This episode is dedicated to the late Miꞌkmaq filmmaker Jeff Barnaby. Jeff passed away 13 Oct 2022 at the age of 46. Rest in Power Jeff. Our third episode in our Hot Ghouls of Halloween series is Christophe Gans's atmospheric horror flick Silent Hill. Based on the 1999 video game of the same name, Silent Hill showcases the work of cinematographer Dan Laustsen (John Wick 2-4, The Shape of Water, Nightmare Alley). Speaking of hot ghouls, we had hot ghoul creator Andrea Hunter as our guest. Andrea is a world class horror photographer who has toured and shot for Canadian band Walk of the Earth and photo campaigns for Von D shoes (Ya that Von D). With her studio in Hamilton, Ontario (steel town), she specialises in turning regular girls into hot ghoul horror pin ups and giving the occasional awkward boner (her words not ours). Chaney Elaine, vocalist of House Parties, has been absolutely incredible when it comes to marketing their band on social media. Taking advantage of the algorithm TikTok using their catchy choruses and her glorious vocals has been putting them on the map in the pop-punk scene. They recently just played a one off festival in Texas called Unsilent Night, and will be hitting the road come January of the new year. In this episode, we’ll be featuring Stephanie’s audio pieces that she did as part of her grad school studies at the Columbia School of Journalism. The pieces are titled “Unsilent Night” — which is about a decades-long sound composition against traditional Christmas music — and “A Night at Greenwood Cemetery” — which is about Stephanie’s night tour of the famous cemetery in Brooklyn, in New York City. We thought it’d be cool for you listeners to get a listen behind the scenes at what Stephanie’s been up to! Finally, we just want to say a big thank you to all of you who have listened to our episodes, supported us, and shared our podcast to your friends and family over the years. It’s another eventful year for us — with Stephanie moving to the Bay Area and Swedian moving back home to Indonesia — but we’re always grateful and humbled to know that our stories and interviews continue to inspire listeners around the world and (hopefully!) move conversations toward a more progressive and just global perspective. We’re excited about what 2020 and beyond holds for us, and we can’t wait to share those stories with you in the near future. Until then, have a good end to your year, and we’ll see you in 2020!

You can get more details about that event here: https://www.su.edu/event/unsilent-night-3/ You can get a full list of all the events along with their details that Jennifer mentioned today on Old Town Winchester's website: http://www.enjoyotw.com/
Happy holidays to everyone! We're taking our own end-of-year breaks for the past few weeks — so we won't have a new episode for you. But we do have a bonus episode! We'll be featuring Stephanie's audio pieces that she did as part of her grad school studies at the Columbia School of Journalism, titled "Unsilent Night" and "A Night at Greenwood Cemetery." Lastly, we just wanna say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us, listened to our episodes, and shared them with friends and family throughout 2017. It’s been a huge year for us personally — having both moved to the States for different reasons — but we’re incredibly humbled and grateful to hear that our stories and interviews continue to inspire listeners across the world and move the conversation towards a more progressive and just global society. It’s been a tough year for progressive values and it’s only gonna get tougher, but as our wonderful friend Kate Walton said in our last episode, we gotta keep the momentum going and continue the good fight into 2018 and beyond. We’re excited about what the new year will bring, and we can’t wait to share those stories in the near future. We’ll see you in 2018!
