The St. Joseph's Health Project Lappin's most impactful work involved addressing a critical healthcare challenge in Paterson, New Jersey. Pregnant women weren't asking clinical questions during appointments, creating gaps in care. Through research, his team discovered that women felt more comfortable when they found shared experiences with their healthcare providers. The solution? A simple "Would You Rather?" card game that pairs clinical topics, encouraging both patients and nurses to share stories and find common ground. One powerful example: a 19-year-old patient with a history of sexual abuse initially refused a pelvic exam. After playing the game and bonding over pasta sauce preferences, she opened up and began asking about delivery options she hadn't known existed. The Philosophy Behind Play Lappin's approach stems from two core influences: his childhood collecting baseball cards (visual appeal backed by data) and growing up with a disabled younger brother (fostering empathy and caregiving instincts). He believes play gives people permission to approach problems differently by lowering stakes and reducing formality. 9/2/25 - Fr. Francis Mary Roaldi, CFR, a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal serving in the Diocese of Paterson, New Jersey, shares how his ordinary childhood in suburban Buffalo, once filled with simple dreams like Spider-Man and garbage trucks, slowly gave way to a restless search for meaning that ultimately led him to the priesthood. Though raised Catholic, faith wasn't central to his youth, and during college he drifted into depression and uncertainty until a providential conversation with a friend who “knew Jesus like a person” awakened him to the reality of God's love. From there, his journey took many turns: wrestling with relationships, questioning his place in the Church, and working as a caseworker in New York City before encountering the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. In the stillness of a chapel, he heard the life-changing invitation to “be a priest,” a call he embraced after years of prayer and discernment. Now, with over seven years of priesthood and sixteen years as a consecrated religious, Fr. Francis reflects on God's faithful love and the unexpected path that transformed his life and vocation.

Robyn started acting professionally from the age of 14. She has a BA in Performing and Screen Arts from the Unitec School of Performing Arts in Auckland, New Zealand, graduating in 2009. During her time there she studied under Sanford Meisner graduate Michael Saccente. From there she continued her studies at The Neighbourhood Playhouse School of Theatre, otherwise known as The Meisner School in New York. She then returned to New Zealand to complete her post-graduate studies in Journalism from the Auckland University of Technology in 2012. Her acting work, like her studies, have taken her all over the globe. In 2013 she won the Best Female Newcomer at the Sydney Theatre Festival for her one woman show “The South Afreakins” which also enjoyed a sold out run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016. Her show was also named as “The Edinburgh Reporters Pick of the Fringe”leading to a further tour of New Zealand. She moved to London in 2014 where she began working in post-production for television commercials across the UK, Europe and UAE (United Arab Emirates). Then onto teaching at Royal Holloway in the directing faculty, to taking her Meisner workshops to Kingston and Roehampton Universities among many more. On top of all this she is the commander-in-chief of The London Meisner Company, leading workshops across London on Sanford Meisner's techniques to help actors give the best performance they can. In order to believe Sean Ellis is innocent, you'd have to believe that his uncle, best friend, and girlfriend were (are) lying. To our knowledge none of these witnesses, that tied Ellis directly to the brutal 1993, homicide recanted their testimony, why? Sean Ellis's co-defendant told the police Sean Ellis shot Det. Mulligan five times in the face, Sean's girlfriend testified Sean brought the guns to her house, she left her fingerprint on the weapon. Sean's Uncle Dave asked Sean where the guns were, Sean gave detailed information as to where and how the guns were hidden, that is exactly how the weapons were recovered. So The question is where is the mystery in this case? It is true that corrupt police detectives were involved in Sean Ellis's case, the remedy for that is a retrial, but claims of actual innocence? As a young weaver, his experiences with exploitation in the workplace drew him to anarchism. Bresci emigrated to the United States, where he became involved with other Italian immigrant anarchists in Paterson, New Jersey. News of the Bava Beccaris massacre motivated him to return to Italy, where he planned to assassinate Umberto. Local police knew of his return but did not mobilize. Bresci killed the king in July 1900 during Umberto's scheduled appearance in Monza amid a sparse police presence.The government of Italy suspected that Bresci had been a part of a conspiracy but no evidence was found to indicate that others were involved. He was consequently sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and confined on Santo Stefano Island in Latina, Lazio, where he was found dead of an apparent suicide within the year. After his death, Bresci gained the status of a martyr within the Italian anarchist movement, who defended his regicidal act. Bresci inspired some anarchists to carry out their own acts of propaganda by deed, most prominently Leon Czolgosz's assassination of United States president William McKinley. Today's poem explains why some Australians wear beards.Andrew Barton "Banjo" Paterson, CBE (17 February 1864 – 5 February 1941) was an Australian bush poet, journalist and author, widely considered one of the greatest writers of Australia's colonial period.Born in rural New South Wales, Paterson worked as a lawyer before transitioning into literature, where he quickly gained recognition for capturing the life of the Australian bush. A representative of the Bulletin School of Australian literature, Paterson wrote many of his best known poems for the nationalist journal The Bulletin, including "Clancy of the Overflow" (1889) and "The Man from Snowy River" (1890).
