Comedy couple, Bryan Morris and Stacey Kulow, are New York-based comedy writer/performers, originally from Wisconsin. Bryan grew up obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Stacey is a huge fan of Gilmore Girls, but neither of them have ever seen the other show. Together they will watch their way through both series and discuss one episode from each show per podcast, and maybe ultimately decide which show is better. Join us!

The Buffy the Gilmore Slayer podcast is an absolute gem for fans of both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gilmore Girls. The hosts, Bryan and Stacey, bring a hilarious and refreshing perspective to these beloved shows, making each episode a joy to listen to. What sets this podcast apart is their unique format, where they compare and contrast episodes from both shows in each episode. This critical comparison adds a new layer of analysis that I haven't heard in other podcasts, making it a standout in the genre.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the chemistry between Bryan and Stacey. Their banter and comedic timing are impeccable, keeping me entertained throughout every episode. They have a natural rapport that shines through their conversations, making it feel like you're listening to two friends discussing their favorite shows. Additionally, their insights into the characters and storylines are sharp and insightful, offering a fresh take on these well-known series.
Another highlight of The Buffy the Gilmore Slayer podcast is the "Meanwhile On Charmed" segment. As a fan of Charmed as well, it's hilarious to hear their guesses about what could be happening in each Charmed episode based solely on IMDb descriptions. Even though they often get it wrong, it never fails to elicit laughs and adds another layer of fun to the podcast.
While there are many positive aspects to this podcast, there are few drawbacks worth mentioning. Sometimes, I find myself wanting more in-depth analysis or discussion on certain episodes or themes. Since they cover two shows within one episode, time constraints can limit how much they dive into specific aspects. However, considering that this is meant to be a lighthearted and entertaining podcast rather than an academic analysis, this drawback is easily forgivable.
In conclusion, The Buffy the Gilmore Slayer podcast is an absolute delight for fans of both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gilmore Girls. Bryan and Stacey's humor, insights, and chemistry make each episode a joy to listen to. Whether you're a long-time fan of these shows or discovering them for the first time, this podcast offers a fresh perspective and an abundance of laughs. I highly recommend giving it a listen, and I can't wait to see what other shows they tackle in the future!
Subscriber-only episodeThat's a wrap on Season 3! For the most part we enjoyed watching it, but reflecting back… did we? We ponder whether Veronica's character, as written, is actually capable of maintaining a successful romantic relationship. We have some thoughts on why Veronica's friend squad ain't quite the Scoobies. And we hope we get some closure on Logan's butt mongering business in the remaining chapters.Apologies! As you can see we were wearing our mics, but somehow we only got our camera audio. We've done some troubleshooting and should have it working next episode. We will be having a Watch Party on our Patreon this Sunday, May 4th, at 8pm EST to watch the Veronica Mars movie! Subscriber-only episodeSo… this is the ending people were stuck with for 7 years? Veronica tries to expose a secret "forority" after having yet another traumatic experience. We don't get any redemption for dick, but we do get a lot of men with their pants off and a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches. And we think Daddy Mars only changes clothes a few times a week.Subscribe to our Patreon to access the video version, our Discord community, plus all of our other bonus content. Send us a text
Subscriber-only episodeThis week Veronica helps Weevil out of a situation she put him in many episodes ago. Wallace has a mysterious encounter, builds a little plane, and wears a big shirt. Dick seemed to be on the upside of his redemption arc, but then dipped back down a lil. And we spend a good amount of time trying to explain what a Weeble is. Who more accurately described Veronica's outfit? Guys, we're back, and we brought some friends! Instead of comparing two shows, we joined forces with the hosts of another Buffy podcast, Boys Watching Buffy, to review a movie starring a Gilmore Girl: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. We chat all about the sometimes cringe, yet surprisingly emotional summer adventures of Carmen, Lena, Bridget, Tibby(!?), and their shared, dirty, pair of regular-looking, yet magical pants. Whether you've seen this movie or not, whether you liked it or didn't, we're pretty sure we can all agree that one dad really sucks. Enjoy!P.S. Our microphones missed us and are a little HOT in portions of the podcast. Sorry!Be sure to check out Boys Watching Buffy! Also get hyped for Étoile with us by watching this not super marketed trailer, and make sure you're subscribed to our YouTube channel for upcoming content! The show Stacey produces, Sketch Cram, is this Saturday night! Subscriber-only episodeEveryone's summer plans are up in the air, and as always, there is a LOT going on. Veronica officially becomes a PI, while Piz (this show's Dean/Riley) finds out he officially isn't part of Veronica's summer plans. Logan also has a storyline while he waits for Veronica to finish her Piz thing. And the homeowners association has beef with Daddy Mars! Guys we were GOOFY this week. Probably had something to do with all the crazy stuff going on in our building... or maybe it was the chips. Subscriber-only episodePiz's radio station is getting "debunked" so they have to bring in a very special guest star. Meanwhile Daddy Mars hires another familiar face as Chef Sherrif Boy. We really wanna know where Logan is getting all these butts. Bryan is maybe in love with Paul Rudd? We also have a very special guest star…Kurt! Also ButtHub doesn't seem to be real, butt Booty Hub is. Subscriber-only episodeWell, the season mysteries are all wrapped up, so this week Veronica takes on the geopolitical climate of the mid 2000s. Meanwhile Daddy Mars goes hard on avenging one boy. Wallace and Piz are sharing a woman, while Dick tries to get two women to share him. Just curious, what food oil would YOU go with for sex? Subscriber-only episodeActing Sheriff Daddy Mars makes a compelling case against Mindy/Mandy and/or Doctor Hank. Subscriber-only episodeWhoa! Major events happening towards the end of this episode, but seem a little sudden in our opinion? Logan does a Valentines Day scavenger hunt with some randos. Subscriber-only episodeTW: SA/SuicideWe have ANOTHER new multi-episode mystery to solve at the behest of ANOTHER Heart College faculty widow? It could be Tall-Ass Jail Josh who did the murder, or perhaps Felix Downs? Weevil's stance on whether or not he's willing to do crime is a bit all over the place these days. And we almost had to pause in the middle of this episode to make peanut butter cookies.Subscribe to our Patreon to access the video version, our Discord community, plus all of our other bonus content.Send us a text
Subscriber-only episodeTW: SA/Miscarriage/AbortionVeronica very easily convinces Weevil to return to a life of crime and then finds… God? Meanwhile, Daddy Mars sneakily investigates a woman's Volvo. Wouldya look at that? The dumpster woman is back again! And Stacey is very confused about Madison and Aspen, though not in the way you may think. Subscriber-only episodeTW: SA/SuicideVeronica helps a Battlestar Galactica-obsessed boy find the love of his life. Meanwhile Daddy Mars impersonates a police officer!? Daddy's so naughty this season! We're giving up on shipping the ship. Do you ship the ship? And Bryan shows off how "knowledgeable" he is about makeup. Subscriber-only episodeTW: SA/SuicideSo sorry! We're clearly wearing our mics (in the video, trust us), but we realized afterwards that they were not hooked up to the camera properly, so this episode is unfortunately just regular-ass iPhone audio. Veronica helps solve a monkey mystery for Gil Thomas Douglas Gregory Lawrence, while Daddy Mars investigates the death of Principal Cowboy Man Dean. Mac is back and has a new love interest. She should probably keep tabs on his relationship with his sister though. While at a party, Veronica has a whole existential crisis about what her life is. Who turns their phone off!? Oh, also! Upon further investigation the other guy surfing with Dick and Logan was Chip, the frat guy!? He obviously hasn't had much of an impact on us or looks very different in a wet suit. Subscriber-only episodeTW: SASo we ended up cutting something from the last episode, cuz ONE OF US (Bryan) didn't think it would be important or come back, but it sure did! Now we're wondering if this nasty turd mystery is gonna come back. Bryan has an interesting theory about the Rider Strong prisoner experiment. Subscriber-only episodeTW: SAThis week Veronica and Daddy Mars solve the case of the missing rich lady, and a new Daddy enters the ring, Daddy Nanny! Veronica briefly gets kidnapped by a mountain man, but it's not what you think. Wallace briefly shows up to not help with some math. Also we're getting a whole lot of the Dean and not a whole lot of the actors listed in the opening credits. Here's the TikTok we were referencing in our test. Have you seen?Subscribe to our Patreon to access the video version, our Discord community, plus all of our other bonus content.Send us a text
Subscriber-only episodeTW: SAThe mystery of the week features a couple, Sully and Meryl…. This show is clearly out of names. Bryan struggles with names a bit in this one. (You won't believe who he calls Melissa.) Daddy Mars faces the TERRIFYING task of breaking up with someone. And in general, the goings-on in these dorms are pretty silly, aren't they, guys?Subscribe to our Patreon to access the video version, our Discord community, plus all of our other bonus content.Send us a text
Subscriber-only episodeTW: SADang! EVERYONE is involved in some sort of cheating scandal! Veronica's hair looks fantastic. It's too much! Seriously, this Dean character has SO much going on in his life. And we got mics! (which we need to learn to be cognizant of when rubbing each others' chests and having tummy grumbles) We'll try to be a little more careful with bumping them, and there does seem to be a slight hum, which we think we can fix in future episodes. Hopefully this improves your auditory experience a bit. Subscriber-only episodeTW: SAVeronica investigates the case of her stolen necklace as well as the overall season mystery, or IS it!? Daddy Mars helps Veronica's Dean kidnap a man to steal his bone marrow? WTF is happening!? Wallace is kinda doin' his own thing this season. (cheating at passion we're just finding out about) And Bryan wants to talk about Shepherd Book for some reason?Correction: Bryan was confused. The “tutor” does not returnthe money. The TA shows up at the door with an envelope. Subscriber-only episodeTW: SAMuch to Veronica's dismay, Logan comes over for a meal with her and her father. And hold up, there are TWO LOGANS!!?!? In this episode!!?!?! Bet you can't guess who!Subscribe to our Patreon to access the video version, our Discord community, plus all of our other bonus content.Send us a text
Subscriber-only episodeTW: SAWe still haven't gotten to this season's big mystery, (at least we hope not) but "bus crash mystery" is certainly a tongue twister. Weevil joins the detective business, which WOULD be going great, except he can't stop hitting people. Veronica makes a wild assumption about a single piece of stray popcorn. Plus Bryan's wearing another silly hat!Subscribe to our Patreon to access the video version, our Discord community, plus all of our other bonus content.Send us a text
Subscriber-only episodeTW: SAVeronica goes deep undercover at a sorority house, while a beloved figure from Stacey's childhood acts like a complete monster out of nowhere. Veronica's main character energy really shows, when she asks very few questions of her late-to-return-home-from the desert father. We map out Veronica's unnecessarily long walk through an office. Plus we sing you TWO test songs! The experiment we were referencing is called the Stanford Prison Experiment from the 70s. There is a recent 3-part docuseries about this on Hulu. However, what they were actually referencing in the show was what U.S. soldiers did at the Abu Ghraib prison during the Iraq War.Subscribe to our Patreon to access the video version, our Discord community, plus all of our other bonus content.Send us a text
Subscriber-only episodeTW: SA/suicideWe're back with Season 3! We're in college. We're older. We're wiser. However, Bryan is confused about what country New York is in. We meet some new characters, including Piz, and we hate that that's his name. Dick... isn't behaving better, but we're hopeful he's about to turn things around? And Stacey got her wish for a Giles-esque figure! (who comes with a douchey little sidekick)Send us a text
Subscriber-only episodeTW: SA/suicideOur wrap-up episode is a little late, as promised, but it's still here a few days ahead of our Season 3 premiere! That's a wrap on Season 2, and there's a LOT to unpack still. Bryan is aware that one of the characters was a teen mom and not just an out-of-state mom posing as a teenager. We're a couple daddies down now, but Stacey's hoping for a Daddy Giles-type figure for Season 3. And can you guess which Buffy storyline Stacey is reminded of by the Fitzpatricks? Send us a text
Subscriber-only episodeTW: SA, suicide & probably a lot of other things (oof! This season's dark!)Wow, we really didn't see this one coming, but Veronica "Goddess of Mysteries" sure figured it out! Not only did she solve the big mystery, but she guessed Jackie's whole deal from a couple basic observations. Sherif Lamb was more interested in ruining graduation that looking for Daddy Goot, but all parties still got their comeuppance. And honestly so much more… Let us know what topics you'd us discuss in our Season 2 Wrap-Up episode! And please send us the details we need to arrange the goat boat.Send us a text

Subscriber-only episodeTW: SA & gun violenceAll the season's big storylines are coming to a head, all against of a backdrop of Weevil bullying people into teaching him algebra. Subscriber-only episodeWe're back and [somewhat] rested! Thank you for your patience! This week Veronica gathers clues via a serious of confrontational interviews and bus nightmares. The students of Neptune High learn how to drop eggs real good and also seem to be allowed to carry around bleach-filled squirt guns. Subscriber-only episodeTW: SA - We do use a major trigger word a few times, being that it is in the title and very much the subject of this episode. Veronica and Wallace visit the local college that Veronica doesn't want to attend but obviously will. This college has not one but TWO stars from Arrested Development in its student body. Daddy Mars, or should we say Doctor Janitor Mars... helps the local public defender get out of a lil pickle. Subscriber-only episodeA LAAAARGE percentage of this episode is dedicated to recapping everything that's happened... seriously like 5 whole minutes. Subscriber-only episodeThis week Veronica helps a marginalized group of students, but the wrongdoer kinda just openly admits it all with no real consequences? Subscriber-only episodeThis week we take a slight brake from murder, kidnapping and gang wars to focus on the heavy subject of... carnival crimes. We did it! We watched and compared Joss and Amy's other two shows. They didn't have quite as much in common as Buffy and Gilmore, but they are both about ragtag groups of people who become each other's found family, led by reluctant heroes. Also both shows feature young, thin, petite girls who can do impressive stuff with their bodies. Oh, and Mitchum! We discuss what worked about the shows, what didn't, and where they maybe would have gone with more seasons. Plus we do an accidental ad for Gain detergent! We will be taking a little break, but please stay tuned for what's next! Here is that Honest Trailer for Firefly that we mentioned. Here is the Bunheads Farewell Dance. Here is the link for the Gilmore Girls Fan Fest weekend. Subscriber-only episodeWow! This week the thing of the week this week is WHOLE thing. We've done the math, and turns out, it doesn't make sense that Weevil's a gang leader. Veronica takes a break from solving crime at school to solving crime at jury duty. Sheriff Lamb might not be a Daddy (or professor), but we didn't hate that his shirt was off. Bunheads Episode 17 "It's Not a Mint"/Bunheads Episode 18 "Next!"Welp, that's a wrap on bunheads... did not expect it to end in the middle of a sex ed lesson, but at least we got a cool final dance. Then we watch as Michelle tries to balance her goals of achieving stardom with her growing pile of sex questions from her students. Our discussion on the conclusion to the Firefly series: "Serenity"This week we catch up with the crew of Serenity in their feature film! Fortunately, this little show was blessed with the chance to tie up some loose ends. It ties up some of the, arguably, most interesting ends, however, we do wish they had a bit more time to focus on certain characters. We get cameos from a couple famous actors, and a visitor from Joss's sex bot closet. Shepherd Book still doesn't give us any of his backstory, but does teach us a thing or two about leaves, and Inara has learned some fancy incense tricks. Subscriber-only episodeWell, well, well... guess Season 1 wasn't as wrapped up, as everyone thought it was. Veronica really narrows things down once she learns prime suspect is a brown-haired, medium-sized guy in a t-shirt. The antiquated technology of the week includes aol.com, early aughts Photoshop, and phone cards! And this show might as well be called Abandoned Little Rich Boys. Featuring very special guest star, Joss Whedon! Plus this is the 8th appearance of Cliff McCormack, Public Defender, so we were both kinda right.Subscribe to our Patreon to access the video version, our Discord community, plus all of our other bonus content.Send us a Text Message.
Bunheads Episode 15 "Take the Vicuna"/Bunheads Episode 16 "There's Nothing Worse Than a Pantsuit"Witness the drama unfold as boyfriends *gasp* try to sit with their girlfriends at lunch, and Michelle and her brother... don't go to Burning Man? You thought Michelle's brother was bad? Wait till you meet their mom! Sasha's new apartment has everyone in a tizzy. Fanny makes a deal with Milly, after Milly pulls some real Paris sh*t. We were super excited to see Sal again, but for us, he's lost a bit of that somehow not creepy, butt-identifier charm. Michelle's having a whole new crisis. And we've got some hot takes about a 40-year old movie.Want more content? Sing up for our Patreon! Subscriber-only episodeMama Wallace got some splainin' to do! ...but also has a cute way of introducing herself. Duncan and logan make up by sharing a nice fruit platter and watching some local access television. We like to think we were pretty tech savvy in 2005... Does the stuff they're doing with voicemails make sense? We tell you about a prostate health infomercial we saw one time. And do you think our neighbor was moving bodies?Subscribe to our Patreon to access the video version, our Discord community, plus all of our other bonus content.Send us a Text Message.
Subscriber-only episodeVeronica aggressively tries to seduce the most faithful man on earth. Daddy Mars helps his special lady friend (NOT his old lady), even though she's clearly not telling him everything. Logan makes a brief appearance at the end to tell Veronica about the crumpled up mystery in his pocket. An there's something REAL bad on Meg's computer.Subscribe to our Patreon to access the video version, our Discord community, plus all of our other bonus content.Send us a Text Message.
Firefly Episode 14 "Objects in Space"/Bunheads Episode 14 "The Astronaut and the Ballerina"This week's Firefly introduces a man by the name of Early: a complex, interesting, possibly mad character that we'd love to see more of. Unfortunately this was the last episode... Meanwhile, Bunhead Ginny is driven to madness by some parental drama. AND... coincidentally, (or maybe not? AMY!?) Early and Ginny both process a reveal concerning violence towards dogs!? While Early lurks on the Serenity, Melanie lurks on some roller derby practices. Michelle cosplays as early Season 1 Lorelai, while Kaylee cosplays as ole feet-on-the-lap Rory. Oh! And those other roller derby names were Scary Skate and Crashley.Want more content? Subscriber-only episodeThe Beav really goes out of his way to get his dad to love him, and spoilers, it backfires hard. The specifics of the iPod shuffle is really integral to this week's mystery solving. We're not quite sure how Veronica's name being written on that guy's hand even makes sense. We're also not sure what SEC stands for, but we definitely made some guesses. And we forgot to dive into the specifics of the karaoke scene, but after doing some reading, we now realize the person who sings a full song for no reason is actually the singer of the theme song.Subscribe to our Patreon to access the video version, our Discord community, plus all of our other bonus content.Send us a Text Message.
Subscriber-only episodeThe guest stars keep on flowing, so Kevin Smith helps Veronica solve a case. We meet Daddy Casablancas, who brings with him an ominous cloud of foreshadowing. We really hope you guys are on board for this Daddy bit we've entirely committed to. And we hope you enjoy our spooky rendition of the Rescue Rangers theme song.Subscribe to our Patreon to access the video version, our Discord community, plus all of our other bonus content.Send us a Text Message.
Bunheads Episode 13 "I'll Be Your Meyer Lansky"/Firefly Episode 13 "Heart of Gold"Fanny and Michelle take steps to better utilize their land, while Inara enlists the Serenity crew to help an old friend defend her brothel. Both episodes feature characters being forced to the ground, as well as villainous characters who are passionate about theater and getting what they want. We find out that neither Michelle nor Inara's friend finished school. It's hard to say which location features more boobs: the brothel or Charlie's bedroom. Both episodes end with a woman deciding to leave someone she loves. And Bryan's gone from not knowing Ginny's name to just calling everyone Melanie.Want more content? Sing up for our Patreon!
