Stephanie Nielson began sharing her life in 2005 through her blog the NieNie Dialogues, she centered her writing on home life and motherhood. Then in 2008, she was in a fiery plane crash with her husband Christian. They both survived but she was badly burned over more than 80 percent of her body. She then wrote her New York Times bestseller, “Heaven is Here” about the entire experience.  During our conversation, Stephanie shares what life looks like now that kids are growing up and moving out of the house, what daily little things make all the difference in creating a happy home, and how simplicity is key to making holiday time extra special. How much time are you spending thinking about your body and appearance, instead of your dreams and goals and other pursuits? For me, personally, it has been too much time. I recount a few very specific memories from my youth that shaped my own ideas of a perfect body, which, if you're familiar with my story, led to very difficult years of disordered eating. My guess is that you can relate and may have also struggled to really honor your body.   One thing I want you to remember, though, is that you are not your body. We must support and honor our physical bodies, but they do not define us and are not our identity. In this episode I'm sharing 4 things that have worked for me as I learn to honor my body. These are not strict rules, rather ways to help you find a new perspective as you develop a loving relationship with your body.   RESOURCES MENTIONED: Rational Faiths "Art, Nudity, and Modesty", Stephanie Nielson's "My New Life," About Progress Episode 97 "Stepping Into Your Power by Building a Resilient Body Image" with Lindsay Kite, phD, Episode 263 "Why You Don’t Need to be Afraid of Intuitive Eating" with Beth Summers, Episode 318 "How to Overcome Body Obsession" with Lexie Kite, phD, Episode 329 "A Misplacement of Identity"   About a few other things...   It's time to belong to yourself again, so you can belong to your life. Get my free and easy Belonging Guide, where I walk you through how to figure out what's missing in your life and what you can do about it.   If you feel stuck, or lost, it's time to uncover who you are and belong to yourself again with my newest course focused on identity. #GratitudeUnFiltered #Stephanie Nielson #CreativeExtraordinaire Gratitude:UnFiltered “The Chronicles of Stephanie Nielson” As a Canadian author, speaker, and professional coach, Stephanie Nielson is someone who consistently pushes herself to reach past her current limitations to become more. Stephanie dubs herself a “Creative Extraordinaire” and revels in her understanding of how we are all the masters of our own universe and have the ability to create the world we want to live in. The joy she takes from observing her own reality unfold in unimaginable ways inspires her to help others to achieve the same. She strongly believes in the philosophy of “Reach one, teach one” and claims that any and all success is achieved by cultivating the right mindset. For it does not matter where you begin, but only where you chose to end! Having survived an alcoholic parent, a divorced home, being a single parent who raised two young sons alone, developing a 6+ figure income with no formal education and creating a successful and well-respected career in a male-dominated industry, there are many areas in which Stephanie can speak to with her experiences and expertise. She believes, however, that her true message is about overcoming obstacles. It is with this perspective that she has written three books and developed a speaker/coaching practice through the John Maxwell Certification Program. It is Stephanie’s passion and her calling to help others overcome their obstacles, whatever they may be, to reach their next level of excellence.

SUPER honored/proud to release my latest interview with Heidi Nielson Packard and Dr. Josh Packard. This powerful, informative, and in-depth interview covers: Heidi and Josh’s very orthodox Mormon upbringing and early years as Mormons. For those interested, Heidi’s brother is Christian Nielson, who is married to Stephanie Nielson of the NieNie Dialogues blog (sister to Courtney Clark Kendrick or CJane) Their faith crisis involving science and LDS history (reading Joseph Smith: Rough Stone Rolling), which resulted in Josh asking to be released from the bishopric, How Heidi and Josh found value in secular humanism as a way to raise their children after Mormonism, How the military community has helped to meet there social needs after leaving Mormonism, and How they overcame early “mistakes” in communicating with believing family, resulting in more loving, respectful relationships with believing family members today.
