Few factors shape our hearts and lives more than what we have endured through suffering. If they go unexamined, our wounds will often set the course for habits and priorities that do not align with the way of Jesus. But bringing them into the light, before Jesus, can heal and transform our wounds, and open the way forward.
Human beings are wired for stories, and we use them to make meaning of our lives. As Jesus followers, we are called to locate our lives within the grand narrative of God's creating and saving work in the world. But other stories compete for our attention, allegiance and formation.
In order to move forward with aligning our lives to the Way of Jesus, we must take time to examine how we have been, and are being counter-formed away from his likeness. This includes celebrating and examining one of the greatest influences in our formation- our families.

The reality of the resurrection of Jesus sets a new life course for his followers. Jesus makes room for their doubts, but immediately their routines and priorities are reordered around the new purpose of following in the way of the resurrected Jesus.
Jesus not only taught, but clearly demonstrated that The Way to be great, is to humble ourselves and serve.
Perhaps the single greatest key to unlocking The Way of Jesus, is heeding his command to let go of our lives.
While it's often much easier said than done, going The Way of Jesus does require forgiving others as he has forgiven us.
No teaching of Jesus is more counter cultural, or difficult to walk out, than his command to go The Way of resisting revenge, and loving our enemies.
This Lent, we are seeking to Find and Follow The Way of Jesus, by leaning into his own words about the ways his followers are uniquely called to live. Nowhere is that better summarized, than in the Beatitudes, wherein Jesus observes that those who are the weakest, poorest, saddest, and meekest, are the most likely to find The Way.
In the book of Proverbs, King Solomon repeatedly advises his son regarding the importance of walking the way of peace, over conflict. This week, Pastors Ryan & Jenn Alexander, share candidly from their own marriage how they are learning to seek peace over fighting.
In the book of Proverbs, King Solomon repeatedly advises his son regarding the importance of walking the way of integrity. This week, Dr. Gemechis Buba (Ethiopia) shares from his experience as a leader and father, how living with integrity makes the path straight.
In the book of Proverbs, King Solomon advises his son on the practical ways he should walk in, including repeatedly addressing the importance of walking the way of hard work. This week, Pastor Michael Baker leans into the proverbs that encourage hard work, over laziness.
Long before Jesus came to embody The Way, God empowered other men to live and point the way. The prophet Isaiah encouraged the people of God to wait for God to make a way, and listen for the voice of The Spirit, to say “This is the way; walk in it.”
Long before Jesus came to embody The Way, God empowered other men to live and point the way. King David lived and led with a passionate and poetic heart, who earnestly prayed for God to teach him how to walk in his ways.
Long before Jesus came to embody The Way, God chose and empowered leaders to live and point the way toward what it means to walk the path that God intends for His people. Moses was entrusted with the timeless commands, or laws, that provide the boundary lines to guide our path.
Christians were first known as “followers of The Way.” Though often maligned and persecuted, historical writings indicate that early followers of The Way were also respected for their set apart generosity, love, and standards of living that sought to align with the character and heart of Jesus.
We all want to find the way… the “best way” to be successful, happy, healthy and relate to God and others. But when we are honest, the ways we've tried don't always lead to this elusive destination- perhaps because The Way doesn't lead to a place, but a person…
It's a New Year. Every one of us gets to choose- anew- the way we want to go. The way we choose will either lead to more stress, discord and exhaustion or to more joy, peace and deeper connection to God and others. This year, will we dare to humble ourselves and pray for God to show us The Way?

On the Sunday before Christmas, we culminate our Year of Good News by remembering what the baby in the manger ultimately came to do- sacrifice his life- to set humanity free from the control of sin- so we can live by the power of his Spirit. This was far greater news than anyone could ever have expected.
The good news that was initially proclaimed to lowly shepherds would eventually reach the pious ears of Paul… and for both, the good news about Jesus was simply too good not to be shared.
There are moments when God seems silent, and we might wonder if He has a plan. Then He shows up at unlikely times to unlikely people- like Mary- and all things become possible.
Grace. It not only saves our souls, but also day by day, it restores and heals our lives.
Grace. It's all we need. And our times of greatest weakness are the widest portal for God's grace to flow through.

Paul continues his encouragement to put on the whole armor of God by reminding believers that they must carry the shield of faith, to hold up for protection when the enemy attacks.

Paul continues his encouragement to put on the whole armor of God by reminding believers that they must carry the shield of faith, to hold up for protection when the enemy attacks.
As Paul lists the pieces of God's spiritual armor that believers must put on, he includes the shoes that allow the soldier to stand firm and be ready to move over any terrain- the sandals of peace.
In the midst of the challenges and turmoil of their day, Paul encourages the believers that they can stand firm, by putting on every piece of the armor of God- including the largest protective piece- the body armor of righteousness.
Good News- our battle is not against one another. But the battle against our common spiritual enemy does require us to suit up with armor- that protects and defends. Paul begins where soldiers must- the Belt that holds all of the armor in place… Truth.
In the midst of the social and political turmoil of their day, Paul proclaimed the Good News to Christians, that they could stand steady and strong, by remaining united against a common enemy.

While our physical lives will end one day, we can live our lives in such a way that abundant joy and generosity keeps on flowing long after we're gone! When we begin with the end in mind, our capacity to be generous overflows in lasting and life-changing ways.
We live in a world where many have more than they need and others are dying due to a lack of basic needs. What if we got beyond living for wants and started giving beyond our needs to meet the needs of others who have “less” than us. God's Word tells us exactly what will happen: Our lives will overflow with purpose and joy!
A life of giving and generosity flows out of what we've been given, not arbitrary “feelings” that we never have or give enough. When we see everything we have as coming from God, our giving flows naturally out of a heart that overflows with gratitude, humility and joy.
Life can be demanding, complex, and overwhelming. Paul encouraged the early followers of Jesus that they now had a source of supernatural strength to do ALL things.
Laurel Bunker preaches the third week of our series All Means All.
We all know the anxiety that comes when money is tight, or resources are thin. But Paul assures the early followers of Jesus that God will supply ALL of their needs.
Romans 8:28 is one of the most often quoted verses in the whole bible, for good reason. Paul assures the early followers of Jesus that God can work for the good, in ALL circumstances.
For Paul, Love was not an abstract concept, or fickle feeling. Christian Love had definition and practical application.
For Paul, the good news began and ended with love. Though other priorities and positions mattered, they were all noise if love was not the endgame.
As Paul brought the good news to people in a culture of distorted, disordered, and temporary loves, he proclaimed the good news of a preeminent love, that surpasses and outlasts every other.
