One of the most obvious habits that Jesus had was prayer. Jesus was always praying! How do we grow healthy prayer habits in our lives? How do we pray for others like Jesus did?

Join us this Sunday morning (August 7) at 10:00 AM Pacific time for our worship service, as we continue our study of the book of Luke. Pastor Gary Barber will be preaching on Luke 11:1-13, “How To Pray Like Jesus Prayed.” Jesus gave us a pattern for prayer—the Lord’s Prayer—with Worship, Intercession, Petition, Confession, Deliverance, and Declaration (or Doxology). Today we are going to learn to pray to our Heavenly Father just as Jesus prayed. May God bless you, fill you with His joy, and deepen your relationship with Himself as you participate in our service this morning. Be sure to download the Worship Guide. Click the “Download PDF” button and it will open in a new window where you may print it or save it to your computer. And while watching us online be sure to text us so we know you have joined us. According to Anne Lamott, when Americans tend to pray, they tend to pray three things: (1) thank you, thank you, thank you, (2) help me, help me, help me, and (3) I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. But what if there's more to prayer than that? And what if it actually matters WHO you're talking to? In this message, Pastor Max gives some practical advice on practicing praying to God.

German reformer Martin Luther once said, "To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing." Jesus himself held prayer as a vital, daily part of his relationship with the Father, both privately and with his disciples. No wonder, then, the disciples come to him and ask him to teach them to pray as he did. Jesus gladly obliged, and gifted them--and us--with not only an example of what to pray, but a prayer from his own heart that would bless through the centuries. This morning we will look at the prayer and Jesus' expectation that it would become a part of the life of the church forever, how Jesus reveals the character of God through the prayer, and a promise of prayer that brings hope in our time.
Prayer is the needy child talking with His Father. Jesus shows us what it looks like to approach God as our Father and shape our prayers according to His Fatherly care.
We started our series, Present Future Church, talking about how do we stay hungry in pursuit of the presence of God when we are full and satisfied. This week we had our friend, Pastor Jonny Hughes, from Trinity Church Nottingham, come and invite us into the shameless audacity it takes to become people who are hungry for the presence of God. It will take those who have the courage to call God, "Father," to see the future church be brought into the present. Listen to the podcast to learn more.

Prayer is one of the most important and central Christian practices. And the Lord's Prayer is one of the oldest and most well-known of Christian prayers. Last week in worship we're taking a look at the Lord's Prayer as Jesus teaches it in Luke 11:1-13. Through this prayer, Jesus encourages us to be persistent in prayer. We must keep at it. And we can keep at it because our God keeps at it with us.

In this sermon Pastor Keith explains how God calls His people to be persistent in prayer using the prayer pattern that Jesus gave to His disciples, known as The Lord's Prayer. In Luke Jesus taught this way of praying to a disciple who asked Him to teach Him how to pray. If you desire to learn how to pray then you would do well to ask the Lord to teach you and then use the prayer pattern that He gave us in Luke 11 and Matthew 6.
Prayer is the tool that keeps us close to our Heavenly Father. How we view our Heavenly Father determines the intimacy we have with Him through prayer.

As Matt continues through the series he discusses how we often live away from God and how God has made it possible to be WITH Him instead.
