On this final episode of Season 5, I look at the topic of Statism. Despite using that term in the past, I wanted to do a deeper dive into Statism - the idolatry of the civil government. Referencing works such as Idols For Destruction and Identity and Idolatry, I discuss what Statism is, what it looks like, and how to respond to it. I also play a recent clip from New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani regarding government-run grocery stores as a perfect example of Statism. Ultimately, the answer to Statism is not separatism, or staying removed from politics/civics, but the word of God and the good news of Jesus Christ. Please sign up to attend the Future of Christendom conference from October 9-11 in Lancaster, PA. The theme of the conference is No Other Name and includes an address by Pastor Jeff Durbin. On today's episode, I finish reviewing a video by Professor R. L. Solberg on the topic of God's law. While I agree with most of what Professor Solberg says, I think that there a few points of disagreement. Most of them surround the application and use of the Old Testament law in the life of a Christian. On a different note, if you have not done so yet, please sign up to attend the Future of Christendom conference from October 9-11 in Lancaster, PA. We're continuing our series in Acts at the 4:30pm Service and this Sunday, Senior Pastor, Sam Williamson, is preaching on Acts 4:1-22 - No other name
On today's episode, I briefly discuss the Hebrew Roots movement and then begin reviewing a video by Professor R. L. Solberg on the topic of God's law. In what I believe to be his attempt to counter the Hebrew Roots movement, Professor Solberg goes a bit too far and seems to be advocating for a kind of antinomianism. While that may not be his intent, it demonstrates that we must take care to not fall into ditches on either side of the road on any topic, including that of God's law.If you have not done so yet, please sign up to attend the Future of Christendom conference from October 9-11 in Lancaster, PA. On today's episode, I discuss the recent Theonomy Symposium hosted by Future of Christendom in Lancaster, PA. While there I was invited to serve on a three-judge panel that was given a mock trial/case to adjudicate. The specific problem we were presented with was a noise complaint. Aside from going over the trial and how we reached a solution, on this episode I also look at the related issue of zoning laws. Now, if you have not read your local zoning code, I would encourage you to do so. Not only will you see just how ridiculous it is, you will probably be surprised by how many times you have violated the code without even realizing it. Such is the nature of man's attempt to solve problems apart from God's law.And if you have not done so yet, please sign up to attend the Future of Christendom conference from October 9-11 in Lancaster, PA. Send us a textThis sermon helps us see John 3:16 in the light of the Trinity, so that we can fully appreciate the true nature of God's self-giving through his Son. We will consider the benefit of acknowledging the entire Trinity in all our circumstances. It is difficult to determine precisely how often John 3:16 is quoted around the world, but it is widely recognized as one of the most quoted, memorized, and beloved Bible verses. Its prominence in Christian preaching, teaching, evangelism, and media makes it central to the global proclamation of the Gospel.Text: John 3:13-18; John 1:51; John 14:3-7; Eze 18:31-32; Romans 8:3-4; Acts 4:12 Support the show
No Other Name l Acts 4:1-22 l 4-27-25
This is message 9 in The Power of God's Name Acts 4:1-12 Peter declared that healing and salvation come only through Jesus Christ. Confronted by religious leaders, he boldly affirmed that Jesus—crucified and risen—is the only name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. His words called all to turn from self-righteousness and trust in Christ alone. "No Other Name" (Acts 4:1-12)
Today, Easter Sunday, we focus on the resurrection of Jesus. While Christians remember and celebrate this most pivotal of historic events, we sometimes do so without understanding considering the breadth and comprehensiveness of the salvation secured for us by Christ. Join us as we celebrate Christ as a total savior!
No Other Name Acts 4:1-12 Pastor Jae Lee
We see that Peter and John are filled with the Holy Spirit and it makes them bold and the people know they have been with Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus! His name is greater than any other—above sickness, fear, and even the enemy himself. But what does it really mean to pray "in Jesus' name"? Is it just something we say, or is there true authority behind it?In this message, we explore:
The stranded Astronauts return! Is Elon a hero or just money hungry? Is he really pulling the strings in this country or is Trump just satisfied knowing the world's richest man works for him?We get live highlights from Jeremy following his first Sight & Sound experience!! (David!)And we dive deep into the necessity of being baptized in the only name under Heaven given among men where by we must be saved!!! (JESUS!!)

Episode 162 On this weeks episode we talk about how the only way to the Father is through the son and how we can proclaim that truth to a lost world! My email- DonovanLjones1994@gmail.com
Jesus Christ alone has the power and authority to give us life eternal. It cost the death and suffering of Christ to pay our sin debt. Once you have asked God to forgive your sin and by faith trusted Christ alone for your soul's salvation, nothing else is needed. Everlasting life is an everlasting discovery of God. Because we know eternal life, we are to be witnesses of eternal life.
The power of Jesus' name is the element that washes away the stain of sin on our lives. It is the only name that can save us!

In the book of Acts, Luke is reinforcing for us what he repeatedly emphasized in the gospel of Luke: Our God has come to rescue and to restore the outcast and the sinner. It is one of the most beautiful truths of the Christian faith that God loved us while we were yet sinners. God seeks to restore those who have rebelled against him and those who have been really far from Him. God saves the least likely. Over the next few Sundays, we are going to see in the book of Acts how God saves individuals who are outsiders and/or really deep sinners (ie.,Saul of Tarsus). Up until now, the stories of conversion to the Christian faith have been groups of people turning to Christ from Jerusalem to Judea to Samaria. Now, God goes after individuals who would be seen as far outside the circle of His people or far from any hope of coming to faith in Jesus Christ. It is meant to be a gamechanger for the church. God loves to save the outsider, the outcast, the sinner. It's a gamechanger for those who feel that their sin and brokenness make the thought of full acceptance hard for them to imagine. Yet, that's the gospel. God seeks and saves the lost and the least likely. He loves to do that. As Peter writes in 1 Peter 2:10 “Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people.” Come this Sunday, as we study Acts 8:26-40. Our message is called, “The God of the Outcast.” Come if you feel alone and isolated and forsaken. It will encourage you. Come if you feel safe and at home with God. It will change the way that you see the world and I pray that it will put strong hope in your hearts for the mission of God in the world where you live and serve everyday. We will be taking communion together as a family. Come and be encouraged and invite a friend. In Christ, Kevin Dibbley, Senior Pastor
Acts 4:1-22 (ESV) 1 And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them, 2 greatly annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3 And they arrested them and put them in custody until […] The post No Other Name (Acts 4:1-22) first appeared on Hope of Christ Church.

The Testimony of Carlos MercadoIs salvation found in religion? Or is it found in a person?Carlos Mercado grew up in the Catholic Church, but faith always felt more like a ritual than a relationship. Religion was something he was familiar with, but he never truly bought into it. That all changed when he met his wife, Nicole. As they started attending church together, Carlos was introduced to the truth of the gospel. He realized that salvation isn't about following religious traditions—it's about knowing Jesus. His journey led him to be baptized, and today, he is passionate about serving God, raising his children in the faith, and honoring Christ through his HVAC and plumbing business. In This Episode:✔️ Carlos' childhood experience with religion and why it never felt personal✔️ The turning point when he encountered Jesus and gave his life to Him✔️ How baptism marked a new chapter in his faith✔️ His commitment to raising his children to know and love God✔️ Using his business as a way to honor ChristCarlos' story is a powerful reminder that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved—only Jesus (Acts 4:12). If you've ever felt like you were going through the motions of faith but longed for something more, this testimony will encourage you.

A look at Apostle Peter's statement about what salvation in the name of Yeshua meant in its first-century, apostolic context.
Sunday Morning Message
The foundation of the Christian church was the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and because His execution had been perpetrated by the authorities, this meant that Christianity was established in defiance of the established authorities. And once the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Lord's disciples, this also meant that the Body of Christ took shape under exactly the same conditions.

Why is it that we're not more courageous in sharing our faith with others? What's keeping us from speaking up about Jesus? If we want to grow in our boldness and willingness to share our faith with others, we must 1) Be with Jesus and 2) Ask for courage.
Christianity was born into a society hostile to its claims. And the claim that was most revolting to that society is also what our society sees as the most repugnant: the shocking claim that salvation is found in no one else. It's critical to realize this claim was as implausible in the Greco-Roman world as it is in ours. The Roman Empire was every bit as religiously pluralistic as our society, if not more. If they were as revolted as we were, why did so many believe it? Acts 4 shows us four important things: 1) the claim was an implication, not arrogation, 2) the claim is no more exclusive than the claim of religious relativism, 3) this exclusive claim led to a transformation of identity, and 4) this exclusive claim led to the most inclusive human community the world had ever seen. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on October 26, 2003. Series: The Necessity of Belief. Scripture: Acts 4:8-14, 31-37.
