Many people give little thought to Jesus’ ascension. Yet, it is so important to our faith. We see that it was not only real; it was Christ’s coronation! In His ascension, we find great confidence and assurance.

This week we continue our series in the book of Acts with special guest speaker Dr. Alan Hultberg from Talbot School of Theology. He walks us through Acts 1:1-11 with a message on the right tool for the job Jesus has for us.
(**apologies for the poor audio quality this session) Even after His resurrection, Jesus teaches His followers about the kingdom of God. And He does so "through the Holy Spirit". If the glorified & resurrected Son of God relied on the Holy Spirit in communicating Gospel truths, so should we. Everything done in the book of Acts is done this same way - through the Spirit. Knowing the times and seasons of some things isn't a disciples' business - doing and teaching everything Jesus commanded is their business, and they only accomplish it through the Spirit. Jesus explains and clarifies that His mission and kingdom is global, and that the Helper will come to empower Christians to do what He's commissioned them to do.

IT IS FAR SAFER, FAR LESS DEMANDING, TO BE A SPECTATOR THAN A WITNESS. THE ASCENSION MEANS THAT CHRIST HAS TRANSFERRED THE WITNESSING JOB TO US.
Welcome to Christ Community Church of Wilmington NC. We are committed to teaching the Bible, transforming lives, and touching our world.

Acts 1:1-11
The book of Acts gives the account of the early church in the first few decades after Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Specifically, we will focus on a passage each week that will help us learn how to be a more active church.

God calls us all to work. Even Jesus worked to accomplish the will of God the Father. What does Christ’s work mean for us as individuals and what does it mean for those around the globe? Listen as Pastor Jeremy teaches us about the most important work in the history of the world. Scriptures: Acts 1:1-11 Ephesians 2 Romans 3:23 Romans 6:23
Before Jesus ascended, the disciples assumed the next item on the agenda would be to overthrow Rome and restore Jerusalem and Israel to the Jews. Instead, Jesus promised the disciples the Holy Spirit and sent them on a mission that would cover the globe. Join us as we begin our Witness series to see how the Holy Spirit worked in Acts and continues today.
In beginning a new decade, it is good to get a fresh view of how God has chosen us to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to our day.
As Jesus was preparing to ascend back to the Father, He has last instructions to give to His disciples. He has a great mission for Him as they become His witnesses to a lost world.
