On this episode Nathan looks back to 2015, a simpler time when thousands were terrified that the American federal government was about to use the US Army to invade Texas and impose martial law. Did it happen? Listen and find out... Also, no. No it didn't happen.
In this episode of Horns of a Dilemma, Will Inboden, executive director of the Clements Center, sits down with Professor Paul Pope and Dr. Kiril Avramov of the Intelligence Studies Project at the University of Texas and Dr. Calder Walton, assistant director of the Applied History Program at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, to discuss the history of influence operations and active measures by the Soviet Union and Russia. Their wide-ranging discussion covers everything from Soviet active measures in Chile, to the theory of reflexive control that governed the Soviet strategy of conducting influence operations, to the response in the United States to Operation JADE HELM, Russian interference in the 2016 election, and the role of social media in advancing political warfare goals. Join us for a fascinating conversation about history that has urgent implications for today.
Ever wonder what kind of work a spy agency actually does? Real-world espionage rarely resembles the on-screen exploits of Hollywood secret agents. The entangled (and often complicated) grand chess game has had many bloody and unintended world consequences. The successes and failures of spies and their agencies overall have shaped foreign policy, altered the course of wars, and left a deep (though usually hidden) impression on world history. An examination of U.S. covert-action policy since World War II reveals many surprising facts that are not always fully appreciated. Both the scope and the scale of such operations have often times been enormous. Paramilitary operations--which can be more accurately described as secret wars, the most extreme form of covert action--have resulted in countless deaths and immense destruction. Covert operations and proxy wars have become the instrument of choice for hardliner policymakers who assume that a cold war status quo is inevitable, therefore regime change is preferable. Covert operations, by definition, are difficult to examine. Because they are shrouded in secrecy, one is never sure whether all the relevant data concerning their scope, origin, and degree of success are at hand. Is it time for a reassessment of the role of covert operations in U.S. foreign policy? How effective are they? Under what circumstances (if any) should they be used? What reforms are needed? You decide. For your listening pleasure, this episode features:A bite sized sampling of future cities and transportation (0:00)Featuring a savory dive into the world of government and military operations (20:00)And to cleanse your pallet, discourse on the decline of physical media (01:26:10)(Thanks for listening and check out our later episodes where our sound quality gets exponentially better.)Please note: This episode features explicit language and content***WITH YOUR HELP- Markus and Drew can improve bringing you more of this kind of electrifying information with better equipment, software, etc. If you liked what you heard and can afford to help us grow, please throw a couple bucks our way ...and if your budget is too tight but you still want to help please Like, Share and/or leave us a good review. ***SUPPORT- https://paypal.me/phase2phase?locale.x=en_USError Corrections:01:22:20 Markus was thinking of the "Lusitania". In the aftermath of the unexpected climb-down by the Greek government following its successful referendum, speculation is rife as to why the Syriza government suddenly capitulated to the Troika's 'austerity' demands. The Commander-In-Chief's benevolent, beneficent...Operation Jade Helm 15, and historical correlations.
In this episode we take some great call on the topics of Operation Jade Helm and Doug's new cigar company La Verdad (which translates to "The Truth" ) and much more in this podcast!
From July 15th to September 15th of 2015, the U.S. military will be conducting a massive military drill throughout 9 states in an operation entitled Jade Helm. This rather alarming drill across the entire American Southwest will include the US Army's Green Berets, US Marines Special Ops Command, US Navy Seals, and US Air Force Special Ops Command. The stated purpose of the drill contradicts how this unprecedented exercise will actually be carried out.Combine this with the document labeling entire U.S. states as 'hostile' leaves one with a sinking feeling. While All News Pipeline continues to receive photographs from readers across the country of strange happenings at Wal Marts and military convoys, the 1st video below from videographer HighImpactFlix should finally silence the govt agents and trolls attempting to debunk ties between Jade Helm 15, the US Military and Wal Marts across the country as an employee from Wal Marts home office makes the eye-opening admission himself about Wal Marts ties to the US military and the US military's ability to use Wal Mart stores across the country if they so desire. if you have time to listen to the entire video, listen to how the tone of this guys voice changes when asked about Jade Helm 15 from earlier in the conversation. This one should be a game changer. Much more below videos including new pictures sent to ANP by a reader in Texas showing what could be a 'prison cell' and more shipping containers at a still-open Walmart in Texas. https://youtu.be/6OrE7_3OIRE
Emily Bazelon, David Plotz, and John Dickerson discuss whether Pamela Geller's "Draw Muhammad" event should be cheered or jeered, debate why the GOP presidential field is so diverse, and fret over the multistate military drill known at Operation Jade Helm.
