James confronts the difference between a faith that is merely professed and a faith that is truly alive. Paul and James are not presenting competing gospels. Salvation is by grace through faith, but genuine faith does not remain empty. A living faith begins to produce visible evidence through obedience, mercy, sacrifice, and surrender. Dead faith can hear the Word without changing, sympathize without sacrificing, know theology without truly knowing God, and recognize His authority without submitting to it. James warns that even correct belief by itself is not enough. The question is whether that belief has begun to reshape the way we actually live. Living faith moves in the opposite direction. It submits to Jesus and produces progressive change. It serves others with mercy, places what we love on the altar, and ultimately surrenders every area of life to Christ. The goal is not perfection, but direction: a life increasingly brought under the authority of Jesus. The question James leaves us with is simple: Is your faith dead or alive?

Most people think estate planning is simply deciding who gets their assets after they die. In reality, a complete estate plan answers two very different questions: who can help if you're still alive but unable to manage your affairs, and who takes over after you're gone. In this episode, Nick breaks down the key documents that apply during life versus after death and provides a practical roadmap to understanding the complete estate planning picture. Here's some of what we discuss in this episode:

Are you spiritually dead or alive in Christ? That is the deep and personal question Pastor Roderick Webster opens up in this devotion from Ephesians chapter two, using the King James Version of the Bible. In this episode of Words From The Word, Pastor Roderick Webster walks us through the powerful contrast Paul draws in Ephesians two between the walk of the unregenerate person, dead in trespasses and sins, and the walk of the believer who has been made alive through God's grace and love. You might be asking:- What does it mean to be spiritually dead?- Can a person look alive on the outside but be dead on the inside?- What changed when God said "but God" in Ephesians two verse four?- How does the story of Jairus' daughter connect to our spiritual condition?Key points from this devotion:- Every person without Christ is spiritually dead, not just struggling- The word "quickened" means made alive, spiritually, not physically- God's rich mercy and great love broke through our spiritual deadness- Jesus has power over physical death, and over spiritual death too- Our walk changed from sin to love the moment Christ saved usIf this devotion encouraged you, please like, leave a comment, share it with a friend, and subscribe so you never miss an episode of Words From The Word.WordsFromTheWord #KJV #BibleDevotion #ChristianLiving #GoodNewsBaptistChurchStay connected with GNBC:

We often think of a "successful exit" as handing over the keys to a perfectly oiled machine—a business that is growing, profitable, and operationally sound. But what happens when the machine starts to sputter? What if the margins are too thin, the operations are exhausting, and you are simply burned out? It is easy to assume that a broken business model means a worthless company. But as this week's guest on Built to Sell Radio proves, sometimes the individual parts are worth more than the whole. Meet Jason Patel. Jason built Transitions Education, a college counseling marketplace. On the surface, it looked great: upper six-figure revenue and a noble mission. But under the hood, customer acquisition costs were eating his margins, and he was carrying $250,000 in personal debt to keep it afloat. He was ready to walk away. He assumed he had zero leverage. Then, a "Micro Private Equity" firm reached out. They didn't want his headaches. They didn't want his operations. They didn't even want his business model. They wanted his "parts." Specifically, they wanted his SEO ranking, his blog traffic, and his 5-star reputation. They realized they could strip away the expensive service delivery and plug his high-performing marketing assets into their own portfolio. In this episode, Jason breaks down how he structured an asset sale that allowed him to: Sell the high-value "parts" (marketing assets) without the operational baggage. Avoid a grueling earn-out (because the buyer didn't need him to run the company). Pay off his debt and fund his next venture. If you feel like your business model is grinding you down, this episode will open your eyes to the hidden value sitting on your balance sheet right now.
