In this week's episode, D.J. talks with David Lorenz, child abuse advocate, member of SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priest) and male sexual abuse survivor who speaks out regularly about child sexual abuse and statute of limitations which prevent some survivors from coming forward with their truths. David was featured on Netflix's The Keepers as he, and other advocates, voiced concerns about the statue of limitations in the state of Maryland. David says we either need to abolish the statues of limitation or raise them.  Learn more about SNAP and StopItNow, two valuable resources David shared about.  Hosted by D.J. Burr - a Seattle psychotherapist and author of I Just Wanted Love: Recovery of a Codependent, Sex and Love Addict.  Each episode of Journey On features real life accounts of sexual abuse and assault. You may be triggered by what you hear. I advise self-care tools; reaching out to a friend, seeing your therapist, picking a new time to listen to the show, or even listening with a group of friends. Take care of yourself first.  Music   Sunday by cdk (c) copyright 2016 Licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution (3.0) license. http://dig.ccmixter.org/files/cdk/53755

Mia sits down to rant about a particularly jawdropping moment of Netflix's The Keepers involving (SPOILER) a vagina wrapped in newspaper. She also wistfully remembers the Mooch's time at the white house and checks out a fish called Kok that you can buy on amazon for just under one thousand dollars. There is also a reenactment of a 911 call where the caller has a snake snatched on her schnoz. @miapinchoff 2dumb2tame.com

We start with a pat on the back for Kevin, as our spin-off podcast "...These Are Their Stories" has been nominated for Best TV/Film Podcast by the Academy of Podcasting. No one know how or why the show was picked, but they needed 10 to fill out the category, so... Thanks to the many listeners who helped fill in some of the narrative holes left by "Mommy Dead and Dearest." Among the questions answered from last week include facts about feeding tubes, Dede's medical knowledge, and reasons why she was able to fool physicians into thinking Gypsy was chronically ill. Rebecca comments on the media coverage of the DUI arrest of Tiger Woods. Is it the typical case of a hero plummeting to Earth, or is race playing a role in the negative coverage? Then...the show you've been waiting for...Netflix's "The Keepers." The documentary seemed to have everything: murder, sex trafficking, cover-ups. Despite the great source material, did the film makers really make the most of the story that was there? In Crime of the Week, two teachers come to blows fighting over a man. The students can't even...
