Have you ever noticed how fear diminishes when you focus on hope?
ARE YOU devoted to Jesus? Do you honor him with your actions? Are you loyal to him in your love? Do you support him with your words? Do you commit to him in your worship? Such devoted women were the first to see the resurrected Christ.
Too often we live standing by the cross, not sure if we want to commit to the Messiah. Trust in Jesus amazing love. Live in his hope.
Alone in agony on the cross, the Son of Man cries out, and he seeks an answer you and I often need to know. “Why have you abandoned me, God?
As his body the temple was rebuilt, Jesus is now empowered to rebuild you.
A murderer was released. The Son of God was crucified. Seeing life come out of "unfair".
The cross becomes the means to Jesus reigni as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
“And they crucified him.” is a necessary step in the Father’s plan to save your soul as all history moved to Jesus’ crucifixion. How do you respond?
Simon of Cyrene—an ordinary man and suddenly a servant of God—had come to Jerusalem. He finds himself in the crowd. Then he’s in the midst of the drama, suddenly confronted with a cross moment. His life changed. What happens when you confront the cross? Do ou pick it up?
Evil was rampant in Israel, Judah and the non-Jewish soldiers. The godly Jews, who desired God’s presence and who saw Jesus as their Messiah were shut down. Was there any hope for God to free his people from sin? Their Hope was on His way to the cross?
The crowd called "Crucify him!" Did they know their words would bring God's judgment onto them? How about you? Do you know what you are saying - to your family, friends, neighbors? Are they words of death or life?
Does "Whatever!" rule your decisions? Or are you ready to be responsible with whatever God gives you to do?
Jesus' silence before the authorities intent on killing him is our great example to submit to God's will in our life.
Peter told Jesus he would defend him. Instead, Peter denied he knew Jesus. How about you? Do you commit to Jesus, then admit, "I didn't really mean it?"
What happens if we are ignorant of Jesus? Do we in some ways crucify him?
Pause over what you have heard from Jesus and consider your belief in him.
Have you ever stopped talking because no one listened to you?
Is it possible God used Peter's denial of the Christ to preserve his life to become the bold gospel preacher? Perhaps God knows what he is doing.
Conflict comes. Jesus is arrested. His disciples run. Are you afraid of standing for Jesus? Consider your faith.
Judas' kiss betrayed Jesus. Is there any way you pretend affection for Jesus?
How would your life be if you prayed for and expected the Spirit's strength?
How grievous it is that God would kill his Son to save us. Sin's consequences exceed our understanding.
Scripture records Peter denying Jesus three times, but is there a fourth implicit in Peter's actions?
Jesus does not shirk from his God-ordained purpose. He embraces it because he is the Good Shepherd, prepared to lay down his life for you.
Do you know Jesus sang hymns with his disciples? Do you think he sang lead? What hymns might they have sung?
How deep the Father’s love for you that he would send his Son to commune with mankind on earth, so we would have his way to commune with him forever.
When you examine Jesus’ words here, you will understand how deeply Jesus felt the wound of betrayal in his heart. Jesus mourned sin's great cost.
As Jesus said, “I tell you the truth.” he is proclaiming his Lordship. He speaks an absolute truth. To adjust his truth or refuse his truth, you are refusing his Lordship.
We judge Judas for his betrayal of Jesus. We must, too, consider ways we might be betraying our Lord.
Long ago, a woman offered a great gift of love to Jesus. Her legacy of "Love the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul." lives to today. Will you leave such a legacy to the next generation?
Why did the authorities work "in the dark" as they plotted to kill Jesus? Is there any way you "kill" Jesus?
Are you "watching" what you look at, what you do, what you say as you watch for Jesus' return?
Jesus will come with great power and glory to establish his reign over God’s new creation. He will end all sin one day to restore his perfect creation. Your loving God has clearly described an end to life as you know it.
Jesus Christ, the Living Word of God, is your permanent shield against the Father's judgment.
Jesus knew the Father's judgment was sure. So he told his people to pray for it to come in the summer. Pray you are prepared.
Whee is God's love amidst the evils that strike against us?
As a Christian, you must know your persecution is possible. Rejoice that the Spirit of God will give you words to defend your faith in God.
The signs of Jesus' return are all around - they have been since he ascended to Heaven. Are you aware of the signs? Are you prepared for the day the sings stop and Jesus comes?
God destroyed Jerusalem's third temple because of the Jews were unfaithful. What kind of temple is in your heart?
Jesus watched the offering, so he could praise the generous giver. She was the one who contributed the least.
Jesus condemns the Pharisees. They know God's Scriptures, but their greed brings harm to many people.
Jesus affirmed that King David prophesied that Jesus, his "son" - descendant - would be his Lord. This points to the true, eternal King on "David's throne".
The religious authorities decided that they are done talking to Jesus. They are determined to kill him. Do you get that way?
Jesus broke down the Bible into two sentences. Love God. Love your neighbor. Simple, isn’t it? Or not?
The Sadducees were "experts" in the Law; yet, they said there was no resurrection. Too many “experts” today claim they know all they need to of God. Be careful of what “experts” say.
God gives to us many glimpses of Heaven. Rejoice in this: Heaven is far beyond what you know.
