Proponents of the Government of National Unity are hoping to see it complete its full term, but cracks are again beginning to show in the ten-party pact. The Patriotic Alliance is threatening to pull out of the GNU, and is even prepared to lose its ministerial position, if its Deputy president Kenny Kunene is not reinstated in his position in the City of Johannesburg as MMC for Transport. The party has cleared Kunene of wrongdoing after he was found at the Sandton house of murder-accused Katiso KT Molefe, at the time of his arrest. PA leader Gayton McKenzie has even vowed to work with the DA if the party's marriage with the ANC doesn't work out. Ntlantla Kgatlhane has more

On this episode we take a look at an absolute classic that is a bit of a departure as it is a bit more dramatic than others we are used to. Miss Hoover has Lyme Disease which brings a new teacher to Springfield Elementary and one that Lisa becomes quite enamored with. While this is going on Bart takes a run at Class President. We had a blast breaking this one down and we hope that you have just as much fun listening to it!* Please note that there was a slight audio glitch shortly after the Eye on Springfield segment mic that lasts for about 9 minutes before it gets addressed. Send us a textWe interviewed Penn Cole, we took a deep dive into Spark and Glow of the Everflame, and today we're continuing on with our deep dive into book 3: Heat of the Everflame. With the first fifteen minutes being spoiler free, and including our basic star and spice ratings! Check out our full Kindred's Curse Saga Playlist | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=103nCXINMP4&list=PLHf5v0KOoZMmK0bBoRxZWmqNtG88fxs4v&pp=gAQBAt this point, we're taking the time needed to deep dive some conspiracy theories and speculate as to how this series may end. Honestly, we can't even imagine how Penn Cole is going to tie up all these loose ends, especially with Heat ending in the epic way it did… on a cliffhanger like no other. Diem continues to break away from more common fantasy conventions and tropes by embodying feminist themes focused on ruling with non-violence, even when presented with immense power. We discuss why this is important, and why having an MMC like Luther who continues to support her, but must now make some impossible choices may challenge some of the more alternative themes we've grown to appreciate from this series. We break down our favorite and least favorite parts, tropes, and characters, share reviews, and discuss whether or not we're looking forward to reading the final book. And dive into the web of secrets that we feel like we (and Diem) are just now beginning to unravel. As usual, we have some extra treats, starting out with a Labubu and bruised pinky themed fave and fail and a smash or pass fantasy daddy / bad boy fish edition.Don't be shy, subscribe! In this episode of Book Talk for BookTok, we sit down with bestselling romantasy author Devney Perry to explore the twists, turns, and emotional layers of her latest novel, Shield of Sparrows. We unpack: The origin of the story's central secrets and the moment that had Devney laughing maniacally as she wrote The unique development process behind this high-stakes fantasy, from royal family dynamics to layered worldbuilding Writing morally complex characters, including a male main character (MMC) whose presence shapes the heroine's journey without ever giving us his POV Why there are no "evil" parents in this romantasy and what it means to survive the choices of those who raised us The maternal bonds that show up in unexpected places, and what Odessa's empathy says about her strength and vulnerability Female friendship, betrayal, and the question of whether empathy is a fatal flaw or a quiet superpower Devney also gives us insight into where Odessa, Zavier, and Ransom might be headed next, and how their complicated titles evolve into earned identities. Whether you're a long-time fan of Devney Perry or a romantasy reader looking for stories with emotional depth, powerful heroines, and found-family themes, this conversation dives into everything that makes Shield of Sparrows soar. It's our podcast's 3rd birthday, so we are celebrating by discussing The Birthday List by Devney Perry. We chat about the fun "bucket list" type items and the swoon-worthy MMC in this story with an interesting twist on grief and starting over.
In this encore episode, we go through the pathophysiology of hydrogen sulfide (H₂S)-dominant small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), focusing on its role in intestinal motility disruption, microbial dysbiosis, and epithelial barrier dysfunction. We detail the interplay between the enteric nervous system (ENS), interstitial cells of Cajal (ICCs), and migrating motor complex (MMC) in regulating small intestinal transit and how excess H₂S modulates smooth muscle activity, inflammatory signaling, and gastrointestinal transit time. Lastly, we detail symptoms and related SIBO subtypes.Topics:1. Introduction to Hydrogen Sulfide Dominant SIBO - Overview of hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) SIBO - Sulfate as an electron acceptor - H₂S production, sulfur-containing amino acids - Physiological roles of H₂S vs. in excess 2. Hydrogen Sulfide and Gastrointestinal Motility - Impact on transit time - Association with IBS-like symptoms, diarrhea 3. Intestinal Motility and Regulation - Role of the ENS, ICCs, smooth muscle cells, and neurotransmitters in motility 4. The Enteric Nervous System (ENS) and Gut Motility - ENS as the "second brain" and its control over digestion - Myenteric and submucosal plexuses: regulation of peristalsis, secretion, blood flow - Gut-brain axis involvement via vagus nerve signaling - ICCs as pacemaker cells generating slow-wave electrical activity - MMC's role in clearing debris and bacteria 5. Dysregulated Motility and SIBO Development 6. Overlapping Symptoms Across SIBO Subtypes - Shared symptoms - Hydrogen and H₂S-dominant SIBO vs. IMO 7. Gastric Acid and Its Role - HCl secretion by parietal cells and its role in digestion and microbial defense - Hypochlorhydria and bacterial overgrowth 8. Conclusion - Root cause approach.Get Chloe's Book Today! "75 Gut-Healing Strategies & Biohacks" Follow Chloe on Instagram @synthesisofwellnessVisit synthesisofwellness.com
