her mom. Lorelai gets home and is freaking out. Can't find Rory anywhere. She gets a call from her mom and finds out where Rory is. Emily encourages her not to come. Max is there and he finds out that all of this is because he talked to her about them before Lorelai did but then he's like wait why didn't you tell her and that turns into a whole thing. Lorelai thinks all of this has to do with how hard of a time she's having since the break up, so she goes to tell Dean off and that's when she finds out they broke up because she didn't say I love you back. Armed with that info, she goes to talk to Rory and tell her that she doesn't want her to be afraid of commitment just because she is. They head home and she calls Max and tells him that she's gonna tell everyone she knows that she's with Max Medina. Emily shows up in Stars Hollow and they go on their way. They're having a great time until Rory shows her the little shack that she grew up in and Emily storms out. Lorelai goes to check out the inn in the pictures with Rachel. It's perfect. So she starts hanging out with Rachel more. Luke tells Lorelai to not get attached. She always leaves. Lorelai is like I think she wants to stay this time. Luke is like you don't know what you're talking about. That night, Lorelai and Rory see Luke and Rachel at the movies, so I guess he listened to her. At Friday night dinner, Emily is excited to show Rory that she's remodeled a room to be all hers - full of boy band posters and Cosmo magazines. Lorelai is confused and after Rory walks out, Emily and her get into an argument about how Lorelai wanted to be anywhere but with them after Rory was born including a worn down shack. She tells him she'll see what she can do. She tells her mom and she's like that's fine, but you better also be there. Lorelai is feeling a bit grumpy. She hasn't heard from Max in a while and everyone around her seems to be all in love because of the Firelight Festival. So she goes to get some coffee at Luke's, that'll be what she needs. Except suddenly, Rachel shows up. Luke's ex-girlfriend Rachel. They make awkward small talk, and it's clear Luke is very nervous. Unfortunately for Lorelai, it's time for her to head to Friday night dinner. And wouldn't you know it, Emily sees this as a moment to try to set her up with a fancy boy named Chase. Meanwhile, Rory and Dean are out at a fancy dinner. They're having the absolute best time. Dean has gone HARD on their 3 month anniversary. Lorelai is so unbelievably bored by Chase that she tries to sneak out. Luckily for her, Richard also finds him absolutely boring and helps her sneak out. Dean surprises Rory with a big gift - he's building her a car. She is blown away. She tells him this is as good as it gets. Life will never be this good again. He takes this opportunity to tell her that he loves her. She does not respond. Which leads him to absolutely freaking out. Lorelai ends back up in Stars Hollow and sits next to Luke. They talk about Rachel and then she heads home to call Max but before she can leave a message, Rory shows up and tells her that she and Dean broke up. Sookie asked Jackson out to dinner but now it's been weeks, and still no dinner. Lorelai encourages her to talk to him about it! Rory is kissing Dean and she decides now is the time to talk to him about a potential double date with Todd. He is like well whatever gets me back to kissing you, sure let's double date. Sookie tells Lorelai the good news - the date with Jackson is on. The bad news is he wants it to be a double date with Lorelai and Jackson's cousin. She's not thrilled but anything for Sookie. It's date night! Rory and Lane decide not to tell their moms about this double date thing and off they go. When Jackson and his cousin Rune show up, Rune pulls Jackson aside and is horrified to see that Lorelai is tall. Naturally, she hears all of this making her even less excited for the double date. But he's terrible to Lorelai – he asks her shoe size, won't look at her, won't make conversation. At the other double date, Lane is trying to have a good time with Todd but Todd has just nothing going on in that noggin. Lorelai and the gang end up at Luke's. Lorelai tells Luke that her "date" thinks she's too tall. Luke can't believe there's anyone in the world that doesn't think that Lorelai walks on water. Rune ends up leaving which finally gives Luke and Lorelai time to hang out and have some fun, just the two of them. But it doesn't last long when Lane's mother sees Lorelai in the diner and storms in because she was under the impression that Rory and Lane were with Lorelai tonight. They find Rory & Lane. Busted. Lane is grounded, big time. Lorelai attempts to talk to Mrs. Kim but it doesn't go well. But Lorelai's little talk actually seems to have some effect and Lane is allowed to go out in the front yard and use the phone. Big progress. Lorelai is running the town rummage sale & Luke drops off some stuff, including a bag of clothes because HE LOVES HERRRRRRR. Sookie runs in holding 4 amazing tickets to The Bangles. Everyone is PUMPED! At Luke's, Rory teases Luke about having a rummage sale sign in the diner window because HE LOVES HERRRR. But when Lorelai comes in, Luke freaks out on her because she's wearing a jacket that was in the bag he donated. He demands she take it off. Sookie explains to her that the ugly jacket used to belong to Luke's ex-girlfriend, Rachel. She broke his heart because she wanted to move to the big city and Luke refused to leave Stars Hollow. Paris and the other two speaking girls at Chilton show up to work on a project. When Lorelai hears that Rory is seemingly having an ok time with these girls, she decides to invite them to go to the Bangles concert with Rory, because friendship. So they all go, they're having a great time, but the two girls not named Rory or Paris leave with boys. When Lorelai finds out, she's not thrilled. They track 'em down and make them leave. Paris loves it and loves Lorelai. Paris has issues. The episode ends in Stars Hollow at the rummage sale and Lorelai gives Luke the jacket back and they make up. Just kiss already. Lorelai is confused and upset, but it suddenly clicks—it's because of a boy. Lorelai tells Rory she will not allow her to throw her life away for some random guy. Rory is going to Chilton whether she likes it or not. It's not a great night… nothing a little Macy Gray can't help.It's finally time for the first Friday night dinner, and it's a disaster. Lorelai's father, Richard, brings up Rory's dad, Christopher, and all the success he's having with his internet startup in California. Lorelai spirals. She and her mom, Emily, end up fighting in the kitchen, and Rory overhears everything—including the fact that her grandparents are paying for Chilton.By the end of the night, Rory recognizes her mom's bravery and agrees to go to Chilton. Over the holiday break John got to live the dream of many millennial women and visit the set of "Gilmore Girls" during their holiday event! They built the entire town of Stars Hollow and they even ran into one of the show's stars.

Montreal's own Yanic Truesdale has become a beloved actor all around the world, particularly for his role as Stars Hollow's passive aggressive hotel concierge, Michel, on the hit show “Gilmore Girls.” Earlier this year, Yanic joined Tom Power to talk about his early days as an actor, his life-changing audition for the show that put him on the map, and why he didn't want to have a French accent for his new role in “Étoile” — the latest series from “Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Tread Perilously's backdoor pilot month continues with a visit to Stars Hollow and Venice, CA in the Gilmore Girls episode known as "Here Comes The Son." While Rory tries to tackle her final weeks in high school, Lorelei faces the reality that she may not be able to pay for Yale. Will she give in and ask her parents after finally paying them back for Rory's high school tuition? Meanwhile, Jess makes his way to Venice, CA to meet with his father. But once there, he's introduced to his dad's new girlfriend and a number of other local color characters. Is the beginning of a Gilmore Guys show? Erik and Justin are surprised to see a backdoor pilot for a Gilmore Girls spinoff is still about Rory and Lorelei. Erik has a theory as to why. The Sugarbaker Woman Scale makes another appearance. Justin thinks he understands why people enjoy Gilmore Girls. He also names the two good Orange County bands from the 1990s. Erik works out why the repetition humor doesn't work for him. The pair also determine they do not actually hate Milo  Ventimiglia, but they loathe his character on Heroes. Geography Corner centers on Venice and other Southern California beach locales. Notes are offered to make the proposed spinoff better and Evil Alien Conquerors makes its way into the discussion again.
