In this last episode, I interviewed a Chinese stand-up comic Lee Yi, who performs in both Chinese and English in Shanghai. It is intriguing to know his comedy journey and his struggles as a comedian in China. The audio is in mandarin Chinese. I started to chat with He Fangzhou on Instragram before we met because we have the same passion for comedy. He went to Canada to study mathmatics but fell in love with standup comedy. His pro life in Canada is divided between hitchhiking to comedy gigs and performing at various clubs across Canada. This episode was recorded in a public park during my visit to Toronto in 2018. His performance at Yuk Yuk comedy store was much fun. During my interview, I got to know he started to do comedy full-time just after one year into comedy. I did not realize how much a comic could improve if one started to do this full-time until I met with him again last year in Beijing. I was amazed and shocked by his performance and control of stage. I think that his experience made me finally decided to quit my job and move to Melbourne to pursue comedy full-time. I have so much respect for Him. She lived in Baltimore with her boyfriend. All of us are doing standup comedy and trying to improve and grow as comedians to represent our voices and break stereotype.
