In this episode of The Science of Flipping, I sat down with Jason from MotivatedSellers.com, one of the top lead generation companies in the game. We got real about what it actually takes to convert a motivated seller lead—spoiler alert: it's way more than a couple calls and a text. Jason breaks down why 27% of their leads close within a year, but 64% of those don't go under contract until 90+ days after the lead comes in. We dive deep into real data, proper expectations, why follow-up is everything, and how you can stop blaming the leads and start closing more deals. If you're running PPC, buying pay-per-leads, or thinking about lead gen in any serious way—this episode is your wake-up call. Becca Moore is a creator with half a million Instagram followers who launched her weekly podcast For The Girls with Becca Moore in 2024. Her guest is Grace Brassel who recently broke up with Shane Gillis. This interview is fascinating because Grace ain't over it and she terrified of upsetting the funny man she hopes to get back with. Whitney Cummings is really struggling to stay topical and be funny at the same time. The backlash from the Riyadh Comedy Festival is still tormenting her as she tries to subtly re-write history. Caught ye! Bill Burr was a guest on Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend and did so much damage to his career you'd think he was actively trying to lose his fanbase. We start off talking about Jeremy Piven's bizarre meet and greet. Somehow he's continuing to milk the Ari Gold character from Entourage. Whitney Cummings is getting a lot of shit from the commenters on behalf of WATP (thank you). She's trying to make jokes about the Epstein files without knowing anything about the Epstein files. She thinks she's edgy but it's just nonsense. After we learn that Ian Halperin enjoys our Opie coverage, we find that Keanu Thompson is now calling me a PDF file. Scorch had a huge announcement on his channel, even though he's retired he just can't quit the business of show. He just needs us to give him money, equipment, and content. Richard Marx makes a video with his sons to prove they don't have a good relationship. Bill Burr is losing his battle with anger management; the intrusive thoughts are taking over his podcast. Stuttering John was confronted with some hard truths by Tookie. StutJo completely shutdown when confronted then spun that into a victory. Does it matter whether we feel sorry when we ask for forgiveness? In this conversation, Rabbi Dr. Joshua Berman returns to discuss the surprising findings of his long-term research into forgiveness in the Hebrew Bible. The biblical word slicha (“forgiveness”) appears only in relation to God—not between people. In fact, there is no word for “apology” in biblical Hebrew. So how were offenses resolved? Drawing on honor culture studies and examples ranging from Jacob and Esau to Judah and Tamar, Dr. Berman argues that ancient Israel operated within a different moral economy. Reconciliation was not primarily about emotional sincerity or repairing inner feelings—it was about restoring public order and status. Offense disrupted hierarchy; reconciliation restored it. From duels between Hamilton and Burr to modern military and team dynamics, Berman shows how deeply culture shapes what we mean by “forgiveness.” The result is a paradigm shift that challenges modern Western assumptions about apology, sincerity, and moral transformation. The conversation concludes with the launch of Dr. Berman's new podcast, The Bible Bar, dedicated to exploring Scripture chapter by chapter with intellectual and spiritual integrity. This Day in Legal History: Aaron Burr Arrested (But Not For That)On February 18, 1807, former Vice President Aaron Burr was arrested in the Mississippi Territory on charges of treason against the United States. Once one of the most powerful men in the young republic, Burr had fallen from political grace after killing Alexander Hamilton in a duel and drifting to the margins of national life. Federal authorities accused him of plotting to carve out an independent nation in the western territories, possibly including lands belonging to Spain. The allegations sparked fear that the fragile Union could splinter only decades after independence.Later that year, Burr stood trial in Richmond, Virginia, before Chief Justice John Marshall, who was riding circuit. The case quickly became a constitutional showdown between executive power and judicial restraint. President Thomas Jefferson strongly supported the prosecution, but Marshall insisted that the Constitution's Treason Clause be applied strictly. The Constitution requires proof of an “overt act” of levying war against the United States, not merely evidence of intent or conspiracy.Marshall ruled that prosecutors had failed to present sufficient proof that Burr had committed such an overt act. As a result, the jury acquitted him. The decision established an enduring precedent that treason must be narrowly defined and carefully proven. By demanding clear evidence of action rather than suspicion or political hostility, the court reinforced limits on the government's power to punish alleged disloyalty. Burr's trial remains one of the earliest and most significant tests of constitutional safeguards in American legal history.Bayer AG and its Monsanto subsidiary have proposed a $7.25 billion nationwide class settlement to resolve current and future claims that Roundup exposure caused non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Filed in Missouri state court, the agreement would run for up to 21 years and provide capped, declining annual payments. People diagnosed before or within 16 years after final court approval could seek compensation through the program. The settlement must still receive judicial approval. The proposal is part of a broader strategy tied to the U.S. Supreme Court's pending review of Durnell v. Monsanto, which could determine whether federal pesticide labeling law blocks certain state failure-to-warn claims. Bayer has indicated that a favorable ruling could significantly limit future lawsuits, while the class program is designed to address claims regardless of the Court's decision. Plaintiffs' attorneys say the deal would cover both occupational and residential exposure and protect the rights of future claimants, while allowing individuals to opt out and pursue separate suits.Roundup litigation has generated tens of thousands of cases, with more than 40,000 already pending or subject to tolling agreements. Bayer inherited the legal challenges after acquiring Monsanto in 2018, and the ongoing litigation has weighed heavily on the company financially and reputationally. Previous jury verdicts have resulted in multibillion-dollar awards, some later reduced on appeal or by judges. The new proposal would replace an earlier settlement effort that collapsed in 2020 and aims to create a longer-term, more predictable compensation system.Bayer AG Unveils $7.3B Deal For Roundup Users - Law360Bayer proposes $7.25 billion plan to settle Roundup cancer cases | ReutersA Seattle federal jury found inventor Leigh Rothschild, several of his patent-holding companies, and his former attorney liable for violating Washington's anti-patent trolling law after asserting patent infringement claims against Valve Corp. Jurors concluded the defendants acted in bad faith under the Washington Patent Troll Prevention Act and also violated the state's consumer protection statute. Valve was awarded $22,092 in statutory damages. The jury also determined that Rothschild and his companies breached a 2016 global settlement and licensing agreement with Valve. Under that agreement, Valve paid $130,000 for rights to certain patents in exchange for a promise not to sue over them. Despite that covenant, Rothschild's entities later filed a 2022 infringement lawsuit and sent a 2023 letter threatening additional litigation. The jury awarded Valve $130,000 for the first breach and $1 for the second, finding no valid justification for repudiating the agreement. In addition, jurors ruled that one asserted patent claim was invalid because it would have been obvious to a skilled professional at the time of filing. The dispute stemmed from Valve's 2023 lawsuit accusing Rothschild of repeatedly pursuing claims covered by the prior settlement. The defense argued any mistakes were unintentional and not profit-driven, but the jury sided with Valve after a four-day trial. The case also involved procedural controversies, including sanctions over delayed financial disclosures and allegations that a defense filing contained fabricated quotations and citations generated by artificial intelligence. Post-trial motions are expected as the defense challenges aspects of the verdict.Valve Jury Says Rothschild, Atty Broke Anti-Patent Troll Law - Law360Beginning July 1, 2026, new federal limits will cap loans for professional degree students at $50,000 per year and $200,000 total, significantly changing how aspiring lawyers finance law school. Administrators and financial aid experts warn that the cap may push students to rely on private loans, which often carry higher interest rates and fewer protections. Unlike federal loans, private loans are generally not eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, making them riskier for students planning lower-paying public interest careers. Some admitted students are already reconsidering their options, choosing less expensive schools or withdrawing altogether after calculating potential debt burdens. Law schools may need to increase scholarships or other aid to support students who cannot secure private loans. Private lending has been minimal in legal education since 2006, when federal policy allowed graduate students to borrow up to the full cost of attendance, so there is uncertainty about how lenders will respond to renewed demand.Data show that about one-quarter of ABA-accredited law schools currently have average annual federal borrowing above the new $50,000 cap. At some elite institutions, graduates tend to earn high salaries, which may reassure private lenders. However, other schools with high borrowing levels report much lower median earnings, raising concerns about repayment risks. Experts warn that students at lower-ranked schools or from disadvantaged backgrounds could be hit hardest. In response, some schools are creating new financial strategies. The University of Kansas School of Law has launched an in-house loan program with a fixed 5% interest rate for borrowing above the cap. Santa Clara University School of Law is offering guaranteed scholarships to reduce tuition below the federal limit, and applications there have surged. Overall, the loan cap introduces financial uncertainty that could reshape enrollment decisions, access to legal education, and the long-term cost of becoming a lawyer.US law schools, students fear rising costs from new federal loan cap | ReutersThe U.S. Supreme Court has introduced new software designed to help identify potential conflicts of interest involving the justices. The tool will compare information about parties and attorneys in pending cases with financial and other disclosures maintained by each justice's chambers. These automated checks are intended to supplement, not replace, the justices' existing internal review process when deciding whether to step aside from a case.Under current practice, each of the nine justices independently determines whether recusal is necessary. The move comes after the Court adopted its first formal code of conduct in 2023, which states that a justice should withdraw when their impartiality could reasonably be questioned. Critics have pointed out that the code lacks an enforcement mechanism and leaves recusal decisions solely in the hands of the justices themselves. To support the new system, the Court is also strengthening filing requirements. Parties will need to provide more detailed disclosures, including fuller lists of involved entities and relevant stock ticker symbols. These updated requirements will take effect on March 16. Advocacy groups welcomed the technological upgrade as a step toward better ethics oversight, noting that similar conflict-checking systems have long been standard in lower federal courts.US Supreme Court adopts new technology to help identify conflicts of interest | Reuters This is a public episode. We're back in the old movie house for a vintage alt-Valentines romcom. Arrive early for the trailers — what I would play at some alt-Valentines film festival. Plus, decades-old Valentines‑flavored messaging it's going to be grand.Look, my daughter asked if I was doing a special episode for the upcoming "holiday," and I was like, "What holiday?""Valentines, did you get mom something."“I am now,” Valentine's… aka **** Halloween. Another holiday to unleash sugar onto our loved ones and watch them climb the ceiling...Our feature film is His Girl Friday, which stars Cary Grant as ruthless newspaper editor Walter Burns. You are already familiar with Grant's character as the “Get Out” meme.Rosalind Russell, the pride of Waterbury, CT, plays Hildy Johnson, star journalist. And I need to pause for a second — the movie is based on the play The Front Page, which has two male leads. In His Girl Friday Russell plays that lead and walks out of production for defining the cinematic accomplished female journalist (think Margot Kidder as Lois Lane). So if Russell is not the pride of Waterbury, CT, she should be. And for heaven's sake, don't try to figure out what the deal is with the giant cross marking the eastern side of the Brass City skyline (do you imagine a knee-high ghost town might creep you out)? From Waterbury, let's take I‑84 west and then north on the Thruway (or the Taconic Parkway if you're in the mood for beauty and can drive 55) to Albany, the pride of New York. Heh — I'm still a 518-er by heart. Long live Fish Fry spots and Altamont Fair.Any movie where Albany, NY, figures prominently is my kind of movie. In His Girl Friday, Albany winds up being the destination all along. Walter Burns' motivations in the movie are to rescue Hildy Johnson from a languished life in Albany, NY. And after winning Hildy back, Walter immediately takes her to Albany for their honeymoon. The film is fast-paced and even breaks the fourth wall a few times. Good stuff — two Ironweeds up.In the spirit of tough ladies (but unfortunately not Albany-centric), we have our first trailer for Some Kind of Wonderful: “…this is 1987. Did you know that a girl can be whatever she wants to be?” Mary Stuart Masterson's character asks, as she deals with some doofus named Ray. Gawd, I had such a crush on that character growing up — Stoltz, you idiot. And as mentioned at the top, a slew of other trailers I would consider alt-love stuff (in one case, explicitly because of the soundtrack). And, of course, I'm alt-signaling. I loathe Valentine's Day. Besides selling chocolate and flowers, the holiday seems designed to exasperate loneliness and force wide one's wallet.I don't know about y'all, but I'm still wrestling with the debt of the trinity of expensive American holidays just last year. Did that giant turkey dinner or flat screen under a gayly lit fake tree not say, "I love you?"PS: Hamilton needs more Albany — Alexander married in with the Schuylers. The Burr “Dangerous Man” letter that boiled over the Burr feud was printed in the Albany Register — a ****** Van Rensselaer is mentioned in that letter. You couldn't get more Albany without a beaver and Henry Hudson.Bleh — Albany should steal the logo of Alexander Hamilton doing the “Oh, oh, oh, what a feeling” Toyota jump off the top of the Hamilton star. Put it on the welcome to Albany sign with: "actually we killed Alexander Hamilton."

Laura actually tells John she used to have a crush on him and it's the worst thing she could have done. Bert Kreischer talks about the Zman on Fly on the Wall (allegedly). Whitney Cummings can't even get support from her friends after blasting Miss Rachel and becoming completely unhinged on social media. Whitney Cummings has been getting a lot of criticism for purchasing views on her videos since she gets 3 to 4 times as many as Joe Rogan. She was finally forced to address it and her explanation is nonsensical, confusing, and arrogant. She always chooses to talk down to her critics and it always backfires! Adam Busch is checking out Bill Burr's current anger-free streak. Bill has never been so calm and perfect, thanks to meditation and journaling. We look into Bill and Nia's history on podcasts and we see why Bill thinks everything is racism. Stuttering John and Ashley Cummings had a big falling out this week; we document why it happened, what Ashley had to say about it, and why it's all John's fault. The second half of Hamilton the Musical, which covers the post-Revolutionary period that just happens to be that of this podcast, is a bit more confusing than the first: "can we get back to politics, please?" as Jefferson puts it. The precise role of Alexander Hamilton after he left office, covering the John Adams administration, the elections of 1800 and 1804 and of course the famous duel with Aaron Burr which ended Hamilton's life are brilliantly covered but still leave some questions hanging. To resolve some of those, this episode sees the return of Peter Kastor, Professor of History and American Culture Studies at Washington University in St. Louis...Help us produce more episodes by joining the Napoleonic Quarterly community on Patreon: patreon.com/napoleonicquarterlyIn this episode you'll hear: - How the musical impacts on historical understanding, both illuminating and simplifying the era of the Founding Fathers; - Reflections on what the musical gets right and what it leaves out;- An exploration of the key events and debates of the 1790s, including the Jay Treaty, the Adams administration, and the complexities of early American politics that are glossed over or omitted in the musical;- Recommendations for books and resources to deepen knowledge about Hamilton's life and the broader revolutionary and post-revolutionary period, including the works of Alan Taylor and Joanne Freeman, as well as Peter Kastor's own research;- A nuanced discussion on the code of honor that shaped political and personal decisions, including the famous duel between Hamilton and Burr; and - Insights into the personal challenges and tragic second acts of the Founding Fathers, contrasted with their triumphs, and thoughts on how historical interpretation might change in years to come.Mentioned in this episode:Founders OnlineExplore the digitized collections of the papers of America's Founders, including Hamilton, Jefferson, Washington, and more.https://founders.archives.govRon Chernow's Biography of HamiltonThe biography that inspired “Hamilton: The Musical” and shaped popular understanding of Alexander Hamilton's life.https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/29384/alexander-hamilton-by-ron-chernow/Joanne Freeman's “Affairs of Honor”Highly recommended for anyone wanting to understand the culture of honor, dueling, and early American politics.https://yalebooks.yale.edu/book/9780300088770/affairs-of-honor/Alan Taylor's “American Revolutions”A Pulitzer Prize-winning historian's sweeping account of the Revolutionary era.https://wwnorton.com/books/9780393082815Ken Burns' Documentary: The American RevolutionA new, in-depth documentary series offering a broader perspective on the Revolution's impact.

In this episode, we go beyond the sanitized headlines and Netflix documentaries to examine the Ted Bundy case you were never supposed to know about, including the suppressed files, the buried reports, and the institutional failures that allowed one of America's most prolific serial killers to operate for years longer than he ever should have.We begin with Bundy's troubled origins at the Elizabeth Lund Home for Unwed Mothers, his violent grandfather Samuel Cowell, his grandmother's severe mental illness and electroconvulsive treatments, the family secret that made him believe his mother was his sister, and the chilling incident where three-year-old Ted placed butcher knives around his sleeping aunt's body while smiling. We examine the haunting case of eight-year-old Ann Marie Burr, who vanished from her Tacoma home in 1961 when Bundy was just fourteen years old and lived less than two miles away with a paper route through her neighborhood, and we discuss why the 2011 request to compare Bundy's DNA to evidence from that case was denied because his biological samples had been destroyed. We explore Bundy's work at the Seattle Crisis Clinic from 1971 to 1974, where he sat beside future true crime author Ann Rule taking calls from suicidal individuals while perfecting the manipulation techniques he would later use to lure women to their deaths, and we reveal his own admission that he learned how to sound caring even when he wasn't.We dive deep into the mathematics of murder and why the official victim count of thirty to thirty-six is almost certainly a fraction of the real total, with some investigators estimating the true number could exceed one hundred, and we examine the lost years between 1969 and 1973 when Bundy traveled extensively and left virtually no documented trail while young women matching his victim profile disappeared along the East Coast. We expose the systematic failures that allowed Bundy to keep killing, including Elizabeth Kloepfer's five separate reports to law enforcement that were ignored because detectives dismissed her as a hysterical woman, the nine months it took Utah authorities to arrest him after Carol DaRonch escaped his car with a handcuff still attached to her wrist, and the cross-jurisdictional catastrophe where police departments in four states refused to share information with each other. We reveal the truth behind both escapes, including the suspected accomplice inside the Aspen courthouse whose personnel file conveniently disappeared, the 1976 jail inspection report that identified the exact security weakness Bundy exploited in Glenwood Springs, and the fifteen-hour head start he received because holiday weekend staffing cuts reduced cell checks from hourly to every other hour.We uncover Bundy's carefully buried political career as a rising star in the Republican Party, his work on the Rockefeller presidential campaign, his security clearance to serve as a driver and bodyguard for Governor Daniel Evans, and how the party quietly scrubbed his employment records from their archives after his arrest. We examine what the jury never heard about the Chi Omega massacre, including how the bite mark evidence almost didn't exist because the attending physician failed to photograph the marks before they faded, the discrepancy in Nita Neary's eyewitness account that the defense never challenged, and the troubling theory that Kimberly Leach wasn't an aberration but a return to Bundy's true preference for younger victims. We analyze the death row interviews and the information Bundy provided about dump sites and victims that was never followed up by law enforcement, his manipulation of the Green River Killer investigation for his own benefit, and how his final interview with James Dobson blaming pornography contradicted everything he'd told forensic psychiatrists for years. We discuss the mystery of Carole Ann Boone's pregnancy on death row and the evidence that guards were bribed to allow physical contact during visits, the discredited science of bite mark analysis that formed the foundation of his Chi Omega conviction, and why the destruction of Bundy's DNA samples has prevented closure for families across the country whose daughters disappeared during the years he was active. We close with the questions that remain unanswered, the dump sites that were never searched due to budget cuts and political pressure, the hitchhiker victims along Interstate Five that were never officially linked to him, and the uncomfortable truth that many of the same institutional failures that allowed Bundy to kill for years still exist in our law enforcement system today. This episode contains discussions of violence, sexual assault, and crimes against children that some listeners may find disturbing.

Today, as we wrap up our seventh year and 399th episode of Your World of Creativity, it's fitting that we welcome a guest who perfectly captures the essence of transformation and growth — Rachel Burr.Rachel's Website @Catamentum on Instagram Rachel's Facebook page Rachel is an executive coach and leadership consultant with more than 20 years of experience helping leaders navigate the complex, unpredictable world of human dynamics. She knows that leadership can be messy — because people are unpredictable — and most leaders are promoted for technical excellence, not people skills.Rachel specializes in human-centered leadership, guiding executives to build self-awareness, empathy, and relational intelligence. Her book Butterfly Goo beautifully compares leadership growth to a caterpillar's transformation — messy, nonlinear, and deeply transformative.1. From Caterpillar to Leader — Why “Butterfly Goo”?Rachel, your metaphor of transformation is so vivid — comparing leadership development to the chaos of metamorphosis. What does that “goo” stage represent for leaders, and why do you think so many get stuck there instead of breaking through?Human-Centered Leadership in a Technical WorldYou often say leaders are promoted for technical excellence, not people skills. What are some of the most common people-dynamic challenges leaders face — and how can they start to build emotional and relational intelligence?Overcoming Fear and Finding FulfillmentMany of your clients struggle with fear — of failure, of being vulnerable, of not being enough. How do you help leaders confront those fears and replace them with a sense of purpose and fulfillment?Navigating Complex Workplace DynamicsWith your background in organizational development and clinical psychology, what practical tools or exercises do you use to help leaders manage interpersonal challenges and organizational change — especially in high-pressure environments?Humor, Humanity, and Real ChangeYou use humor and practical exercises to make deep transformation approachable. Why is it important for leaders to lighten up — and how can humor actually support growth, empathy, and connection?Rachel, as we wrap up this milestone episode and our seventh year of Your World of Creativity, what's one piece of advice you'd offer to leaders — or anyone listening — who's ready to embrace their own transformation and move from stuck to unstoppable? Thanks to our sponsor, White Cloud Coffee — fueling creative conversations everywhere. Listeners, enjoy 10% off your first order at whitecloudcoffee.comAnd before you go, be sure to download your free e-book A World of Creativity when you visit mark-stinson.com.Then come back for our next episode — as we begin our eighth year of creative conversations — where we'll continue to travel around the world to talk with creatives about how they get inspired, how they organize ideas, and most of all, how they gain the confidence and connections to launch their work out into the world.

The boys start with an update on Bill Burr who can't handle social media anymore. Opie is fascinated with rap lyrics that “the kids” are listening to these days. Anthony Cumia hops on as we watch Opie freak out about the rumors his family is no longer living with him. Oh, and he brought that up because a friendly chatter asked about Doggie. Michael Ray Bower has a very special New Year's message for his fans. Tequila Talk with Richard Marx and Daisy Fuentes gets crazy as they seem to be on completely different pages when it comes to their sex life. Poor Daisy can't see her side piece during the shutdown. Stuttering John found out that I had property stolen from my house and he couldn't be more excited about it. This is a huge victory for him and Ava. We start off this week checking out Jerry Seinfeld on We Might Be Drunk with Mark Normand and Sam Morril. Seinfeld doesn't give AF while Mark and Sam nervously try to get him to say something, anything interesting. Aaron Imholte from Steel Toe missed the goal by $140 on Tuesday and tried to act like he wasn't upset about it. On Wednesday's show we find out he was very, very upset about it. Bill Burr has life figured out; he even knows how to have fun at Disneyland now. Amazing! Howard Stern announces three more years at SiriusXM. He claims his entire staff didn't know until he said it live on the air. If that's true that's pretty messed up. These are all adults who have financial obligations to their families. Why would Howard want to stress these people out right before the holidays? Opie announces that Thursday is “Ron Day” and that all superchat money will go to Ron the Waiter. We'll see about that. Miss Judy returns to Stuttering John's show and he's never been hornier or more hard-up. Hamilton choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler is an absolute treasure trove. There's really no other way to say it. This is his fifth episode of The Hamilcast and he's still dropping details and Easter eggs and insight into a show we've all been talking about for over ten years. HOW DOES HE DO IT?! I have no idea, but at the very least, these episodes let you in on his incredible thought process. This week is all about the deep dives, so I hope you're ready for endless mind explosions. There are way too many to mention in the description but here's one just so I'm not totally leaving you hanging: Andy breaks down his process for "The Room Where it Happens," including details that never saw the light of day (hello nasty sand dance!), how Burr is essentially locking himself into a room ("he's screwing himself"), and we unpack some details we talked about last time ("The Room Where it Happens" = Road to Perdition). But seriously, that is just the tip of the iceberg with the deets and I cannot stress that enough. Andy also talks about the super tricky process of translating his very lyric-based choreography to work for the German production, which Easter eggs actually just coincidences, the Hamilton choreography he wants to go back and change, and why it's important to always, always, always be studying and working and creating so you can constantly be pulling from your catalogue. This episode was recorded in October of 2025 at WTF Media Studios in Manhattan and produced with Natalie Grillo from Any Moment Productions in collaboration with Meghan Miles. #217: Andy Blankenbuehler // Part One (2020) #218: Andy Blankenbuehler // Part Two (2020) #219: Andy Blankenbuehler // Part Three (2020) /// Gillian's Website The Hamilcast on TikTok The Hamilcast on Instagram Join the Patreon Peeps
