Vandenberg Space Force Base has a long and storied history of spectacular missile and rocket launches and has been essential to some of the most advanced defense technologies ever tested and developed by the U.S. military and its contractors. Vandenberg has also been the site of many of the most dramatic UFO incursions in history. In this episode of Weaponized, Jeremy and George are joined by an Air Force veteran, Jeff Nuccetelli, who spent years at Vandenberg as a military police officer and who witnessed and investigated spectacular but chilling incursions by gigantic craft of unknown origin, including the sudden appearance of an enormous cube or rectangle that glowed red as it slowly crept over the top-secret Vandenberg range. The story told by this witness is included in a soon-to-be-released documentary film, The Age of Disclosure, by director Dan Farah. In this conversation, he shares previously unknown details about the Red Square UFO and about a similar incursion by another gigantic object that appeared over the base and caused perplexed security personnel to ask some tough questions. Tras 14 meses y medio de gobierno de Daniel Noboa, los ecuatorianos votan este domingo en medio de una crisis multidimensional que abarca la economía, el sistema energético, la institucionalidad y la seguridad. Ecuador es el primer país de Latinoamérica en índice de homicidios.  La violencia que el país andino arrastra hace un lustro se arreció en 2024, segundo año consecutivo más violento en la historia de Ecuador, con un homicidio intencionado cada 75 minutos, según datos de la Policía Nacional. Incluso en las elecciones anteriores fue asesinado el candidato presidencial Fernando Villavicencio. Las matanzas en las cárceles son moneda corriente. Enero de 2025 es el mes más violento de los últimos tres años, con un asesinato cada hora.  “¿Cómo llegamos a esto? Si tuvimos ya unos niveles super reducidos de violencia, ¿qué pasó?”, se pregunta Carla Álvarez, investigadora del Instituto de Altos Estudios Nacionales y experta en seguridad."Hubo una desinstitucionalización del país y del campo de la seguridad. Teníamos un Estado mucho más fuerte en el campo de la seguridad y, de repente, se dio una reducción del tamaño estatal, una reducción de todas las instituciones, de su presupuesto, de funcionarios y funciones", explica a RFI. Eso provocó que hubiera "espacios fuera de control y los espacios que están controlados, se debilitan al mínimo, dejas que la tecnología se pudra", denuncia la investigadora. Y esto afectó, afirma, a cárceles, puertos, aeropuertos y carreteras. "El Ecuador se convierte es un territorio baldío. Una autopista genial para sacar droga hacia el mundo, donde nadie controla, nadie ve y nadie dice nada", agrega. ¿Cuando ocurrió este desmonte del Estado?  "A partir del 2017, claramente. Nosotros veníamos de un modelo de desarrollo de tipo nacionalista y desarrollista que creía y confiaba mucho en la planificación estatal centralizada. Esto significaba que el Estado debía ser grande para poder controlar los espacios y los asuntos estratégicos", recuerda. "Viene un nuevo gobernante, Lenín Moreno, que dice ‘no, así no funcionan las finanzas públicas, estamos muy endeudados y no podemos asumir este gasto estatal. Hay que cortar al Estado'. A partir del 2017 todos los gobiernos han seguido la misma política", afirma a RFI."El crimen organizado encontró a Ecuador con los pantalones abajo""Noboa no es el culpable de todo porque los anteriores gobiernos no habían invertido en nada, y eso en un contexto de pandemia que debilitó muchísimo a la sociedad, fuimos el segundo país con más mortalidad.  Además, hay un escenario o unas condiciones apropiadas para el crecimiento del crimen organizado en el mundo. Pero, lo que pasa es que al Ecuador lo encuentra con los pantalones abajo."Cuando el joven Noboa llega al poder se encuentra con un gobierno muy nuevo que tenía que sostener en popularidad si quería proyectarse para un siguiente mandato. Y dice voy a tomar acciones de mano dura para posicionar su imagen como una persona, no que obtiene resultados, sino que sí se preocupa. Entonces, empieza a tomar  medidas sobre la marcha y declara el 'conflicto armado intern'o, saca a los militares a las calles, pide una reforma constitucional para prohibir la prisión preventiva, aunque eso viola los derechos humanos, los principios legales y el Estado de Derecho e Invade la Embajada de México para coger al ex vicepresidente Jorge Glas. Todo esto para mostrarse como un actor, un hacedor, un hombre de acción".Violaciones de los derechos humanos de parte de las Fuerzas ArmadasDaniel Noboa llevaba menos de dos meses en el cargo, cuando delincuentes armados irrumpieron en el estudio de una cadena de televisión estatal durante una transmisión en directo. El presidente declaró, entonces, en "conflicto armado interno” al país y emitió un decreto ejecutivo declarando el estado de excepción y movilizando a las Fuerzas Armadas por todo el territorio para “neutralizar grupos terroristas”.El Comité Permanente por la Defensa de los Derechos Humanos denuncia violación de derechos humanos de parte de las  Fuerzas Armadas ecuatorianas en el marco del estado de excepción. En su último informe reporta  a 27 personas víctimas de desapariciones forzadas, crimen de lesa humanidad,  en la zonas costeras del pais. Nueve de ellas son menores de edad. Las víctimas son civiles pobres, afrodescendientes, campesinos y sin prontuario delictivo, aseguró a Radio Francia Internacional el responsable legal del organismo de defensa de DDHH, Fernando Bastias.

Here's one for you.Thousands of years ago aliens landed on earth. They came in great space ships, which the ancients took to be chariots of the gods, and they came for gold.
