Behind The Horns

We finish up the regular season with a discussion with two of the assistant captains #11 Carter Hobbs and #12 Michael Clough.  Dive into the last month of OX hockey and look forward to the first round of Playoffs against the Dells Ducks.   We also find out more about Hobbs and Cloughs playing career and future goals after the year is over!!!!

On episode 12 of Behind The Horns, we have a special two part interview. We discuss the big series win against the Wisconsin Rapids River Kings, sending the Minnesota Blue Ox to the National Tournament in Boston. Wellsy discusses the series with three Ox players; Oliver De Croock, Alex Timm, and Nick Spolec. The guys go over the adversity they faced early on in the series and how they bounced back to win the series. The series win sends the Ox to their first National Tournament ever as an organization. Later we have on Head Coach, Jay Witta. He goes over the first round of the tournament which involves pool play and expands more on the upcoming games in Boston. Jay acknowledged his satisfaction on how well his team has played down the stretch and the tremendous season they have had so far. While he emphasizes that the goal is to win the National Title. The Blue Ox head out Friday March 8 for the opportunity to “WIN IT ALL!!!” #THINTHEHERD #WEWIN

On today’s episode we have on returning guest’s Eric Worre, Phil Schader, and Eric Swenson. The boys sit down with Wellsy to discuss the end of the season. The boys go over their upcoming playoff series against the fifth seeded Rum River Mallards. The Blue Ox will be the fourth seed and will have home ice advantage in the first round. The guys discuss the upcoming week of practice and how they have been preparing for this series. Lastly, Wellsy wraps up the show by mentioning the details of the upcoming playoff series. On episode 10 of Behind The Horns we have the honor of welcoming on Head Coach of the Minnesota Wild and majority owner of the Blue Ox, Bruce Boudreau. Wellsy takes a few minutes out of Bruce’s day to allow him to come on the show and go over a little bit about the team while answering some questions along the way. Then we look ahead to the Chicago showcase as the team gets ready to depart for their trip. Also, we look ahead to the new year as 2019 is approaching. The Blue Ox right now are 13-9-1 up to this point. The team looks to end 2018 on a high note.

Episode 9 of Behind The Horns features assistant coach Jason Wood and goalie Josh Greune. Wellsy and the guys discuss the season thus far as it is just approaching the midway point. They go over the last 12 games the Blue Ox have had where they have gone 10-2 in that span. They also recap the Boston showcase while looking ahead to their next Chicago Showcase trip coming up in a few weeks. Lastly, Jason and Josh go over what to look forward to this weekend as the Blue Ox face the Rum River Mallards. Come support the Blue Ox with the Teddy Bear Toss this Friday night Dec 7.

On the sixth episode of Behind The Horns, Wellsy delivers a Halloween special. Which includes interviews with four of the Blue Ox players. Imports Chris Bruhn, Oliver De Croock, Geoffrey Jaquet, and Josef (Pepa) Nutil. The five of them discuss the weekend sweep over the Steel County Blades and also preview the Midwest Showcase this upcoming weekend. Then, Meghann Norrbom joins the show as her and Wellsy have some fun with some segments. Which include Netflix Nights and also The Deans List, where they go over the top Halloween movies.

On the fifth episode of Behind The Horns we welcome on two of the Minnesota Blue Ox captains Nick Mueller and Phil Schader. We discuss the Chicago Showcase which just finished. On episode four of Behind The Horns, Wellsy interviews goaltender Brady Boudreau. The both of them discuss the upcoming road trip to Chicago as the Blue Ox will be playing in a showcase. On episode three of Behind the Horns, Wellsy interviews four of the Blue Ox players. Kyle Kester, Eric Swenson, Alex Timm, and Hunter Hansen. The boys discuss the upcoming game against the Hudson Havoc, as well as announcing that it will be Minnesota Wild Night. Where Joel Erikkson Ek, Luke Kunin, and Eric Fehr of the Wild; along with head coach Bruce Boudreau, who is also part owner of the Blue Ox, will be signing autographs before the game. The boys then finish up the show with a special Halloween segment called “Trick or Treat” along with a very controversial game of the Family Feud.

On the second episode of Behind The Horns. We have 3 Blue Ox players join the show. These players are forwards Gunnar Gibbs, Colton Ryan and Eric Worre. Wellsy discusses the big 3-1 home opener victory against the Minnesota Mullets this past weekend. They then have some fun as they discuss the day in the life of a junior A’ hockey player.
