He meets us in our weariness, reminds us of His promises, and aligns our hearts with His. He wants to give us more than an answer—He wants to be our answer. One of the first Bible verses Rachel’s daughter Taylor learned was, “The battle is the Lord’s” (1 Samuel 17:47). Those words became a family mantra throughout Taylor’s life, and they remain a beautiful reminder for each of us today. Whatever you are facing, you do not have to fight in your own strength. Imagine being granted an audience with a king. As you enter the throne room, you would not begin by rushing through your list of requests—you would first acknowledge his majesty. In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef reflects on the opening words of the Lord's Prayer: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.” To hallow God's name means to set it apart as holy. Without the sacrificial death of Jesus, there is no forgiveness. But through His death and resurrection, believers are redeemed, restored to right fellowship with God, and adopted into His family. By the Holy Spirit, we no longer live as slaves to fear—we cry, “Abba, Father.” Dr. Youssef also reminds us that Biblical repentance is not self-improvement; it is receiving Christ's free gift of salvation. In Him, we are given new life, freedom from the past, power to change, and the right to come to God in prayer. When you cry out to God and wonder whether He hears, do not give up. Because of Christ's atoning blood, you can approach the throne of grace with confidence, receiving mercy and finding grace in your time of need. Just as Jesus expects His disciples will give to the needy, so He expects that they will pray. He warns against the prayer of the hypocrites, in which an outward show is the goal, and He also warns against the prayer of the Gentiles, in which prayer is heard by an abundance of words. Jesus instead grounds His disciples' prayer in faith that their heavenly Father loves them, hears them, and already knows what they need. Jesus teaches His disciples how to pray with such confidence, giving them the very petitions that are pleasing to Him.  Rev.
