When thirty-four-year-old St. Paul housewife Carol Thompson was murdered in the spring of 1963, her entire neighborhood was shocked by the evil that had invaded their middle-class neighborhood. As far as anyone knew, Carol was a happily married mother of four who appeared to have it all, but the cruel brutality of her murder suggested someone had hated her enough to kill her. When investigators began to dig deeper into Carol's life and background, they found the truth was that, far from the happy façade she showed the world, Carol Thompson's life was anything but happy. In the weeks that followed her death, investigators would uncover an unexpectedly complicated conspiracy involving several well-known criminals, all leading back to the one person no one wanted to suspect.Thank you to the Incredible Dave White of Bring Me the Axe Podcast for research and Writing support!ReferencesAssociated Press. 1963. However it highlights how stupidly strong Tess is, along with her numerous powerlifting accomplishments. During the 1970s in Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Prince George's Counties in Maryland, there were numerous unsolved homicides--mostly of young women--fitting similar patterns. Our first case involves the murder a 17 year old named Donna Lee Dustin who was killed while her family was on vacation. Her murder has haunted residents of Bowie, Maryland for over 40 years. A story of sex, drugs, and rock n roll we look into Donna's case which has baffled investigators. Then we discuss several murders of young women that may have connections to the famous Maryland murder of Sister Cathy Cesnik. Cesnik's case was featured on the Netflix series, The Keepers. Our unsolved cases are eerily similar to Cesniks with the victims having ties to Father Joseph Maskell, a Catholic priest implicated in numerous sexual assaults. Were these murders the works of individuals, a serial killer or perhaps multiple serial killers working in Maryland during the 1970s? Mountain Murders checks out differing possibilities and theories surrounding these unsolved cold cases. Intro Music by Joe Buck YourselfHosts: Heather & Dylan Email: mountainmurderspodcast@gmail.com

Brasil-Mundo - Cineastas e produtores brasileiros aguardam a retomada em Hollywood pós-pandemia

Brasil-Mundo

E o roteiro é a raiz do projeto.

This act would eliminate the statute of limitations for abuse victims, allowing them to have their day in civil court to expose their abuser. However, it is necessary to talk about such things in order for us to separate victim from abuser, so we can see how systematically premeditated Maskell and other perpetrators are in their efforts to make their victims believe they are solely responsible for what happened to them. The seven-part series delves into allegations of unthinkable sexual assault, perpetrated by a trusted Father at the all-girls Catholic High School where Cesnik worked. There is much speculation that the nun was going to expose the Father and this what could have led to her murder. But the point. Despite all these allegations Father Joseph Maskell was moved around within the church district of Baltimore for decades. The response to this whole saga is appalling. It is all about protecting the reputation of the church. Gemma Hoskins From "The Keepers" on Netflix   This is the lead up to Halloween in which I feature different themes revolving around this holiday. Stories about facing your fears, spooky stories, psychics, magic, murder, and more have been featured, and I could not wait to release this episode. There was once a suggestion on Netflix given to me by a friend, that suggestion was a documentary called “The Keepers”. I had no clue what the show was about, but trusted the source and one weekend while I was ill decided to binge it. I was instantly hooked.   Where do I even start with this? How do I tell you to watch this show without giving too much away? The story is disturbing, but it is an important one to hear. It revolves around a cold case murder that took place 50 years ago in Baltimore, Maryland. It unfolds to reveal a parallel storyline about female students who are now grown up women that attended the Catholic school named Keough and triggered memories of their time at school.   Secrets, murder, rape, and more come to light in this documentary. You won’t believe what you hear, and who was all involved. It is important especially when so many priests and the Arch Diocese are being currently investigated in many cities across the country, and I believe that "The Keepers" had a huge hand in triggering a lot of this. Remember, this was before Spotlight, and I can not imagine the guts it took for these women and men to come forward, face their pasts, and confront their abusers. It is truly horrifying, but it has prompted even some friends that have had similar experiences to speak openly about them, and that is important. I could not wait to release this for the lead up to Halloween especially because Sister  Cathy Cesnick.  IS a Pittsburgh native. She is buried in her hometown of Sharpsburg.   Gemma Hoskins is one of the leading investigators who researched this story. I was honored she took the time to answer my questions about the case, and was very candid about where we are currently in this investigation. Her and friend Abbie Schaub were very brave historians and students of Cathy. They have even been featured on "The View" to talk about the show. Gemma and Abbie spring boarded this investigation, and hopefully with the help of others who have information we will have Justice for Sister Cathy and all the victims of abuse out in the world.   Check out the Justice for Cathy Cesnik and Joyce Malecki Facebook page, and follow along in the events that are unfolding. Topics discussed- - How the investigation started and lead to Gemma and Abbie - How the Netflix show picked up the information and formulated the show. - Who is Brother Bob? Marta and Gemma discuss. - Why the police are finally now more involved in working to solve the case. - Where YOU can take your information if you have leads. - Does Gemma feel as though we are any closer to solving the case? - Were the other nuns involved? - Will there be a season 2 of The Keepers? In this special episode Kate asks a medium to discuss the unsolved mysteries of the murders of Sister Cathy Cesnik and Kathleen Peterson, the kidnapping of Sherri Papini, and the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Catherine Anne "Cathy" Cesnik SSND was a Catholic religious sister who taught English and drama at the formerly all-girls Archbishop Keough High School in Baltimore, Maryland. On November 7, 1969, Cesnik disappeared. Her body was discovered on January 3, 1970, near a garbage dump in the Baltimore suburb of Lansdowne. Her murder remains unsolved. In December 2001, novelist Michael Peterson called to report that his wife Kathleen had fallen down a set of stairs and died. The authorities disbelieved Peterson's story that Kathleen had fallen while drunk and concluded instead that Peterson had bludgeoned her to death, most likely with a fireplace poker which was discovered missing from the house. Peterson was soon charged with murder and the Netflix series The Staircase details the ensuing case from the point of view of Peterson and his defense team, led by David Rudolf. Sherri Papini claims she was abducted on November 2, 2016, while out jogging a mile from her home in Redding, California. Papini was 34 years old at the time. She was found three weeks later on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, having been freed by her captors at 4:30 that morning still wearing restraint. The case garnered major media attention, but no arrests have been made and authorities report the investigation is ongoing as of April, 2017Madeleine McCann disappeared on the evening of May 3, 2007 from her bed in a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, a resort in the Algarve region of Portugal, sparking what one newspaper called “the most heavily reported missing-person case in modern history”.
