PA's in Denver, joined by Bruce Boudreau, Alan Roach and Mike Florio throughout the first hour!
A day after long-time Canucks broadcaster John "Cheech" Garrett announced that this will be his last season as the colour commentator for the club, JPat and Wadden wonder how the organization will honour him. The boys also go over Dakota Joshua's season split between Bruce Boudreau and Rick Tocchet's time behind the bench, while also giving praise to the organization for locking up some of its depth defencemen including Christian Wolanin who is the latest D-man to get an extension. The show wraps with who they fellas picked as their Players of the Week, who they got in the Rink Wide Penalty Box, and an update on the Fantasy Draft where it looks as if this will be the final week Team JPat holds its lead over Team Wadden. Rink Wide: Vancouver is presented by Bodog. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
On St. Patrick's Day JPat and Wadden thought it was the appropriate time to take a look at Canucks GM Patrik Allvin's moves that he's made since joining the organization. The boys also go over Vancouver's lack of ability to win low-scoring games, give praise to Andrei Kuzmenko tying Pavel Bure's club record for goals scored in their first season, while discussing Bruce Boudreau's comments about Elias Pettersson being the next captain of the Canucks. The show wraps with who the boys picked as their Players of the Week, who they got in the Rink Wide Penalty Box, plus an update on the Fantasy Draft. Rink Wide: Vancouver is presented by Bodog. Legendary player & coach Bruce Boudreau. Bruce chats about his role in the iconic movie Slapshot, his playing career in the minor leagues & NHL, getting into coaching, the incredible stops along the way, his success as an NHL coach, & his predictions for this years playoffs. The fellas close out the show with a conversation on goaltending & who should get the starts? The hot hand? or the more experienced vet? Jeff chats with Rich Peverley, Dallas Stars Director of Player Personnel, about the Stars' organizational success, why the championship window might be open for a little longer than people think, and how Joe Pavelski's leadership has been a big key for the team with some of the younger players. Later on, former NHL coach Bruce Boudreau jumps on to play a little word association and share some stories from his hockey life including going to Bobby Orr's cottage and his junior days with the legendary Toronto Marlboros (17:18). Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News wraps things up with a look at Alex Tuch's importance to the Sabres, the lack of pieces added at the trade deadline, and if prospect Devon Levi can be fast-tracked to the NHL (42:25). The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.
Former NHL head coach and the newest addition to the TSN panel Bruce Boudreau joins the guys on Overdrive to chat about the Maple Leafs and all the players they have acquired, how the Leasf can get their new players integrated, the great play of Connor McDavid and his amazing season so far, the craziness of the past two weeks leading to the deadline, his memories of working at the Gardens and more!
Second hour of OverDrive with Bryan Hayes, Jeff O'Neill, and Frank Corrado as they chat with TSN Hockey Analyst Mike Johnson from Calgary ahead of the Leafs vs. Flames tonight, the Maple Leafs looking to step up after their performance in Edmonton, and the guys are joined by Bruce Boudreau in-studio to discuss his new role as a TSN Hockey Analyst, his expectations for the deadline, and his love for wrestling.
The guys return from the long weekend and react to Elliotte Friedman reporting teams have called about J.T. Miller's availability and also catch up with former Head Coach Bruce Boudreau.Bruce Boudreau (18:30) and Craig Button (49:48).
Just days after poking the bear that is the Maple Leafs fanbase, Damien Cox joins us today to talk about his column in the Toronto Star that has raised the question - Should the Toronto Maple Leafs fire Sheldon Keefe? Damien makes his case as to why he thinks a coaching change would benefit the team and why Bruce Boudreau should be the one for the job, as we debate on whether a fresh face would be what this team needs to win a playoff series, let alone a Stanley Cup. The three also discuss Kyle Dubas' future with the club as we near the NHL trade Deadline and wonder what moves, if any, the young GM will make this year.
Matt and Blake unpack a great day's entertainment: the game, the anthem, the halftime show, the finish and the aftermath from Sunday's Super Bowl. Farhan Lalji stops by from Arizona to breakdown what happened -- and didn't happen -- in Kansas City's narrow victory over Philadelphia. Did the Eagles rush Mahomes enough, especially after he aggravated that ankle injury. John Shannon joins to give us his two cents on the Super Bowl production as a former executive producer of live sporting events. John also comments on the Canucks on the block: Luke Schenn and Tyler Myers, as well as discussing Bruce Boudreau's future.Presented by Audi Downtown Vancouver, Land Rover Vancouver & Jaguar Vancouver.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Nick Kypreos, Justin Bourne and Sam McKee begin with a brief look back at the Super Bowl and the controversial end to the game before checking in on the Leafs' home-and-home over the weekend against Columbus. They discuss the team's effort levels against poorer teams, William Nylander showing his greasy side and the problems with the bottom six. Then, former NHLer Anthony Stewart discusses the conditioning challenge coming back from the All-Star break, the importance of Michael Bunting's antics and assesses Sheldon Keefe's season (41:44). Long-standing NHL head coach and NHL Network's Bruce Boudreau breaks down Keefe's comments about effort and passion, what the Leafs need to do at the deadline and shares some stories and the challenges he faced from his time in Vancouver (1:04:54). Kyper, Bourne and Sam close with a chat about available defencemen at the deadline and their pricetags. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.
Former Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau joins the guys on Overdrive to chat about his time and dismissal in Vancouver, the Bruce there it is chants, Sheldon Keefe calling out his team after the loss to CBJ, if today's player hate losing as much as before, what the Leafs losing to bad teams tells him, if he thinks the Leafs are better than last season and more!
Bruce Boudreau was fired from the Canucks in a less-than-stellar fashion from the Canucks on Monday after being behind the bench for only 14 months. The Canucks loss is another team's gain. The Preds would do good to take a look at the bench boss players and fans love and compare him against Hynes and his current system. The Preds are on the outside looking in and despite a "competitive rebuild" and "embracing the youth movement", Hynes has done little to help the team become the team we know they can be. Do the Preds take a hard look at bringing in Bruce in the off-season or do we continue to flounder in the middle as we have done for years now?
In today's episode the guys discuss Ivan Provorov's decision to sit out of warmups and the firing of Bruce Boudreau. The guys also discuss their thoughts on their respective teams and much more. A special S&P Presents: Vancouver Media Legends. Matt and Blake are delighted to catch up with three former colleagues who are now retired. With so much recent talk about Canucks history -- low moments, captains being traded to the NYI -- the guys felt the time was right to talk to reporters and broadcasters who have chronicled so much of it. Plus, all three gentlemen catch us up on their lives today. Barry Macdonald joins remotely after he felt compelled to post on the Canucks treatment of former head coach Bruce Boudreau. Barry gives us his feelings about the way the team is currently being run and shares some incredible stories about the late Gino Odjick. Tom Larscheid still shoots his age on the golf course -- and he'll be 83 this spring! That twinkle in his eye, that pep in his voice...it all shines through as it did for 28 years in the Canucks broadcast booth. Tony Gallagher is busy travelling the country and the world in retirement, but has instant recall of so much of Canucks history. He might surprise listeners when asked about the low moments in club history.Presented by Audi Downtown Vancouver, Land Rover Vancouver & Jaguar Vancouver.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

EPISODE 118: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:43) SPECIAL COMMENT: The Trump-Russia story roared back from the dead yesterday and basically nobody noticed. They've arrested retired FBI agent Charles McGonigal, of the lead FBI investigators of 2016 Russian Electoral Interference by Putin-friendly Russian oligarch Oleg Derpiaska. The allegation? That McGonigal has spent the last year secretly working FOR OLEG DERIPASKA. And if that doesn't make you scratch your head, remember that one of Deripaska's employees was a consultant named Paul Manafort and by total coincidence one of Trump's campaign managers was a consultant named Paul Manafort. Plus updates on Biden's documents (we're up to EIGHT different stories now) and how the Arizona Senate race just changed, activating Kyrsten Sinema's aversion to three-ways. B-Block (16:28) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Robin; (17:42) IN SPORTS: Angels not for sale, Hall of Fame may not get any electees; Local newscaster struggles with the hockey name "Canucks." And "Boudreau." And "Tocchet." (23:27) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Mike Pompeo smears Jamal Khashoggi, Elon Musk again, and the M&M Nonsense fight for the honors. C-Block (29:08) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Since it's baseball Hall of Fame announcement day, the story of the time I was asked at age 20 to call Willie Mays after he was banned from the game. A woman answered. Or it sounded like a woman. But it also sounded like Willie. And that's when the fun began.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
