Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project, shares a lot of ideas on generating happiness. One of my favorites is about novelty, trying something new, and the right level of challenge. Dana Wilde, author of Train Your Brain, is know for saying feel good first then take intentional action to be successful. For a long time, I've put those two things together to create a personal happiness formula, but I recently modified it to this: Novelty + Challenge = Happiness Happiness x Community + Intentional Action = Success Listen in to today's episode for more and you'll also have the opportunity to weigh in on the success of my recent 'trying something new' card project.
2 Corinthians 11:1-15 - Sermon by Aaron Markham
He's so crafty and cunning. But the devil has been conquered. Christ was victorious over our evil foe for us. We live in that victory which gives us peace and joy. This sermon based on Genesis 3:1-15 was preached on the First Sunday in Lent, February 22, 2026 for a sermon series called, "Prophecy Fulfilled."
“How rock n' roll to take our largest space and fill it with 20,000 litres of barrel-aged beer.”There's little in Australian beer like Felons Brewing. First appearing as part of the Howard Smith Wharves (now Artemus Group) development on the Brisbane River as it flows under the iconic Story Bridge, the brewery's home has steadily gobbled up more of the riverbank to the point its multiple venues can host thousands.Since late 2024, they've been steadily taking over the equally iconic Manly Wharf, most recently opening the Barrel Room live music venue (in addition to the Barrel Hall in Brisbane) and a seafood restaurant for which they've devised a way to pour their lager at sub-zero temperatures for maximum crispiness.Such grandiosity, especially in an era of frugality for many, might seem at odds with much of the indie beer industry. Yet, as our chat with head brewer Tom Champion and brand director Dean Romeo – two of the Little Creatures alumni brought into the business before it launched – shows, they're community players, in beer and elsewhere, driven by a belief that a rising tide lifts all boats. Or, in this case, indie brewers. What's more, there are few breweries in Australia with similar potential to act as a first point of contact for newcomers to craft beer. Our conversation takes in their story to date, their approach to hospitality, events and collaborations, maintaining one of the country's largest barrel programs within such a large commercial entity, their thoughts on the wider beer industry, beer tourism and more.On the eve of a trip to New South Wales to record more podcasts, catch up with beer world mates old and new, and host an event with Wildflower and Garage Project, Will and James open the show with a look at the week on Crafty: a new Crafty Crawl via Melbourne's new Metro Tunnel; an entertaining tenth anniversary Brew & A with Young Henrys' head brewer; and the launch of Allday Brewing by the mates behind Forward Hops beer importers.Start of segments: 0:00 – The Week On Crafty 14:05 – Dean & Tom Part 1 44:08 – Pint of Origin Festival 2026 Promo 45:00 – Dean & Tom Part 2To find out more about featuring on The Crafty Pint Podcast or otherwise partnering with The Crafty Pint, contact craig@craftypint.com.

Romans 7 gets real fast.
Depending upon how you look at it, time passes either slow or fast. It was nearly 50 years ago that we began learning magic in a whole new way: video. Prior to that, most magic was learned through books, magazines, lectures, or through an apprenticeship that was passed on from one magician to another. In some ways it seems that our evolution moved slowly from video tape to where we are today with digital images. In the late 1970's, Bob Yorburg, went into the studios and recorded a two volume VHS set where he taught close-up magic. It wasn't long after that before others ran through the door. I was one of those who watched that video set over and over and learned many of my early routines from Bob. He transitioned from one character to another before he found his true passion, refurbishing old magic props, carving Punch and Judy dolls, and working on band organs. View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize This week Bob Yorburg tells us about how he came to produce those first video tapes, plus his work as the first Burger King in New York. He apparently worked in many other commercials besides the hamburger giant and he has some great stories. As mentioned, his passion is now carving carousel animals, carousel band organs, Punch and Judy dolls, and is respected and awarded in that field. “We want to pay proper homage to the ten years of people that have come and made this their home.”When Wildflower co-founder and visionary Topher Boehm announced he was to close the Marrickville venue the brewers and blenders had called home for a decade, it didn't just send ripples through the beer world – the story was picked up by mainstream media too.Perhaps that's only to be expected: in terms of impact made per litre of beer sold, there can be few operations anywhere on the planet that would come close to this magical corner of the Australian beer world. That impact can be measured by the quality and sheer delightfulness of their many releases, the transformative nature of their Marrickville base, the team's advocacy for other producers and growers, as well as for better ways of producing and growing, and in the generous manner in which they would share their experiences, knowledge and learnings. As soon as we got word Wildflower was to close at the end of May – at least for now, and in its current form – there was no question we'd invite him back onto the show. So grab a glass – or bottle – of your favourite mixed-culture beer and settle in as Topher tells us what led him here, how he thinks Wildflower might evolve, and shares stories and reflections from the past decade-plus.It's our longest episode to date – which won't surprise anyone who knows our guest – but we're sure you won't be calling stumps early. Before we get to Topher, James and Will discuss the impending opening of a venue by an operation with similarities to Wildflower, the ongoing rise of non-alc beers, the arrival in the Crafty directory of Melbourne bars Rose Island and mates., plus the opening of entries for the 2026 Australian International Beer Awards, and the latest events and giveaways for our Crafty Cabal beer club members. Please like, subscribe and tell your beer-loving mates if you enjoy the show too!Start of segments: 16:18 – Topher Boehm Part 1 54:04 – The High Country Hop 2026 Preview 1 59:31 – Topher Boehm Part 2To find out more about featuring on The Crafty Pint Podcast or otherwise partnering with The Crafty Pint, contact craig@craftypint.com.

Send us a textWhat happens when the people who should comfort you bring the sharpest knives? We step into Job 15 and watch Eliphaz return with a blistering verdict, branding Job's words as “east wind” and dismissing his theology as destructive heat. The clash isn't just about doctrine; it's about how doctrine is used. Are we building up the hurting with truth, or brandishing truth to build our own standing? We walk through the assumptions that fueled Job's friends: the tidy equation of prosperity with righteousness and suffering with secret sin. That formula is seductive because it flatters our need for control. But it collapses under the weight of real life and the witness of Scripture. Job's lament is not rebellion; it is reverent faith under pressure. He clings to God's sovereignty, atonement, and wisdom while his community reads his pain as proof of guilt. Along the way we surface hard questions: Why are some bolder correcting brothers than confronting the world? How does jealousy hide beneath piety? What does compassion look like when the facts are unclear and the wounds are fresh? You'll hear a candid roundtable where we name church hurt without flinching and still call the church to better love. We unpack why misapplied orthodoxy harms, how to discern motives when counsel feels cold, and why true courage comforts first and corrects with care. And we trace the arc toward vindication: God will later affirm Job's words and require his friends to seek his intercession, a sobering reminder that the Lord weighs hearts, not optics. If you've ever been misunderstood while clinging to God, this conversation offers clarity, courage, and comfort. Listen, share it with someone who needs a gentle word today, and if it resonates, subscribe and leave a review so others can find it too.Support the showBE PROVOKED AND BE PERSUADED!
Send us a textWhat if the people meant to comfort you become your fiercest critics? We dive into Job's story to expose a pattern that still haunts modern faith communities: confusing usefulness with truth, mistaking grief for rebellion, and calling accusation “defending God.” From the raw opening reflections on human nature and piling on, to Scripture-guided corrections about the aim of instruction being love, we unpack how counsel turns cruel when it ignores the heart of the sufferer and the character of God.I walk through the conversation's pivotal insights: Job's friends judged his words by impact, not accuracy, and equated pain with punishment. We test that reflex against a richer theology of suffering where God refines the righteous and invites bold lament. We also explore why truth stands on its own, even when it comes through flawed messengers, and why grace is never the wrong response when you don't know the whole story. Throughout, we share lived experiences of relational strain and spiritual “pile-ons,” and we name the quiet courage it takes to refuse the hammer and be a healer. This episode is a call to rebuild how we correct, comfort, and carry each other. The body of Christ thrives through unity, not uniformity; empathy, not adrenaline; restoration, not rhetoric. If your theology breaks the wounded, it needs repair. Join us to rethink the “do better” instinct, learn to listen before you label, and rediscover how honest prayer deepens dependence on God. If this conversation helps you see a kinder path forward, subscribe, share with a friend who needs encouragement, and leave a review telling us how you're choosing grace this week.Support the showBE PROVOKED AND BE PERSUADED!
Send us a textWhat if heartfelt lament isn't rebellion but faith under pressure? We trace that question from the fire of Jeremiah and Isaiah to the ash heap with Job, where friends confuse honest grief with crafty speech. Along the way, we share a real story of walking back into church after tension, choosing reconciliation over avoidance, and learning that being wronged doesn't guarantee a righteous response. The thread is simple and demanding: judge speech by truth, not by tone or circumstance. We dive deep into Job 15 and the charge that “your mouth utters iniquity,” asking why people label uncomfortable truths as unloving. The challenge lands on modern ground: believers often police emotion instead of testing claims by Scripture. We also confront selective courage in public theology. If Jesus is Lord, then any system that denies him stands opposed to the gospel; consistency matters more than cultural comfort. That doesn't mean cruelty. It means clarity with humility, even-handed conviction, and a refusal to let sensitivity silence the message. From there we zoom out to the foundation: your doctrine of God directs your reading of the Bible. Start with who God is—holy, immutable, omniscient, omnipotent, sovereign—and hard passages come into focus without bending his nature. “God repented” in Genesis 6 reads as grief, not change. Claims about his will harmonize with his character across the canon. Interpretation is never neutral, so we call for a thick weave of biblical witnesses, testing ideas by the whole counsel of Scripture. The result is a steadier church life: lament without guilt, correction without pride, courage without partiality, and worship anchored in the God who never changes. If this conversation sharpened your thinking or steadied your heart, follow the show, share it with a friend who loves the Book of Job, and leave a review with your biggest takeaway. Your words help others find truth that doesn't flinch.Support the showBE PROVOKED AND BE PERSUADED!
Send us a textIf you've ever felt the tension between comfort and conviction, this conversation meets you where you live. We start with a bold claim: God's perfection never changes, and that unshakable character is the only safe place to put your trust. From there, we challenge assumptions about Christian Zionism and any theology that ties Christian hope to geography, lineage, or a rebuild of sacred places. Christ is the final temple, and He gathers one people from every nation—Jew and Gentile—built together as living stones. We wrestle honestly with history and belief, drawing a clear line between people and mindsets while calling listeners to become students of Scripture rather than passengers of cultural narratives. The message is both corrective and freeing: Abraham's promise points to a worldwide family in Christ, not a narrow destiny on a map. When faith is grounded in Jesus alone, unity expands, worship deepens, and our identity no longer depends on borders or politics. Then the lens narrows to the heart. We talk about personal revival—returning to Bible and prayer with urgency—and confront the counterfeit god of “love without truth.” Real love corrects, warns, and calls us to repentance. Jesus does not negotiate with sin; He leads us out of it. That's why grace must walk hand in hand with truth, shaping a church that can endure dark days with courage and compassion. Along the way, we share real-life care through intercessory prayer for a sister facing surgery, modeling the kind of community that stands together when answers are scarce and fear is loud.Listen for a bracing, hope-filled call to trust God's unchanging character, belong to a global body in Christ, and choose love with a backbone. If this resonates, subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review to help more people find the show—and tell us: where did truth challenge you most today?Support the showBE PROVOKED AND BE PERSUADED!
Episode OverviewIn this first Central Pennsylvania Fishing Report of 2026 on The Articulate Fly podcast, host Marvin Cash checks in with George Costa for a winter conditions update across the region's premier trout waters. George breaks down the technical nymphing and streamer tactics that are producing fish in low, clear flows as cold temperatures settle into central Pennsylvania. With snow in the forecast and a significant cold snap ahead, George covers current conditions on the Juniata River, Spring Creek, Penns Creek and Fishing Creek, explaining why the J is fishing at seasonal flows with good color while Spring, Penns and Fishing Creek remain challenging with low, clear water. The conversation reveals where trout are concentrating in deeper pools, how to adjust presentations for winter conditions and what anglers should expect over the coming weeks. George also previews upcoming winter fly tying classes at TCO shops and the Edison Fly Fishing Show, making this episode essential listening for Pennsylvania anglers planning their winter outings or looking to sharpen their skills indoors.Key TakeawaysHow to adjust nymphing presentations for low, clear winter water by keeping bugs down deep and moving them slowly through concentrated holding areas. Why the Juniata River is currently the best bet for Pennsylvania winter trout fishing with seasonal flows and good color compared to other regional waters. When to use streamers in winter conditions by fishing them low and slow rather than with aggressive retrieves. How technical winter fishing requires proper layering and thermal gear to stay comfortable during long sessions in deeper pools where fish are holding.Techniques & Gear CoveredThe primary techniques discussed are technical winter nymphing and low-slow streamer fishing tailored to challenging low-clear water conditions. George emphasizes getting nymphs down deep into the pools where trout concentrate during cold weather, maintaining slow drifts that match the fish's lethargic winter metabolism. Streamers are producing when fished deep and slow rather than stripped aggressively, with George noting his recent success moving decent fish on this approach. The conversation touches on the importance of proper winter layering—thermals, multiple sock layers and cold-weather gear—to fish effectively during extended nymphing sessions in frigid conditions.Locations & SpeciesThis report covers central Pennsylvania's top trout fisheries including the Juniata River (locally called "the J"), Spring Creek, Penns Creek and Fishing Creek. The Juniata is fishing at seasonal flows with good color, making it the standout winter destination, while Spring Creek and Fishing Creek remain low and clear, requiring more technical approaches. Winter trout are holding in deeper pools across all waters as temperatures drop and snow moves into the region. The low-clear conditions make these Pennsylvania limestone and freestone streams more challenging but rewarding for anglers who dial in proper depth and presentation.FAQ / Key Questions AnsweredWhat are current water conditions on central Pennsylvania trout streams in early January 2026?The Juniata River has seasonal flows and good color, making it the best current option. Spring Creek and Fishing Creek remain low and clear, requiring more technical presentations. A cold snap with snow is forecast, which will push...
Paul says in the last days people are going to be so evil and not care. It seems as if he is describing the world in 2025! He gives a long description of people and how empty their hearts are. Paul calls out deceitful men who prey on vulnerable women, gaining their confidence, only to take advantage of them in the end. He mentions two men by name that aren't found in scripture, Jannes and Jambres. These two men, according to the Talmud and tradition, are the two magicians that stood against Moses before pharaoh. They were able to recreate some of the plagues but not all of them and their sins were exposed in the end. You can pretend to play church and deceive many people, but your sin will find you out! And you aren't fooling God...He knows everything about you, including what is in your heart!
Paul warns Timothy of what is coming the near future: counterfeit believers. His description of these counterfeit believers sounds as if he is looking into our world today in 2025, but he isn't. He is speaking about people in his day and time that have turned against the truth and they are deceiving others, in particular, vulnerable women who give these deceiving men time and attention. Paul warns Timothy to stay away from such people...why? Because he doesn't want Timothy to be corrupted by their deception!

He called himself Mr. Crafty Pants — a cheerful, family-friendly DIY YouTuber whose tutorials reached hundreds of thousands of homes. Now, that same man, Michael David Booth, is facing felony charges in Kentucky for possession and distribution of illegal material involving minors. In this episode of Hidden Killers with Tony Brueski, we break down exactly what happened — from the first Kik CyberTip that triggered the investigation, to the digital forensics that traced the account back to Booth's suburban Louisville home. We'll examine the legal path forward: grand-jury proceedings, state vs. federal jurisdiction, and the serious penalties tied to KRS 531.335 and 531.340. We'll also ask the bigger questions: Why do audiences trust online personas so easily? How does “family-friendly” branding disarm critical thinking? And what does this mean for the influencer world that thrives on parasocial trust? Booth has pleaded not guilty and is presumed innocent until proven otherwise. But the case itself exposes a hard truth about digital culture: we've built a system that rewards image over integrity — and when that image collapses, everyone who believed in it feels the impact.

2025 1107 Friday of the 31st week of ordinary time
I'm equal parts excited to share this episode and sad that the project has come to a close, but before I get all emotional, know that the Apple Music playlist that serves as a companion to this episode can be found here. If that isn't your platform and you want me to create one for you for yours, D.M. me on Instagram or drop a comment on the YouTube post; happy to do it.It's Episode 189 then and this is my first crack at a discography-series installment all by my lonesome.I was explaining this to my son earlier in the week, and he was not only curious but felt bad for me having to do one alone. And then he was stunned when I told him how much longer it takes to record and produce an episode without a guest as well as how much shorter the final product is.Anyway...I started poking around at the J.J. Cale catalog a few months ago, and I've finally made it through all 15 albums three times. And I really can't tell you what a delight it's been. Now the challenge will be to avoid my favorites (the playlist), and really step away from his work for a little bit so that it'll be somewhat fresh and enjoyable when I feel like revisiting. There is so much to appreciate within Cale's rich collection. Crafty lyrics, stellar musicianship from all involved, groove, funk, blues, dexterity, love, lust, companionship, and so on. This exploration has made me a fan for life, and I hope that by sharing it I've piqued the interest of someone else, too.Cale's albums:Naturally (1971)Really (1972)Okie (1974)Troubadour (1976)5 (1979)Shades (1981)Grasshopper (1982)#8 (1983)Travel-Log (1989)Number 10 (1992)Closer to You (1994)Guitar Man (1996)To Tulsa and Back (2004)Roll On (2009)Stay Around (2019)Snippets of favorites from each appear chronologically in this episode; full versions on the aforementioned playlist.Talk to each other when you're out there doing human things in the world. She is Mrs. Kim McGrew-Liggett, who devoted two-plus decades of faithful service to the Audubon State Park Museum as Art Administrator. Kim has also spent over 20 years instructing students in Henderson County's Gifted and Talented Art Program. Tune in as she describes how she discovered her knack and passion for art as a child, and reflects on her former duties at the Audubon Museum (including the organization of festivals for kiddos with special needs). She also details the skills she teaches as part of the gifted program, the art expo which annually showcases students' creations, and the process of enrollment. Even if you're not stationed in Henderson County, you're most likely in close proximity to a similar program. So lend Kim your ears, and find out what it's all about! And, feel free to email her with any inquiries regarding our discussion at kim.mcgrew0930@gmail.com. Find out more at https://blabbin-in-the-bluegrassblabbi.pinecast.co

Michael Lieberman was definitely playing against type when he dreamed up this crossword, because he spends his days at his law firm fighting corporate mergers, but his nights -- apparently -- trying to encourage them. You'll see what we mean when you have a listen to today's episode, or wander over to (warning: it's spoiler city if you click that link!) the solution at xwordinfo.com.In addition to the crossword, we have identified our JAMCOTWA™️ (Jean And Mike Crossword Of The Week Award) for this week; deets inside.A small logistical side-note: we are taking a break for the next week, as one of us is traveling to such a distant time zone that we can't sync up for recording. Welcome to Season 8, Episode 4 of Business of Craft. Today we have another solocast to cover one of the topics in our new book, Marketing Magic for Savvy Craft Businesses, that my whole team wrote in 2025. The book is available for sale in Kindle and print version on our website, http://StitchcraftMarketing.com or http://Amazon.com. "Storytelling” gets thrown around a lot these days. But while that's important--- really important- branding is more than an engaging paragraph on your About page or slapping a fun tagline on your packaging.

Launch Your Box Podcast with Sarah Williams | Start, Launch, and Grow Your Subscription Box
“Don't give up. Just keep moving forward.” - Alexia Haubert After making it to the top 1% of all Etsy sellers in the wedding category - the top 1%! - Lexie was on top of her game. Then came a global pandemic that shut down the wedding industry and Lexie's business. Lexie had to pivot and struggled to grow her business for a long time before recently reaching a big milestone. In this episode, Lexie's story will inspire you to keep going as you work toward your business goals. When the wedding industry slowly started coming back, Lexie introduced The Monogrammed Bride subscription box and started building her audience from scratch. She stayed consistent and continued to show up even though she saw very little in the way of results for a long time. When Lexie and I first talked, after a disappointing launch, I was surprised to see she had done everything I teach. She was doing all the things and she was doing them well. But she wasn't seeing results. We brainstormed and strategized, and Lexie continued working hard. And just recently - after seeing consistently steady growth for the last six months - Lexie hit her long-standing goal of 100 subscribers! So what did she do differently these past six months? She built a community - giving her subscribers something to feel they were a part of. She posted stories on Instagram - consistently. She created engaging posts featuring pictures of subscribers and their boxes. She started going LIVE much more consistently and, when she did, started building an audience who showed up for her and engaged with her during the LIVEs. She followed her subscribers back and engaged with their posts. She did tons of short video, finding cracks of time while sitting in her car waiting to pick her kids up from practices. She sent boxes to a small number of influencers from TikTok and Instagram - people with 1000-2000 followers who want to grow as influencers. She ran Facebook Ads - and has gotten really dialed in which drives the cost per engagement way down. Lexie analyzes her Ads every week and makes changes as needed. While we were talking, Lexie got subscriber #112! This growth in her business - this regular, recurring revenue - has lessened the financial stress Lexie has felt for the past couple of years. She is able to breathe and plan for even more subscribers as her business continues to grow. Lexie's message for anyone who feels overwhelmed or discouraged by the challenges they're facing in building their business? Don't give up. Just keep moving forward. Join me for this episode and get inspired by Lexie's determination to just keep going and never give up on her dream on her way to reaching and passing her goal of 100 subscribers. Donate (no account necessary) | Subscribe (account required) Join Bryan Dean Wright, former CIA Operations Officer, as he breaks down today's biggest stories shaping America and the world. Trump Rejects Epstein Obsession, Fires Comey's Daughter President Trump lashes out at MAGA supporters still focused on the Epstein case, calling them “past supporters” duped by a hoax. Meanwhile, the DOJ fires Maurene Comey, James Comey's daughter and a former Epstein-related prosecutor. Bryan notes how bizarre the case has become, especially with Ghislaine Maxwell now appealing to the Supreme Court under Epstein's old plea deal. Trump Uses IRS Data to Locate and Deport Illegal Immigrants The administration is now using IRS records, including ITIN filings, to track down updated addresses for undocumented migrants. Democrats warn of racial profiling and mass arrests, but a court has upheld the program. ICE arrests are climbing toward an annual pace of 330,000, with new policies encouraging self-deportation and long-term detention for those apprehended. Eswatini Accepts U.S. Deportees the World Refuses to Take The African kingdom of Eswatini has agreed to imprison deportees that countries like Cuba, Yemen, and Laos refuse to accept. King Mswati III has taken in five convicted criminals for now. Bryan praises the move as a brilliant deterrent: mess with America and end up in a country you can't find on a map. Riots in Spain as Migrant Violence Sparks Vigilante Justice After a 68-year-old Spaniard was beaten by Moroccan migrants, vigilante attacks erupted in Torre Pacheco. Bryan frames this as part of a larger European backlash against open borders and leftist immigration policies that ignore cultural and national identity. Gaza Stampede Kills 20 as Humanitarian Aid Crisis Deepens Armed militants reportedly triggered a deadly panic at a Gaza aid site. Israeli leaders and military officials blame disorganized aid distribution and lingering Hamas interference. Peace talks remain deadlocked over the group's future role and the governance of Gaza. Mali Junta Uses Helicopters to Steal $117M in Gold from U.S. Miner Mali's ruling junta seized a ton of gold from Barrick's mine after a profit-sharing dispute. The theft underscores growing instability and radicalism in Africa, where Russian meddling and Islamic terror groups are driving waves of migration into Europe. "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." – John 8:32
