Even with all the rain and lack of sun, allergies exist. Most of the allergies are to the trees, grass, and the mold (from all the moisture). While they do not have the yellow bomb that we get here in the U.S., it manifests in its own hellish way. The Scotsman and the kiddos cannot tolerate trees and grass. I erroneously thought when I moved over there that my American-borne allergies would decrease - @#$% that...nope. Something that makes the allergies worse is that many have allergy-induced asthma (mostly with the damp and cold weather). The Message of Tu B'Av: Discovering Hashem's Love Welcome to Daily Bitachon . I apologize for not sharing this class prior to Tu B'Av , but its message remains timeless regardless. Our Rabbis teach us that the month of Av is not merely called Av —it is known as Menachem Av . Some communities announce, "Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av" , Sephardim similarly refer to the month of Elul as Elul Rachamim (the month of mercy). Two Halves of One Month The Chatam Sofer offers a profound insight regarding the month of Av. He explains that Menachem Av does not describe the entire month as a single unit, but rather highlights its two distinct halves: The First Half ( Av ): Associated with hardship and judgment. The Second Half ( Menachem ): Beginning on the 15th of Av ( Tu B'Av ), a new period of comfort ( nechama ) begins. Our Sages note that the word AV ( ) can stand for A rur (cursed) and B aruch (blessed): While we typically say on Rosh Hashanah, "May the year and its curses end; may the new year and its blessings begin," in a spiritual sense, this transition actually initiates on Tu B'Av. Just as the sap takes 45 days to rise up the tree—starting on Tu B'Shevat and bursting into new buds by Rosh Chodesh Nisan —so too does the spiritual energy for the High Holidays begin rising on Tu B'Av. The Miracle in the Desert Why is Tu B'Av celebrated as a holiday? Historically, it was the day the generation of the desert stopped dying. For 39 years following the decree of the Spies ( Meraglim ), every Tisha B'Av, those reaching the age of 60 would dig their own graves, lie in them, and approximately of the population would pass away. However, in the final year: On the 9th of Av , the people entered their graves as usual. The next morning, everyone woke up alive . Suspecting they had miscalculated the Hebrew calendar, they returned to their graves each night. On the 15th of Av , seeing the full moon, they realized the calendar was correct and the decree had officially ended. How Did the Sentence End Early? According to Tosafot (and as noted by Rav Wolbe), the people had assumed the 40-year decree began after the sin of the Spies. However, Hashem, in His immense mercy, counted "time served": He included the year they had already spent in the desert prior to the Spies. He linked the sin of the Golden Calf ( Chet HaEigel ) with the sin of the Spies—connecting the beginning and end of the Three Weeks. And based on the Golden calf , that happened a year before the spies the jail sentence began a year earlier The people entered their graves expecting the final wave of death, unaware that Hashem had mercifully shortened their sentence. When they arose alive on Tu B'Av, they realized: Hashem is not out to get us; Hashem is protecting and loving us. Although the miracle occurred on the 9th of Av, it was only on the 15th of Av—when they recognized Hashem's mercy—that it became a true holiday. Misinterpreting Hashem's Love Through History A recurring theme in Jewish history is the tendency to misinterpret Hashem's actions as hostility rather than love: Event Human Misinterpretation The Inner Reality Adam & Chava Believed the serpent's claim that Hashem withheld the fruit out of jealousy. Hashem instructed them for their ultimate benefit and protection. The Spies Believed Hashem brought them to the desert out of hatred ( "Because of Hashem's hatred for us..." ). Hashem brought them out of Egypt to give them the Holy Land. Destruction of the Temple When the enemies saw the Cherubim (angels) embracing during the destruction, the Jews feared Hashem was exposing them to mockery. According to the Parshat Derachim and the Chida ( Nachal Kedumim ), the embrace was Hashem's final parting hug before a long exile. The key to ending the "curses" of the year is changing our perspective: realizing that what seemed like harsh judgment was actually an expression of Hashem's divine care. The Power of the 15th Rebbe Yerucham Levovitz explains that when we bless the new moon, we do not focus on astronomical mechanics; we focus on what the moon symbolizes—the Jewish nation waxing and waning. Major Jewish holidays occur on the 15th of the month ( Pesach, Sukkot, Tu BiShvat, Tu B'Av ) because the full moon represents the moment when the month's spiritual influence ( Mazal ) reaches its peak maturity and strength. Moving Forward to the High Holidays Starting from Tu B'Av, it is time to prepare our hearts for the High Holidays. Key Takeaway: Realize that Hashem is a loving Father who seeks our best interest. By fixing the ancient misconception that Hashem's intentions are negative, we correct our spiritual course—moving from Rosh Hashanah to Sukkot ( Zman Simchatenu ), and ultimately to Shemini Atzeret , where we stand in joyful closeness with God.

When the Babylonian captivity finally ended, the returning remnant didn't find a pristine Promised Land—they found cracked foundations, burned gates, and a pile of rubble. If your faith, your marriage, or your sense of identity currently feels like a collection of broken stones, Ezra and Nehemiah provide the ultimate masterclass on how to reconstruct what has been destroyed. Summary: In this powerful episode, we delve into the twin narratives of Ezra and Nehemiah, books that historically stood as a single text detailing the painful, beautiful work of restoration. We map this journey onto the psychological and spiritual landscape of construction, deconstruction, and reconstruction, discovering how the Lord uses common, unnamed people to do the heavy lifting of the kingdom. The Temple and the Wall: We analyze why Ezra focuses on rebuilding the temple (our spiritual center) while Nehemiah focuses on rebuilding the walls (our behavioral boundaries). You cannot safely have one without the other. The Tears of the Ancient Men: We step into the emotional complexity of Ezra 3, where the shouting of the young blends with the weeping of the old. Discover how beauty emerges from ashes when we confront our history with absolute honesty. Samaritan Sabotage: We break down the subtle tactics of Sanballat and Tobiah—the "counselors" hired to frustrate the work through a war of words rather than an open military conflict. Learn how to navigate modern historical half-truths and secular critiques. The Trowel and the Spear: We dissect Nehemiah's defensive strategy, where workers built with one hand while holding a weapon in the other. We explore our modern duty to build up testimonies while defending the kingdom from relentless intimidation. Saying "Oh No" to Ono: We confront the modern trap of diversion. Nehemiah was targeted with invitations to negotiate in the plain of Ono, but his response stands as a timeless shield against worldly distractions: "I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down." The Historical Prayer: We unpack the breathtaking Levitical prayer in Nehemiah 9, tracing how God consistently answers Israel's structural rebellion with manifold mercies, reminding us that He never closes shop on a repentant soul. Call-to-Action: Nehemiah refused to flee into the temple to save his own skin, recognizing that true covenant leadership requires us to stand our ground with a clear conscience and trust the Master. When the modern adversaries of faith tell you that you are trying to "revive stones out of a heap of rubbish," how do you keep your mind focused on the work? Let's build a meaningful dialogue in the comments below. To keep your gospel foundation structurally sound and "Unshaken," please like, subscribe, and share this video! As the Gaza war stretches into its third year, journalism professor and MSNBC analyst Peter Beinart claims that, as a Jew, he must reckon with the intense moral and theological tensions that not only he holds, but what he sees as challenges for Judaism as a whole. Because of these tensions, Beinart believes the Jewish community must build a new answer to the question: What does it mean to be a Jew? From his book, Being Jewish After the Destruction of Gaza: A Reckoning, MSNBC analyst Peter Beinart imagines a world where Israeli Jews have the right to equality, not supremacy, and in which Jewish and Palestinian safety are not mutually exclusive but intertwined. In Beinart's view, one story dominates Jewish communal life: that of persecution and victimhood. It is a story that erases much of the nuance of Jewish religious tradition and warps our understanding of Israel and Palestine. Beinart claims that, as a Jew, he must reckon with the intense moral and theological tensions that not only he holds, but what he sees as challenges for Judaism as a whole. Because of these tensions, Beinart believes the Jewish community must tell a new story and build a new answer to the question: What does it mean to be a Jew? From his book, Being Jewish After the Destruction of Gaza, Beinart offers a path toward resolution. A frequent contributor to The New York Times and an MSNBC analyst, Peter Beinart is a professor of journalism and political science at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY. He is also the editor at large of Jewish Currents and writes The Beinart Notebook, a weekly newsletter. He lives with his family in New York City. Professor Smadar Ben-Natan is a professor of human rights at the School of Global Studies and Languages, University of Oregon. A legal scholar of human rights, criminal justice, and armed conflict, she is an expert on Israel/Palestine. She is working on two books: Citizen-Enemies: Military Courts and the Construction of Citizenship in Israel/Palestine; and The Carceral State in Conflict: Between Reconciliation and Radicalization. Professor Ben-Natan received her PhD in law from Tel Aviv University and a master's in international human rights law from the University of Oxford. She also served as a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley and Harvard, and as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington. Slipknot was the most extreme thing to come out of Iowa since taco pizza was invented there in 1974. Their sound was massive: nine masked members played with brutal force, propelling their fans, affectionally known as "maggots," to a cathartic release of destructive energy at every show. But when two teenage fans claimed that the band's songs inspired them to commit murder, the destructive energy Slipknot had so far controlled began to tear the band apart. One of the greatest questions of life is this: How do we respond to destruction?Every one of us will face setbacks, losses, disappointments—even, G-d forbid, profound tragedy. The question is not whether pain will enter our lives, but what happens after it does. How do we face trauma? Experiences that overwhelm us, shake us to our core, and leave us wondering if we will ever be the same again. Some people are broken by such experiences. Others survive, but carry invisible scars for years. And then there are those remarkable souls who emerge stronger, deeper, and more compassionate than before. What is their secret?Humanity has invested unimaginable resources trying to answer that question—through medicine, therapy, psychology, self-help, and every imaginable means of easing the pain, quieting the anxiety, and healing the wounds of the human spirit. But is there a deeper answer?Let's explore this question not through isolated experiences or quick fixes, but by looking at the larger story of humanity. Let's examine what has truly endured. What has enabled individuals—and entire civilizations—not merely to survive destruction, but to transform it into growth and renewal. There is perhaps no greater case study than the Jewish people. As we approach Tisha B'Av, the saddest day of the Jewish calendar, we remember the destruction of our Holy Temples and centuries of exile, persecution, and loss. The Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, and countless others sought to erase us from history. They are gone.We are still here. How?What gave a small, vulnerable people the resilience not only to survive but to continue creating, building, and bringing hope to the world? The answer lies in the profound message of Tisha B'Av itself. The day that commemorates destruction also contains the seed of redemption. The day our hearts were shattered also reveals how brokenness can become the birthplace of our greatest strength. Please join Rabbi Simon Jacobson as we uncover one of life's most essential secrets: How do we transform destruction into redemption?

Bonus Episode #72 of BGMania: A Video Game Music Podcast. Today on the show, Bryan reviews Denshattack!, the off-the-rails arcade platformer from Barcelona studio Undercoders and publisher Fireshine Games, out now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Set in a near-future Japan flattened by climate disaster, the game follows Emi, a ramen delivery driver who trades her quiet route for the underground world of train tricking and ends up leading a rebellion against the Miraido corporation, one gravity-defying kickflip at a time. This Musical Review digs into the combo-chaining trick system and medal-based progression, the sixty-plus stages that wind from the sun-washed tracks of Kyushu to the snowfields of Hokkaido, the wild boss encounters and set pieces that refuse to play it safe, and the cel-shaded pop-art presentation that gives the whole thing an identity you could spot from across a room. The episode also hands a full segment to the game's staggering all-star soundtrack, led by Tee Lopes alongside a lineup of more than twenty composers and vocalists including Sean Bialo, Andrew One, Richard Jacques, Ryo Nagamatsu, Shoji Meguro, Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, Harumi Fujita, Lotus Juice, Ironmouse, and many more, and how its blend of funk, synthwave, and vocal anthems drives every moment forward without ever losing its cohesive spirit. Skin bleaching promoted by prominent artists sent an anti-Black message that damaged the culture and caused diaspora members to distance themselves from Jamaican heritage. Israel began strong under Solomon, but his divided heart led him away from God, and the kingdom eventually split and spiraled into idolatry. In Solomon (the wisest king ever!), we see that no one is immune to spiritual decline; even he, with such great wisdom and blessing, turned from the Lord. We see how leaders carry extra responsibility for those God entrusts into their care; Rehoboam and Jeroboam led the people deeper into sin. And we see what a slippery slope sin is. Israel's kings rapidly went from bad to worse, especially under Ahab.Yet even Ahab's story shows that God responds to repentance with mercy, leaving us looking forward to the only perfect King, Jesus, whose kingdom will never fall!

Which generation will be alive when Christ returns? In this episode, Pastor Brian Gunter continues his study of the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24:32–35, examining Jesus' teaching about the fig tree, "all these things," and the meaning of "this generation." From a Historic Premillennial perspective, Brian argues that while the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70 provides important background, Jesus ultimately points forward to the future generation that will witness the events immediately preceding His visible Second Coming. Believe His Prophets

Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it.2 Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.3 He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.4 The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men.5 As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.6 The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.7 There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen:8 The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.9 He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.10 He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.11 He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.12 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.14 The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.15 It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.16 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.17 The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.18 No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.19 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.20 Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.22 Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:27 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

How do you overcome lust, temptation, and the sins that keep trying to destroy you? In this episode of The Impossible Life Podcast, Nick Surface and Garrett Unclebach answer a listener's question about lust, but they go deeper than one behavior. For Christian men, the fight is not just about stopping one bad habit. It is about developing the heart, mindset, discipline, faith, and self-control to become the kind of man who can recognize sin early and kill it before it grows.Garrett explains that complacency is one of the most dangerous phrases in a man's life: “It's not a big deal.” No one wakes up and decides to destroy his marriage, character, business, purpose, or faith in a single day. Destruction usually begins with small compromises that do not bring immediate consequences, which trains a man to believe he can get away with it. Nick and Garrett unpack how lust works through desire, how temptation pulls men off the path one step at a time, and why the love of the Father, fear of the Lord, and the power of Jesus are essential for real transformation. This episode is a call for men to stop treating sin casually and start fighting it with spiritual urgency. Whether the temptation is lust, porn, money, status, pride, comfort, or control, the principle is the same: what you feed grows. The way forward is repentance, quick recovery, discipline, prayer, and asking God to transform your desires. For men who want to live with purpose, grow in biblical masculinity, strengthen their faith, and follow Jesus fully, this conversation is a tactical reminder that small victories matter because small sins can become the very things that kill your future.Get With NuWave Home Lenders By Clicking HereGet a Free 7 Day Trial On The Tailored Training App By Clicking HereJoin a group of likeminded Impossible Life listeners in our FREE Skool community by clicking here.Get the Purpose Playbook by clicking hereGet the FREE Basic Discipline Training 30 Day Program by clicking hereJoin us in Mindset Mastery by clicking hereLevel up your nutrition with IDLife by clicking hereGET IN TOUCHSocial Media - @theimpossiblelifeEmail - info@theimpossible.life

This evening at sundown marks the onset of Tisha B'Av, a 25-hour period in the Jewish calendar which is the saddest of the year. We commemorate and remember the destruction of the First and Second Temples, among the most important events in Jewish history. These disasters led to the dispersal of the Jewish people for thousands of years. They never abandoned their dream of returning to their ancient homeland, but throughout the centuries of exile they were persecuted ruthlessly and relentlessly. In Spain. England. Throughout Europe. In the middle east. And today, we are clearly in the early stages of yet another era of extreme tumult. For Jews.In this episode I speak with Dr. Yiftach Shalev of the Israel Antiquities Authority. Just a few weeks ago, Dr. Shalev and his team discovered charred wooden beams used in the construction of a grand home adjacent to the First Temple, which was destroyed by the Babylonians. The parallels regarding what transpired during this time and on October 7 are eerie. And we are only able to understand the commonalities because of strides in scientific and forensic analysis. Think about it. For a wooden beam charred more than 2,000 years ago to be preserved so that it can be analyzed is extraordinary. What kind of wood was used? Where did it come from? Why did it not decay? Dr. Shalev analyses the detail to preserve and present the big picture. The attackers had a plan. They ignited concentrated fires that incinerated the Temple and adjacent buildings, with temperatures reaching 700 degrees Celsius. Just as Hamas did on October 7. They had a similar plan, going house to house, torching the living and murdered.Everything about this story is fascinating; the scientific advances that make this forensic archaeological work possible. And how much it enhances our understanding of the present, in the context of the past. This is more than archaeology. It is history, war, conquest, and political reality tumbled together. If nothing else listen to the introduction and watch the two minute video. You'll be hooked by then. Trust me. I have never been one to show great interest in “archaeological” stories. This changed everything.Podcast NotesDr. Yiftah Shalev is a leading field archaeologist and the Scientific Advisor for the Jerusalem District of the Israel Antiquities Authority. Over the course of his career, he has directed and participated in major excavations throughout Israel. He spent fifteen years excavating at Tel Dor, one of the most important archaeological sites on Israel's Mediterranean coast, before turning his primary research focus to Jerusalem.Since 2017, Shalev has co-led the Givati Parking Lot excavations in ancient Jerusalem. The excavations he directs have reshaped our understanding of the city's development from the Iron Age through the Persian and Hellenistic periods. Among the remarkable discoveries he has helped bring to light are a monumental rock-cut moat that once divided ancient Jerusalem, an elite public building destroyed during the Babylonian conquest of 586 BCE, the first decorated ivory panels discovered in Jerusalem, and vessels that once contained wine flavored with vanilla. He is also advancing a pioneering interdisciplinary project that uses cosmic-ray muons to investigate underground spaces and structures without excavation.Following the October 7, 2023 attacks, Shalev was called upon to take part in the emergency effort in the communities near the Gaza border, where he used archaeological methods as part of the search for missing persons.Shalev is a teaching fellow at Tel Aviv University and Jerusalem University College. He has published extensively on the archaeology of Jerusalem, ancient economy, and Mediterranean trade networks. His interdisciplinary research has appeared in leading journals, including PNAS, Scientific Reports, PLOS ONE, the Journal of Applied Physics, the Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports, Tel Aviv, and the Israel Exploration Journal. In this episode of PeaceCast, NJN's Maxxe Albert-Deitch sits down with Ariel Beery, a mission-driven entrepreneur and civil society activist who has spent three decades building institutions at the intersection of Israel, the Jewish world, and global development. He is the editor and publisher of Prophecy: A Journal for Tomorrow, and a frequent contributor to the Times of Israel. Earlier this year, he published his book, Being Israeli After the Destruction of Gaza. After the destruction of Gaza, Ariel kept encountering the same argument: that what Israel had done proved the Zionist project was finished. He didn't believe it, and had trouble explaining why because his objection was instinctual, emotional, reflexive. So he did what he does when he can't yet explain how he feels: he spoke with others. Being Israeli After the Destruction of Gaza is the record of those conversations. Over three months in early 2026, he sat with Israelis he trusted — peacebuilders, journalists, academics, and civil society leaders who had spent the year before October 7th opposing the Netanyahu government and didn't stop protesting after. He asked each of them the same question: How does it feel to be Israeli after the destruction of Gaza? On this week's episode of the Mongabay Newscast, I speak with travel writer Noo Saro-Wiwa. She has documented the violence and natural destruction that the presence of oil companies have brought to the people of the Niger Delta in her latest book, The Burning Ground: Oil and Militancy in Nigeria. Saro-Wiwa is also the daughter of the late activist Ken Saro-Wiwa, who was executed by the Nigerian government in 1995. Her father led a peaceful resistance against the oil companies' presence in the Niger Delta by mobilizing 300,000 people from Ogoniland in 1993. It is fair to say his activism started the movement against the destruction and exploitation led by oil companies in the nation. While peaceful at first, Noo Saro-Wiwa says many people gave up hope on peaceful resistance when the government failed to hold the companies accountable, and men turned to forming violent militant groups.  "Oil has been literally the worst thing that's happened to the Niger Delta. If I could go back in time and I had the power, I would never have allowed oil to have been discovered," she says. While her latest book chronicles the harm of oil and the resulting violence, I put it to her that it's also a story about how the absence of women's rights is destroying societies. Saro-Wiwa explains how Nigeria isn't unique in this regard, but rather a stark example of how this dynamic plays out. " Going around the Niger Delta and talking to activists like Emem Okon … I could see very clearly how women's rights directly affects the environment … and society, and how the absence of those rights feeds into this militancy which ultimately hurts men." Did Daniel's famous 70th Week prophecy already find its fulfillment, or is there still a future seven-year tribulation to come? In this episode, we examine Daniel 9:24–27, one of the most debated passages in all of biblical prophecy. Rather than placing a 2,000-year gap between the 69th and 70th weeks, this study explores how Daniel's prophecy points to the coming of the Messiah, His atoning work, the end of the old covenant temple system, and the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70.By examining the context of Daniel 9 alongside Matthew 24, Luke 21, and the broader biblical storyline, we ask whether the 70th Week has already been fulfilled—and why this question has shaped Christian eschatology for generations.Watch all of our videos and subscribe to our channel for the latest content >HereHere

When the northern ten tribes vanished into Assyria and the walls of Jerusalem were leveled to dust by Babylon, it wasn't a failure of God's power—it was the tragic consequence of an unfaithful people. If you feel like the cultural walls are breaking down around you today, this study of the Scattering of Israel reveals exactly how to find your spiritual anchor. Summary: In this sobering deep dive into 2 Kings 14–25, we look at the historical collapse of both Israel and Judah, tracing the long line of kings who ignored the warnings of the prophets until there was no remedy left. By analyzing these final chapters of the history of the divided kingdoms, we discover the tragic steps of apostasy and the beautiful moments of temporary restoration under righteous leaders. The Thistle and the Cedar: We analyze the pride of King Amaziah and how minor victories can trick us into overestimating our own strength, leading to devastating vulnerability. The Destruction of Nehushtan: We study King Hezekiah's bold iconoclasm, where he smashed the very bronze serpent Moses made because the people had turned a signpost into an idol. Learn to never confuse the means with the end. Psychological Warfare at the Wall: We break down Rab-shakeh's terrifying speech outside Jerusalem and why the best response to the modern world's mocking is often to "hold your peace" and let God fight your battles. Wiping the Dish: We confront the terrifyingly visual imagery of God wiping Jerusalem like a dish and turning it upside down, seeing how structural neglect leads to spiritual collapse. Finding the Book of the Law: We follow the 8-year-old King Josiah as he repairs the temple breaches, discovers lost scripture, and humbles himself before Huldah the prophetess to launch a total national restoration. The Babylonian Captivity: We witness the final fall of Zedekiah, the breaking of Solomon's pillars, and the carrying away of the temple vessels—realizing that even when we are scattered, the covenant is never completely forgotten. Call-to-Action: Hezekiah smashed a sacred relic because it started getting in the way of true worship. What is the "Nehushtan" or distraction in your life that you need to break to clear your view of the Savior? Let's build a meaningful dialogue in the comments.

He also points out the importance of God's anger with the Assyrians destroying Israel, even though he will bring the greatest blessings out of the worst circumstances. Most of us use GPS—the Global Positioning System—on a daily basis: to find our location when we're driving, running, shopping, dating, and so much more. But GPS is even more important, and more vulnerable, than you think. In the last few years, GPS interference has been reported all over the world, from war zones to shipping routes to public squares. What was once the fanciful plot of a Bond movie—bad guy manipulates GPS to start World War III—is increasingly plausible. How did the world come to rely so heavily on such an unreliable system? In this episode of Decoder Ring, host Willa Paskin talks to journalist Katherine Dunn, author of the new book Little Blue Dot: How GPS Shaped the Modern World. You'll learn how GPS works, why it was created, how it became so ubiquitous, and why it's now under attack. You'll also hear from Dr. Todd Humphreys, an aerospace engineer who manipulated GPS to trick an $85 million superyacht into following his direction—for science, of course. This episode was written and produced by Max Freedman.
