Visuals: https://getbehindthebillboard.com/episode-97-andy-clough-richard-mcgrannGood things come to those who wait … and we've been waiting a while for Andy Clough & Richard McGrann, but it was thoroughly worth it. Andy & Rich are one of adland's most brilliant and prolific teams, creating iconic award-winning work wherever they've worked. RKCR / Y&R, BBH, AMVBBDO, adam&eveDDB and Neverland have all benefited from their passion for big ideas, superbly executed. They've won awards wherever they've been, including 5 Grand Prix for their emotive ‘The Last Photo' campaign for CALM, placing them amongst the world's most awarded creatives at D&AD and Cannes. In a packed episode, we talked about The Times ‘Biggest For Sport' campaign and got a sneak peek into Andy's notebook and his sketches which were incredibly close to the finished work. For The Last Photo we discovered the inspiration for the big idea came in part from a Google search for ‘depression / suicide'. Every result had people sad, head in hands, in a dark place. The question was asked, what if people looked happy? Like a weight had been lifted, because they had decided to take the next step. This lead to the line ‘Suicide doesn't always look suicidal' and the concept of the last photo featuring real people. It's an incredibly moving story and a worthy follow up to the previous year's Project84 from Ant & Mike.We went into the wild with Whiskas, Feeding Your Cat's Instinct, which naturally won an outdoor Lion ;-)While for The Economist, for once we didn't discuss white headlines out of red, instead a thought provoking piece of DOOH on the subject of assisted suicide.Another important project was for Melanoma, more great crafting a simple graphic idea. And of course we found out how pot holes help create a great poster campaign for Pot Noodle.Gents, it was a total pleasure. So much amazing work for such a range of brands and projects, a tour de force in the great outdoors. Thank you so much. Thanks to our sponsorsBauer Media OutdoorView2FillSuper OptimalGAS Music
This Green Jumper episode looks back at an often overlooked part of Brian Clough's career. He had an incredible goalscoring record as a centre forward before becoming the Miracle Manager."He was my boyhood hero and I loved to watch him play at Middlesbrough," recalls Geoff Readman in this fascinating chat with pod host Marcus Alton. "As a young boy, I tried to copy everything he did - the way he kicked the ball and even the way he walked."Geoff also collected newspaper cuttings of his footballing hero and you can see some of those archive articles on the accompanying page on brianclough.com. When poets elegise other poets, the results are often more about self-scrutiny and analysis of the nature of poetry than about grief. Matthew Arnold commented on his elegy for Arthur Hugh Clough, ‘Thyrsis' (1865), that ‘one has the feeling that not enough is said about Clough in it.' In his elegy for W.B. Yeats (1939), Auden insists that ‘poetry makes nothing happen'. Both poems resist idealisation of their subject and use the elegy's pastoral tradition as a way of distancing themselves from the poetic sensibility of their subject. In this episode, Seamus and Mark discuss the ways in which Arnold and Auden's visions of what a poet should be aren't so far apart, and finish with a look at James Schuyler's similarly unromantic elegy for Auden, in which he finds ‘so little to say'. It's an increasingly pertinent question in football. In the days of Shankly, Clough and Ferguson it was blindingly obvious who ran their clubs. But as the manager's role has been split between the Head Coach and the Director of Football, that vision of total authority has become increasingly blurred. The Head Coach might pick the team on Saturday afternoon (or possibly Friday night or Sunday lunchtime) but bizarrely, and to his utter frustration, he might not have bought any of the players he is selecting. That could well have been the responsibility of the Director of Football and a committee. Is this a better way to run these clubs which are now billion-pound businesses? More to the point, does it increase the distance still further between the club and its fans? Omid Djalili, Jon Holmes and Colin Shindler ponder these questions. Learn more about your ad choices. This is Part 3 of a conversation with Muna Clough. I've wanted to have Muna on the podcast for quite a while. She's a participant in my on-line clinics along with her Irish Draft cross, Frank. One of the first videos she sent me showed Frank rearing up at her and then snaking his head around and biting at her legs. In the more recent videos Muna has been teaching a calm Frank lateral work. The change in their relationship has been an absolute pleasure to watch. I wanted Muna to share with us the process she's gone through to create this transformation. I can make suggestions, but we have an ocean separating us. It has been Muna who has done all the training. She's created the changes that we're seeing. In this episode we talk about the principles Muna has used to guide her choices with Frank. These principles let you weave a strong safety net under a horse. I'm always so appreciative when people share their training stories. It's very much a pay it forward system. There's always someone listening who is where they used to be with a horse. Sharing what worked, what they learned, the process they went through to get where they are today - all of that helps the next person who's new to this way of training. It is always go to people for opinions and horses for answers. We can't invite Frank onto the podcast but we can very much ask Muna to join us so she can share his story. We ended last time with a discussion of principles and that's where we pick up as we rejoin the conversation in Part 3.
S2 E47 Tate Clough In this episode, host Bob Cutler sits down with Tate Clough, the youngest guest to appear on Cocktails with Friends—a 21-year-old fashion design student, kitchen team member at Birdies, and aspiring model. Their conversation blends deep respect with light-hearted banter, exploring how Tate's calm, competent energy in the kitchen is matched by bold creativity in fashion. From cleaning up the back of house to sketching hundreds of designs for class, Tate brings thoughtfulness and ambition to every setting. Key Topics Fashion as Identity and Empowerment Tate views clothing as a way to show the world who he is—mixing confidence, creativity, and comfort into a personal expression that breaks from Maine's rural fashion norms. The Future of Sustainable Design From upcycled fabrics to locally sourced materials, Tate's vision for fashion includes eco-consciousness and community-driven aesthetics, inspired by real-world experience and classroom training. Modeling, Mentorship, and Maine Roots Despite modeling opportunities and big-city aspirations, Tate stays grounded through his work at Birdies and the mentorship of supportive family, professors, and now even Bob Cutler himself. Episode Index 1:04 – Tate reflects on joining the Birdies kitchen and how a smooth team dynamic makes the work flow. 4:00 – His Instagram handle (@Tate with 9 A's) reflects his personality and love for fashion. 6:21 – Tate explains how fashion became a personal expression and why "look good, feel good" is a daily mantra. 10:34 – He walks through the design process from sketching hundreds of looks to building a full line concept. 19:03 – Bob and Tate agree: no tie is sometimes the right tie, especially if you want to feel like yourself.
In today's episode, we're joined by a true legend in the natural men's physique scene—none other than Jonny Clough. I can make suggestions, but we have an ocean separating us. It has been Muna who has done all the training. She's created the changes that we're seeing. I'm always so appreciative when people share their training stories. It's very much a pay it forward system. There's always someone listening who is where they used to be with a horse. Sharing what worked, what they learned, the process they went through to get where they are today - all of that helps the next person who's new to this way of training. In this episode we talk about “hot potato” horses. These are horses with issues somebody else didn't want to deal with so they passed the horse on to some unsuspecting person who now has to figure out what to do with the “hot potato”. I share stories of other “hot potato” horses and Muna talks about how she worked with Frank to transform their relationship.
This is Part 1 of a conversation with Muna Clough. I've wanted to have Muna on the podcast for quite a while. She's a participant in my on-line clinics. She has an Irish draft cross named, Frank. One of the first videos Muna sent me showed Frank rearing up at her and then moments later snaking his head around to bite at her legs. In the more recent videos Muna has been teaching Frank lateral work. The change in their relationship has been an absolute pleasure to watch. All of the coaching has been through emails and the monthly coaching sessions. I can make suggestions, but we have an ocean separating us. It has been Muna who has done all the training. She's created the change that we're seeing. I wanted Muna to share with us the process she's gone through to create this transformation. It's all well and good for me to say clicker training works. When you're struggling with a horse, you can feel really trapped. When you hear from someone like Muna whose horse started out with very similar behavior, her experiences can become the light that gets you to the end of the tunnel. In this episode I begin by talking about the SABA Award that I was recently given at this year's ABAI conference. This is a very roundabout way to introduce Muna and Frank. The connection between the two is loopy training. Muna's other horse Sandro was featured in the presentation I gave during the Awards ceremony. So this seemed like the perfect time to invite Muna to join us. She began by introducing Frank, a horse she bought as a two year old and then quickly discovered that she was in way over her head. We'll be focusing on the work Muna did to transform Frank from a fire-breathing dragon into delightful equine company.
IGNITE YOUR DREAM: THE JOURNEY TO REALIZATION Hey there, dream-chasers and life-lovers! Welcome back to another raw and real episode of Personal Development Unplugged. Ever had that dream sitting in your gut that feels like it might just burn you up from the inside if you don't pursue it? That vision that keeps you awake at night, whispering "what if..." even when every logical voice around you is shouting "impossible"? Today, I'm ripping open my own journey – the messy, beautiful adventure of chasing down a dream that completely revolutionized not just my career, but who I am at my core. THE DREAM THAT WOULDN'T DIE Let me take you back to when I was standing at that crossroads we all face – playing it safe or diving into the unknown. My passion for NLP and hypnosis was like this persistent itch I couldn't scratch. Society told me to find something "sensible," something "realistic." But as we talked about in our last mastermind session – your soul doesn't speak the language of sensible. It speaks in goosebumps, in that flutter in your chest when you imagine living your purpose. Remember when I shared how I'd hide my NLP books under more "respectable" business texts when meeting clients? That's the fear talking, folks. And fear will keep you small if you let it. FINDING YOUR GUIDES IN THE WILDERNESS Here's the thing – the universe has this funny way of sending you exactly the mentor you need when you're brave enough to take that first wobbly step. For me, it was encountering masters of the craft who saw something in me I couldn't yet see in myself. They didn't just teach techniques; they modeled what was possible. As I shared in our last get-together, transformation isn't just about acquiring skills – it's about becoming the person who can hold those skills with authenticity. My mentors didn't just change my career trajectory; they helped me rewrite my internal story. LEGACY IN MOTION One of the most profound insights I've had (which many of you resonated with last time we connected) is how our dreams create ripples beyond ourselves. Watching my sons carve their own paths in this field – bringing fresh perspectives and innovations I never could have imagined – has been the ultimate validation. They're not following my footsteps; they're creating their own trail using the permission I unknowingly gave them to pursue what lights them up. That's legacy in motion, my friends. YOUR TURN: AWAKENING THE DREAM So what about you? What's that thing making your heart race when you let yourself imagine it fully? As we discussed in our last session, the feeling of the "wish fulfilled" isn't just woo-woo visualization – it's programming your reticular activating system to recognize opportunities aligned with your vision. Here's what I want you to take away: Your unconventional dream isn't "too much" – it's precisely what the world needs from you Those obstacles and naysayers? They're not roadblocks; they're invitations to strengthen your resolve The mentors you need are already out there waiting for you to be ready to receive their guidance Your clear vision of success isn't fantasy – it's the blueprint your subconscious mind uses to navigate Understanding your deepest "why" isn't just motivational fluff – it's the fuel that will carry you through the inevitable valleys THE INVITATION This journey might take longer than you expect. It'll definitely be messier. But I promise you this – each step, each failure, each moment of doubt is part of the adventure that's shaping you into the person capable of holding that dream when it manifests. Remember what we shared in our circle last time: your dream exists for a reason. It chose you because you have something unique to bring to it that no one else can. It's time to dream big and then DOUBLE IT! Share your journey with me and our community of fellow dreamers. Let's give each other the courage to reach heights we can't even imagine yet. Spread the fire – share this episode with someone whose dream deserves oxygen to grow. https://personaldevelopmentunplugged.com/445-i-had-a-deam-whats-yours/ Until next time, keep showing up, keep growing, and for heaven's sake, keep dreaming audaciously! —Your fellow traveller on this wild, wonderful journey Shine Brightly

Buffalo, Minnesota was a small town where everyone knew everyone's name, and that familiarity brought with it the kind of judgmental culture that could crush anyone who didn't fit the mold. At the top of the social pyramid sat the Preppies—the popular girls who ruled the school with their designer clothes, flawless skin, and new cars that appeared the day they turned sixteen. They had the power to make or break someone's high school experience, and for the longest time, Cheyenne Clough found herself under their scrutinizing gaze.Cheyenne wasn't a part of the popular crowd, nor was she an outcast. She floated somewhere in between, a girl who could get along with everyone but didn't need to be the center of attention. At just fifteen, Cheyenne discovered she was pregnant. At odds with her mother over how to raise the child, Cheyenne made the bold decision to move out. She found a small apartment in Maple Lake, determined to build a life for herself. Her new living situation came with its own set of complications, but at least she had a support system. Her roommates were Callie Anderson, a 19-year-old with a warrant out for arrest, and Natasha Brandenburger, a 33-year-old nurse and tattoo artist. Cheyenne felt like she had found a new family. The three women—along with their boyfriends—shared the apartment, and for the first time in a long time, Cheyenne felt safe. She felt supported. She finally belonged. But as time went on, cracks began to form in this new family dynamic.Sources: https://www.investigationdiscovery.com/video/mean-girl-murders-investigation-discovery-atve-us/minnesota-vicioushttps://maplelakemessenger.com/2018/06/benson-jensen-get-40-years-for-2016-murder-of-cheyenne-clough/https://www.annandaleadvocate.com/news/5927/four-charged-in-clough-murderhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krx2qlJe-hUSend us a textEmail Residue: residuepodcast@gmail.comFind RESIDUE online:Instagram: @residuepodcastTik Tok: @residuepodcast Facebook: Residue:A True Crime Podcast Credits: RESIDUE is Hosted/Produced/Researched/Edited by Chrissy Champagne THEME SONG: "Dance Of Death" by Purple Planet Music collection written and performed by Chris Martyn and Geoff Harvey. Creator/Host of the It Gets Late Early podcast Maureen Wiley Clough calls out the big "elephant in the room" in tech companies today: ageism is real and it's negative impacts are being felt like never before. Having herself been called a "dinosaur" at age 37 in a prior job, Maureen is helping people with practical advice to navigate age-biased, challenging work environments. Truly successful leaders recognize years of experience as an asset, not a liability. Everyone needs to embrace the power of a positive impact about aging, which research shows can add 7.5 years to our life expectancy. And never forget...your network IS your superpower.
