In this episode of Occupied Thoughts, FMEP Fellow Peter Beinart speaks with researcher Ben Lorber about the "bad-faith disinfo[rmation] attacks" against Hasan Piker and others, which cast critiques of Israel as antisemitism. Peter and Ben look at the competition between the Left and the Right to explain Israel's behavior and define anti-Israel politics, with the Left offering a structural critique of Israel, naming imperialism and ethnonationalism, versus the Right's focus on what they identify as essentialist faults with Jewish character and identity. Ben and Peter also discuss how bad-faith accusations of antisemitism make it difficult to hold productive conversations about antisemitism, Israeli policy, and other political issues, how to think about "calling someone out" vs. "calling them in" over political disagreements; and how to think about political strategies for both short-term and long-term goals. Ben Lorber is a writer, researcher and movement strategist. He works as Senior Research Analyst at Political Research Associates, a think tank that works to understand and counter authoritarian movements, where he focuses on antisemitism and white Christian nationalism. He is co-author of Safety Through Solidarity: A Radical Guide to Fighting Antisemitism (Melville House, 2024). Peter Beinart is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Foundation for Middle East Peace. He is also a Professor of Journalism and Political Science at the City University of New York, a Contributing opinion writer at the New York Times, an Editor-at-Large at Jewish Currents, and an MSNOW Political Commentator. His newest book (published 2025) is Being Jewish After the Destruction of Gaza: A Reckoning. He publishes regularly on https://peterbeinart.substack.com/. Original music by Jalal Yaquob
In this episode, Michael J. Biggerstaff, assistant professor of ancient scripture, invites listeners to see Proverbs as far more than a collection of memorable sayings. He explains how Proverbs serves as a practical guide to navigating life's hardest decisions, combining faith, reason, observation, and experience to help us develop true wisdom, or "skill in living." He explores how Proverbs teaches us to think deeply, embrace complexity, and exercise agency wisely as we choose between the paths of wisdom and folly. Along the way, he discusses the book's ancient roots, the meaning of the "fear of the Lord," the symbolism of Lady Wisdom, and the role of repentance as a continual course correction back toward God. Professor Biggerstaff shows that Proverbs is not about finding simple answers but about becoming the kind of disciple who can recognize truth, make better choices, and grow through both successes and mistakes. Ultimately, Proverbs teaches that choosing wisdom is choosing Jesus Christ. Fr. Eric Nicolai preached this meditation at Ellerton Centre in Toronto on the 22nd Sunday of Ordinary Time, August 30, 2026.Jeremiah is in utter anguish. He feels that he has failed. He's in doubt. Maybe he has no vocation after all. He's in an inner crisis. Despite all the suffering he has experienced, he manages to complain to God and abandon himself to his healing.Jeremiah 20, 7-9: Seduxisti me, Domine, et seductus sum.You enticed me Lord, you persuaded me; you duped me, I felt duped. You overcame my resistance to your call, your all-encompassing vocation, your mission you have imposed on me. You chose me because you picked me out, you saw me like a wounded stag, and you loved me.Music: Lifting Dreams - Aakash Gandhi Youtube freeThumbnail: Rembrandt, Jeremiah Lamenting the Destruction of Jerusalem, 1630, Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.

Are modern earthquakes, wars, and global chaos signs that Jesus is about to return? In this episode of Richard Reacts, Richard Henry responds to popular end-times claims surrounding Matthew 24 and the tendency to interpret every earthquake, war, or disaster as evidence that the end is near.Richard examines Jesus' words about wars, rumors of wars, famines, earthquakes, persecution, and the “end of the age” in their original context. Were these warnings primarily about events thousands of years in the future—or about the judgment coming upon Jerusalem and the destruction of the temple in A.D. 70?Instead of reading today's headlines back into biblical prophecy, Richard challenges Christians to read Matthew 24 in context, abandon sensational “newspaper exegesis,” and recover a more confident view of Christ's kingdom and its advance throughout history. What do you think? Are modern earthquakes signs of the end—or have Christians been reading Matthew 24 incorrectly? Let us know in the comments.Reference video: • Why Are So Many EARTHQUAKES Happening Arou... We discuss with help from the #theproof the decline began mid-2000s when dancehall mirrored US rap: materialism, Black-on-black violence, drug use, and hypersexuality. Skin bleaching promoted by prominent artists sent an anti-Black message that damaged the culture and caused diaspora members to distance themselves from Jamaican heritage. "Daggering" and explicit dance videos went viral globally, shaping how non-Black audiences perceive Black culture.Full episode on https://www.patreon.com/cw/TheexpresstruthshowLet me know your thoughts in the comments section down below...SPONSORED BY https://www.instagram.com/supremeoftheuk/?hl=enORDER https://www.thehatman.com/product-category/clothing/supreme-of-the-uk/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAacevzCe-rFKZU3iPH0qYqxU7f__v0yznTpLkO6k9u-gHIxI4oQ9JfyhlttATQ_aem_NJT_3YtGSSu7wm6TraEYJghttps://www.instagram.com/cfr_news/https://rumble.com/user/CFRNetworkhttps://x.com/CFRNetwork_https://twitter.com/CFRNetwork__
In this episode, we explore one of the most exciting emerging frontiers in cancer treatment: Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) ablation—a non-thermal technology that uses short bursts of high-voltage energy to disrupt cancer cells while preserving surrounding healthy tissue. Unlike traditional ablation methods that rely on heat or freezing, PEF works by creating microscopic pores in cancer cell membranes, leading to cell death without damaging critical structures like blood vessels, airways, or connective tissue. This unique mechanism opens the door to treating tumors that were previously considered too risky—or impossible—to ablate. Our discussion focuses on how PEF ablation is being delivered through robotic bronchoscopy, allowing physicians to reach lung tumors with unprecedented precision. This approach is especially relevant for patients with advanced or oligometastatic cancer, where local control may play a critical role in improving quality of life—and potentially survival. Emerging clinical evidence suggests that PEF may do more than just destroy tumors locally. Early data indicate it may also stimulate the immune system, creating a systemic anti-cancer response that could complement immunotherapy and other systemic treatments. This has raised important questions about whether local therapies like PEF could help shift outcomes even in advanced-stage disease. We also discuss the ongoing AFFINITY Trial, a pivotal clinical study evaluating the safety and effectiveness of pulsed electric field ablation in lung tumors. This trial represents a major step toward understanding how this technology may fit into the future standard of care. Learn more about the AFFINITY Trial: https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6694/17/21/3495 Learn more about the Propensity Matched Trial from Bill Moore at NYU in patients with Stage IV Recalcitrant Lung Cancer: https://www.lungcancerjournal.info/action/showPdf?pii=S0169-5002%2825%2900467-2 Whether you are a patient, caregiver, or clinician, this episode offers a clear and hopeful look at how energy-based, precision medicine is reshaping what's possible in cancer care—moving beyond palliation toward real opportunity. Key Topics Covered: What pulsed electric field ablation is—and how it works How robotic bronchoscopy enables precise delivery in the lung Why non-thermal ablation matters for safety and outcomes The potential immune and survival implications of PEF Ongoing research and the AFFINITY clinical trial 760-834-3564Transforming your health is more fun with friends! Silicon Bites Ep386 | 2026-08-19 | Russia cannot take Ukraine, cannot drive it to defeat. It cannot even achieve the minimal targets set by the Kremlin for a declaration of partial victory – occupation of all the Donbas. So, it is burning Ukraine's books — ten million of them since May 2026 and counting. This is not collateral damage. It is the oldest imperial policy Moscow has, if you cannot conquer, coerce and appropriate, then you erase. This time the cultural erasure is being delivered by ballistic projectiles. Millions of dollars of destructive hardware trained on the erasure of the written word. Burning books, language, identities. The Nazis burned books. Russia does the same. It claims to be fighting fascism but has itself become the instrument and character of fascism in the 21st century. A state built on aggression, illegality, hatred and erasure. ----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.gofundme.com/f/scaling-up-campaign-to-fight-authoritarian-disinformation----------TRUSTED CHARITIES ON THE GROUND:Save Ukrainehttps://www.saveukraineua.org/Superhumans - Hospital for war traumashttps://superhumans.com/en/UNBROKEN - Treatment. Drawing from local archives alongside national and international records, War and Governance in Scotland, 1543-1559: Destruction, Reconstruction and Reform (Edinburgh UP, 2026) by Dr. Amy Blakeway argues that warfare was the defining feature of government and politics in Scotland for the two decades following the death of James V. It demonstrates that beyond the direct effects of invasion, the need to raise unprecedented taxation, as well as warfare's secondary consequences, such as plague and price inflation, disrupted communities throughout Scotland, engendering enhanced social control. These effects endured for many years after the peace of 1550: new laws were passed to manage those who had collaborated with the invaders and taxation remained high. The post-war decade was one of reconstruction, and it was this which drove religious reformation in 1559-60. The book shows that appreciating the scale of the crown's ambition places the Scottish state's development closer to that of its European counterparts. Presented by Lauren Stibgen Are you doing what God hates at work? Let's keep in mind that the book of Proverbs is not only instructing us what to do but also what not to do. The following verses in Proverbs six are not actually proverbs as we previously defined but are part of the poems in the first nine chapters of Proverbs. While not “proverbs” in a defined sense, these verses can help us consider things we should not do since God hates them. They can help us with our integrity at work. There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. (Proverbs 6:16-19). Consider the weight of verse 16 that uses the words hate and abomination for how God feels about the actions listed. An abomination is a thing that causes disgust or hatred. If the goal of the book of Proverbs is to keep us closer to God with pleasing actions, this list should certainly matter to us. Salvation makes me grieve this greatly. I surely do not want God to be disgusted with my actions, or to hate what I am doing! Haughty eyes. Are you coming across as arrogant or superior in an off-putting way? In pride, are you looking down at others at work. Do you brag about a project you have done, a promotion you have achieved? Does your body language speak to others in a way that makes them feel less than? Have you ever smirked or quietly chuckled at someone else's expense? God hates this! Proverbs 16:18 tell us what happens with this pride and haughtiness: Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Destruction and a fall. But there is wisdom. Verse 19 continues: It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor than to divide the spoil with the proud. Wisdom says, “be lowly in spirit.” As our example, in Matthew 11:29 Jesus tells us he is lowly in heart. We just scratched the surface about one thing that God hates! And the list in the verses includes seven things! When we take time to look at the proverbs in chapters 10-29 of this book, we will find practical wisdom to keep us from doing these things God hates.

Episode 205 of Wrestling Tonight begins in Japan, where Ryohei Oiwa defeated Yuya Uemura in a 35-minute final to win G1 Climax 36 and cap off a tournament that increasingly felt like NJPW finally committing to its new generation. We break down Oiwa's path from qualifying for the tournament to becoming G1 champion, the significance of a final four featuring Oiwa, Uemura, Yota Tsuji and Callum Newman, and Oiwa's decision to follow TMDK mentor Zack Sabre Jr. by taking his IWGP Heavyweight Championship opportunity at King of Pro Wrestling in October rather than waiting for Wrestle Kingdom. Before then, Yota Tsuji must defend against Hirooki Goto at Destruction in Kobe, while Jeff Cobb is suddenly back in NJPW and aligned with Gedo's Unbound Corp after confronting former United Empire stablemate Callum Newman. The G1 weekend also produced one of the strangest moments of the year when an AI recreation of the late Antonio Inoki appeared at Ryogoku, addressed Hiroshi Tanahashi and led the crowd through the traditional "1, 2, 3, dah!" We discuss the uncomfortable contrast of NJPW spending the weekend successfully pushing Oiwa, Uemura, Tsuji and Newman as its future while simultaneously using artificial intelligence to recreate its deceased founder, as well as MJF's social media exchange with Oiwa over their respective headlocks and Oiwa inviting him to enter the 2027 G1. We then head to GCW Homecoming, where former WWE wrestler Joe Gacy, now Joseph Sawyer, ended Atticus Cogar's 266-day reign to become GCW World Champion with assistance from the returning Drake Younger. Drake's appearance immediately generated controversy because of the statements and affiliations that surrounded the end of his WWE tenure, leading to a public apology the following night. Brett Lauderdale then explained his decision to give Drake another opportunity by revealing that Younger helped save his life during Lauderdale's battle with opiate addiction in 2012 and took him to his first Narcotics Anonymous meeting. We look at both the legitimate reasons for the backlash and the deeply personal reason Lauderdale believes Drake deserves a second chance. On the WWE side, Chelsea Green's cracked orbital bone has unexpectedly created one of SmackDown's more interconnected women's stories. Nick Aldis gave Green 30 days to be medically cleared rather than immediately stripping her of the WWE Women's Championship, while Mickie James praised Green's emotional promo as one of the greatest she has seen. Nia Jax and Lash Legend have already targeted the injured champion, Tiffany Stratton came to Green's defense and that decision later contributed directly to Stratton losing the Women's United States Championship to Jacy Jayne and Fatal Influence. We also look at the growing possibility of LA Knight challenging Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank in New Orleans, with AJ Styles publicly arguing that Knight has never been more ready to become world champion. Roman's September title defense is also being built through WWE-owned AAA, where La Parka has advanced to face Penta while Rey Fenix defeated El Fiscal on Raw to reach the semifinals of the tournament determining Roman's challenger in Mexico City. That integration is interesting, but it also highlights the continuing disconnect in AAA's presentation when Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio can regularly lose on WWE television while AAA is simultaneously being used to produce challengers for WWE's world champion. Plus, AEW has reached the quarterfinals of the Continental Challenge Cup with Nigel McGuinness fighting through an injury to face Hechicero, Jon Moxley meeting Jay White, Orange Cassidy facing Kyle O'Reilly and Claudio Castagnoli renewing his rivalry with Eddie Kingston as the tournament moves toward Glasgow and the All In final at Wembley. We also discuss Grayson Waller taking aim at CM Punk and the NXT locker room, and TNA bringing Lockdown back for the first time since 2016 while attaching the bizarre stipulation that Leon Slater's entire 298-day X-Division Championship reign will be erased from company history if he loses to Cedric Alexander.
Why does the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70 matter for how Christians understand the Great Tribulation? In this episode of The Based Boomer Podcast, Mike D'Virgilio examines the fall of Jerusalem, the destruction of the temple, and the horrific Roman siege that brought an end to the Old Covenant age.Drawing from Scripture and historical accounts, Mike explores the events surrounding A.D. 70 and their connection to Jesus' warnings in Matthew 24.Was the Great Tribulation a worldwide event still waiting in our future—or was Jesus describing the catastrophic judgment that would fall upon Jerusalem within that generation?Mike makes the case that understanding A.D. 70 changes the way we read biblical prophecy, the Olivet Discourse, and the advance of Christ's kingdom in history.Watch all of our videos and subscribe to our channel for the latest content >HereHere
