As Christian men, we will sin. It's vital when we see that we confess our sins to God and ask Him to cleanse us and forgive us. At times, the Holy Spirit may prompt us to confess our sin struggles to our wives. I have experienced this and I have felt the hurt it brings, but also the healing it brings.

Can God still move mountains, heal the sick, and intervene in dramatic, supernatural ways—or are miracles a thing of the past? Does the power of our prayers invite God’s hand, or is it all predetermined? In this unforgettable episode, Catherine sits down with Clifton Payne Jr.—author, pastor, and someone who has personally witnessed the miraculous—to tackle these timely and crucial questions for every Christian parent. Together, they explore: Real-Life Miracles: Clifton shares a stunning testimony of praying over his wife’s dearest friend—a woman with a terminal brain tumor who, against all odds, survived life-threatening surgery and then, during a moment of crisis, experienced an instantaneous healing as they cried out to God. “Not in my name nor authority, but in the authority of Jesus of Nazareth—I command these fluids to be gone.” Instantly, her lungs, ravaged by stomach acids, were clear. “I didn’t feel anything except a sense of anger at the injustice—but the miracle happened.” When Miracles Don’t Come: Even after this incredible event, Clifton and his family faced sorrow as their friend soon passed away. Together, Catherine and Clifton wrestle with what it means when God doesn’t answer as we hope. The Role of Prayer: Drawing on scripture and personal experience, they discuss how prayer isn’t just a ritual—it’s a gateway for God’s will on earth. Clifton notes, “Jesus gave us a model prayer: ‘on earth as it is in heaven.’ Is there any sickness in heaven? No. Poverty? No. So I can always pray against those things.” Catherine urges parents, “It won’t be my lack of faith or prayer that prevents God from doing the miracle. I’m going to pray for healing, and for His will to come.” God’s Not a Formula—He’s a Relationship You’ll be challenged by the reminder that miracles aren’t the result of a spiritual formula or magic words. Cliff and Catherine emphasize that God leads and acts through relationship, not rote ritual. “Always write your theology in pencil,” Cliff was taught. We’re called to listen, trust, and obey—even when the outcome isn’t what we’d have chosen. Seeking rules and protocols miss the point: “It’s all about being in tune with the Spirit, walking closely with God, and learning to hear His voice.” Prayers and “Coincidences”: Clifton quotes Canon J. John: “When we pray, coincidences happen. When we don’t, they don’t.” The episode emphasizes that partnering with God in prayer is far more than wishful thinking—it’s joining Him in His ongoing work. Standout Quotes: “God doesn’t always write the story the way you would.” “When we pray, coincidences happen. When we don’t, they don’t.” As Christian parents, the question isn’t just does God still perform miracles?—but are we inviting Him into our lives and our children’s future through faith-filled prayer? Can your children witness the wonder of God—not just hear about it? About the guest:Clifton H. Payne Jr., author of What the Bible Really Says About Tithing and Giving: It’s Different than You Think, is a former pastor, Bible student, and eye-witness to miraculous moves of God, whose journey from church hurt to New Age, and back to vibrant faith, is a testimony every parent should hear. Tune in for encouragement, challenge, and hope—discover how faith (and prayer) can unlock God’s intervention in the crazy world we parent in. Discussion prompt for parents:What miraculous answers to prayer—big or small—have you witnessed or experienced? How can you model faith-filled prayer to your children, trusting that God still listens and acts, even when the outcome isn’t what you expected? School has been back in session for a couple of months now and you can be sure that there are a host of high schoolers thinking about where they are going to attend college. Members of SheKnows Teen Council were surveyed regarding their approach to college applications. When asked to use one word to describe how they were feeling about the application process they used a variety of words, including uncertain, overwhelmed, anxious, nervous, stressed, competitive, terrified, ready, excited, and restless. We have found that our culture along with peer and social media pressure has made the college application process stressful for both students and their parents. As Christian parents, we need to lead our kids into understanding that college acceptance is not to be pursued as a mark of their identity. Rather, they are to lean into the peace given by God as He directs the process, and they are to approach college as vocational prep for a lifetime of serving and glorifying God.
Character and integrity aren't just learned, they're taught, and all our children have to do is listen and observe how we parent them and live our daily lives to know what those values look like. As Christian parents, we not only need to teach our children about character and integrity, but we also want them to understand how these two values connect to the bigger picture of Christianity and their role in it. If character and integrity are something you personally struggle with or struggle to teach your kids, don't worry. Every day is a new day and in today's episode, I share verses on what God has to say about these values and discuss how we can exhibit and teach them to our children as we as parents strive to become more like Jesus in our own lives. Let's go.
In this episode of Women Soaring, we're diving into what it means to live with urgency when it comes to sharing the Gospel — not out of fear, but out of love. As Christian women, military spouses, and homeschool moms, our lives are filled with countless conversations — at the coffee shop, on the sidelines, in the homeschool co-op, or during deployment seasons. But how often do we see those everyday moments as opportunities to shine God's light? We often think sharing our faith needs to be loud or perfectly planned, but so much of God's work happens quietly — over a cup of coffee, through a text of encouragement, or while helping a friend in need. This episode explores how we can bring Jesus into our conversations naturally and authentically, reflecting His love through our daily walk.Join us as we talk about:☕ Turning small talk into meaningful conversations

The kids have been back in school for a couple of months now, which has allowed plenty of time for marketers to collect their data on the spending preferences and habits of our kids. The folks at TeenVoice tell us that this year kids were excited about shopping. Using a scale of one to five, the excitability factor averaged about three-point-six, with girls and boys being equal, and younger kids more excited than those who are older to go shopping. When it comes to who is influencing their purchases, social media and parents hold equal influence. You won't be surprised that this year's in-demand shoe brands are Nike, Adidas, and Jordans. Preferred backpack brands are Nike, Jansport, and North Face. And what about skinny jeans? Well, they are “out” this year. As Christian parents, we need to mindful of our need to counter the constant onslaught of marketing messages that convince our kids that they are what they wear. Instead, we need to teach them principles and practices of biblical stewardship.
No relationship is more foundational or influential, than the parent-child relationship. As Christian parents, we not only desire to teach our children about Jesus, but also to love them in The Way he does.
I was once held hostage by a dragonfly. This is very embarrassing, but it is true. I was just a little guy and my cousin and I were sitting on these swings in her backyard. I believed everything she said. And a dragonfly started to circle us on the swings. He was a big old guy - at least he looked big compared to the size I was then. And then he landed on the swing, and my cousin said to me, "You know, if they get mad at you they'll drill a hole through you." I took one look at him and he kind of dived back and forth and started to dive bomb us. I started imagining him boring a hole in me, and it seemed reasonable. So I was frozen to the swing. I must have been there for a half hour... maybe an hour, I don't know. I didn't move until the crazy dragonfly left. Did I mention this is embarrassing? Well, today I know a dragonfly is nothing to fear, but my cousin that day made me afraid of something that I didn't need to be afraid of. That might be happening at your house. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Paralyzed Parents." Our word for today from the Word of God is from 2 Timothy 1:7. "For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline." This is a great verse for parents isn't it? Parents especially who are raising children in a very pagan, out-of-control world like ours. In fact, earlier in this chapter Paul talks about Timothy's Mother, Eunice, and how her faith was passed on to her son. She had an unbelieving husband, the Bible tells us, she was raising Timothy in a lost culture, and yet she turned out a son who was a great spiritual leader. Now, one of the keys is in this seventh verse, "don't parent out of fear." You know, I'm a Dad of three kids that grew up in this kind of a world, and I know that we tend to look at a world where lies are taught as truth and where wrong is promoted as the right thing to do, and where sex outside of marriage is expected. That's the kind of world we're living in no doubt about it. Sin is boasted about. Our tendency is to grab our child and run to a cave with him or her and try to keep that child from ever rubbing shoulders with that nasty world. Do you know what we're communicating? We're saying, "You know, that darkness out there is really big and strong, and I'm not sure Jesus is strong enough to compete with it." We're giving the Devil and we're giving the darkness a lot of credit when we teach our children to be afraid of it. Yes, we need to teach them to live in a dark world, but not to be afraid of it. We serve a Christ who blew the doors off of death. We serve a Jesus to whom demons surrender. Let's not hide from the darkness. He empowers His children to change the darkness. Many days our kids came home from school with words they heard or ideas or questions. And, well, we found that those are the moments to seize, not to freeze. We can say to our kids, "You know, I'm glad that came up. Let me show you how much better Jesus' idea is." See, Jesus called us to be salt and light, and they have to be in contact with something if they're going to change it. Right? But we forfeit a whole generation if our kids withdraw from the people who've never touched Jesus. They're not sacrificial lambs. They're people who can make a difference and raise their kids on the two words I raised ours on: GO MAD! Go make a difference! You need to change things. Don't let them change you. You are their hope of another way to be. I sat on a swing one day as a boy, paralyzed by something I didn't need to fear. As Christian parents let's not do that or cause our children to do it. Teach them the dangers of a lost world for sure; expose the darkness. And then outfit them with a strong version of Jesus who doesn't run from the darkness. He challenges the darkness.
A new survey reveals that even Christians do not have a solid understanding of what the Bible teaches. This truth decay cascades down to our society and the result is a nation that does whatever is right in its own eyes. As Christian parents, we need to read the entire Bible. It impacts our entire lives and how we disciple our children.

In this episode, Dr. Leelo Bush reflects on the power of conviction and courage, drawing inspiration from Charlie Kirk's “Never Surrender” message. She parallels his example with the calling of Christian coaches, counselors, and leaders to live and teach boldly, even through difficult times and opposition. This is more than a tribute to Charlie Kirk. It's a conversation about how his message of courage and conviction can inspire us as Christian coaches, counselors, and ministry leaders. This is today's topic. Welcome to the Christian Coaching School podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Leelo Bush. I'm a master coach, author, curriculum creator, and the number one authority on Spirit-led Christian coaching. I've trained tens of thousands worldwide since 2003. And if you are ready to uplevel your skills, find greater fulfillment, and employ the most powerful coaching available to mankind—let's go. Welcome, friends. I'm Dr. Leelo Bush, your host. I pioneered Spirit-led Christian life coaching more than 20 years ago and wrote the first comprehensive Christian coaching handbook, now in its second edition. Through my academies and training programs, I have helped believers around the world discover how to coach and counsel with the wisdom of Scripture, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the tools of transformation that change lives. I'm honored to have you with me today. Charlie poured his heart into building a movement to save America. He believed in young people. He believed in ordinary Americans. And he believed that even in our darkest hours, America was the beacon of goodness, freedom, and truth. And he gave his life for that. Our task now is not only to protect what he built, but to grow it bigger, stronger, and bolder than anyone ever thought possible. And look around you—it's happening. God took his one voice, and when the enemy came against him, multiplied it thousands and thousands of times greater. As a first-generation American and daughter of parents who fled communism, faith, freedom, and opportunity are hallmarks to everything I do and believe in. Charlie lived his life with boldness. He was unafraid to step into the public square and declare what he believed to be true. His motto, as his family shared, was “Never surrender.” He knew what it meant to take the heat, to endure criticism, and to keep going. Whether or not we agreed with him on every point, there was no denying that he embodied a spirit of courage that calls all of us higher. He leaves behind a legacy of boldness and impact, reminding us that one life lived with conviction can awaken a generation. For me, his life echoes the same conviction that God placed in my heart years ago when He called me to pioneer Christian life coaching. I remember when the idea of Spirit-led coaching was new, even unrecognized. And when it emerged, there was opposition from the old guard who thought coaching this way was too spiritual, too radical. There was no roadmap but the one God gave me. Yes, He gave me the vision, and I wrote the first Spirit-led Christian coaching textbook so that believers everywhere could have a biblical, Spirit-filled foundation for helping others. Since then, thousands have been trained, certified, and sent into the world as coaches and counselors who carry Christ's love and transformation to countless lives. That work continues today through many programs: Christian life coaching, Christian counseling, grief coaching, stress relief coaching, wellness, and so much more. These are all branches of the same tree that God planted in me. At the conclusion of this episode, I encourage you to visit the Academy. I know you have many options when it comes to training, and yes, you can invest far more or far less than our tuition. But here's the truth: you won't find training of greater value anywhere, at any price. Why am I so confident? Since I pioneered Spirit-led Christian coaching in 2003 and literally wrote the book on it, we have never stopped refining, improving, and aligning our programs with the unchanging, infallible Word of God. The results speak for themselves. Our students' lives are transformed, and through them God's power ripples outward, impacting families, communities, and nations for His glory. This is why so many of our graduates return again and again for more training. They know what we offer simply cannot be found anywhere else. In addition, we are honored to provide financial support opportunities, including tuition assistance for veterans and the Kingdom Impact Scholarship Program. Remember: God calls us to be evenly yoked in our relationships, in business, and even more importantly, in who we choose to learn from. Select your training with the same discernment you would use to choose your church. It's that important. Visit PCCCA.org/courses. While you're there, explore our programs. Pray for guidance, and when you're ready, enroll with confidence knowing you have found the right place. Your calling to impact lives is too important to wait. And when I reflect on Charlie Kirk's “Never Surrender” message, I see a bridge between his example and what we are called to do in coaching and counseling. He showed what it looks like to stand firm in public life. We are called to help people stand firm in their personal lives in the face of grief, loss, confusion, or pressure to compromise their values. Our role is to give clients the tools to find their courage, to clarify their convictions, and to live in a way that builds a legacy for Christ. So let's make this practical. One tool you can use is something I call the Conviction Clarifier. Invite your client or group to write down three values they will not surrender no matter what. Ask them: if your life were on display, what would you want people to see about you? Then help them define behaviors that show those values and identify what it would look like to compromise them. When they put those convictions into clear words, it becomes a compass for their life. Another tool is what I call the Grief-to-Purpose Mapping. All of us have experienced loss. Instead of letting grief silence us, we can let it fuel us. Ask your client: what did you lose, and what did you gain in strength or insight because of it? Then challenge them to map one concrete action that channels that new strength into serving others—maybe it's writing a book, starting a group, or simply encouraging someone who is hurting. In this way, grief becomes the soil for new growth. You can also practice what I call the Courage Role Play. Create a scenario where your client feels pressured to back down or stay silent. Play the role of that pressure. Then let them practice standing firm calmly and respectfully. Afterwards, debrief what felt strong and what felt shaky. This helps them prepare to live out their convictions in real life with grace and confidence. And then one of my favorite exercises is the Legacy Letter. Invite your client to imagine writing a letter to a future grandchild, describing the kind of life they lived and the values they stood for. This draws their focus away from the stress of today and helps them live in a way that their future self and future generations will admire. Scripture reinforces every one of these tools. Joshua 1:9 tells us, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Second Timothy 1:7 says, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” And Hebrews 12 reminds us to run with perseverance, fixing our eyes on Jesus, who endured opposition so that we would not grow weary. Those words anchor us as we encourage others to never surrender. So the question is: who do we need to become? If our lives were held up as examples the way Charlie Kirk's is now, what would people see? Would they see courage or compromise? Would they see faith or fear? Would they see a legacy that points to Christ, or a life that's simply drifting along? As Christian coaches, counselors, and leaders, we are called to embody courageous conviction, spiritual authenticity, resilience, rest, and legacy-minded living. That means we must walk the talk, so that when people look at us, they don't just hear words—they see a life that demonstrates what is possible in Christ. So here's my challenge to you: define one conviction you will never surrender. Write it down. Share it with someone you trust. And then live it out this week in a tangible way. Help your clients and groups do the same. Teach them to clarify their convictions, to transform grief into purpose, to practice courage, and to think about the legacy they will leave. As we close, let's return once more to Charlie's words: “If you believe in something, you need to have the courage to fight for those ideas, not run away from them, or try and silence them.” Let's take that to heart, not only in the public arena, but in the private battles of life—in the moments of grief, and in the coaching sessions where we help others rise to their calling. Let's pray. Lord, we thank You for examples of courage that stir us to live more boldly. Teach us to never surrender to fear or compromise, but to stand firm in truth, to comfort those who mourn, and to raise up leaders who will impact the world for Your glory. May our lives be legacies that point to Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen. Until next time, remember this: never surrender to fear, never surrender to grief, and never surrender your calling. Live with conviction, coach with courage, and leave a legacy that will echo for generations. “Be sure to look them in the eye and say please and thank you.” If you grew up in home like mine, you constantly heard those words from your mother as she was training you to be kind and polite in social situations. I learned that lesson well and hope that we were successful in passing it on to our own kids. New research from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has found that when family members show appreciation and gratitude to each other through saying “thank you”, relationships are strengthened and mental health improves. For married couples, showing gratitude to your partner improves relationship satisfaction and mental health. When a child expresses thanks to a parent, parenting stress is actually reduced. As Christian parents, we want to be sure to teach our kids that all good things come from God, including the gift of salvation. Point them to I Chronicles 16:34: “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”

How many times have you told yourself, “I'm just giving myself grace”—right after overeating or slipping into old habits? As Christian women, we know grace is one of the most beautiful gifts God has given us. But sometimes, we misplace it. Grace was never meant to excuse sin or keep us stuck in unhealthy cycles. Instead, it's meant to lift us up and empower us to walk in righteousness. In today's episode, I'm sharing encouragement and scripture to help you keep grace in its proper place—strength for the journey, not a license for gluttony. My fourteen-year-old self had gone to bed at my usual 9pm time. Two hours later, I woke up to use the bathroom. While walking undetected past my parents darkened room, I not only heard my dad whispering, but I heard him whispering my name. It was at that unforgettable moment that I learned that my parents' bedtime routine included intercession on behalf of their three children. I had been blessed with parents whose only stated hope for me was that I would grow up to love, follow, and serve Jesus Christ. As Christian parents, our hope for our children should be the same. The good news is that parents always exercise the greatest influence on the spiritual lives of their children. God has established the home as the primary arena for spiritual nurture. This influence is effectively exercised as we entrust our children to God, which includes certain responsibilities that He has entrusted to us. Listen in all this week as we talk about how to entrust our children to God.
As Christian parents, we are called to raise our kids in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We must be doing what we can to lead them into an adulthood that is spiritually, emotionally, relationally, intellectually, AND physically healthy. Their physical health depends greatly on how we teach them to steward their God-given bodies during their childhood and teenage years. One aspect of this that's related to today's youth culture regards caffeine intake. Are you aware, for example, that your local quickmart drink coolers are filled with aggressively marketed caffeine-infused energy drinks that appeal to teens? And, are you aware that ER visits due to eating or drinking too much caffeine have doubled among middle school kids, and almost doubled for our high schoolers between 2017 and 2023? Parents, we need to educate our kids on God-honoring matters of health and on the dangers of caffeine intake, along with setting borders and boundaries for their consumption.
Finding Joy When Your Kids Walk Away: Trusting Jesus Over Outcomes Parenting is one of the most rewarding yet challenging journeys we can experience. As Christian parents, we often dream of raising children who follow Jesus, make wise choices, and walk closely with God. But what happens when our children choose a different path? How do we find hope and joy when our kids seem far from the faith we love? In this episode of The Bridge Between Us Podcast, we tackle these difficult questions head-on with guest Mary DeMuth, author of Love, Pray, Listen. Together, we explore how parents can trust Jesus in seasons of uncertainty and heartbreak. When Outcomes Become Idols It's natural to want the best for our kids. But sometimes, even good desires can turn into idols. When we say, “I'll be okay if my kids do exactly what I want,” we're putting our hope in outcomes, not in Jesus. As Mary DeMuth shares, this is a trap many parents fall into. We want control—but the truth is, we don't have it. God reminds us that our role is to love, guide, and pray, but ultimately, our children have free will. Finding Joy in Heartbreak One powerful theme from the conversation is the idea of finding joy even when life doesn't look like we planned. How do you celebrate the goodness of God when your heart is breaking? The answer is in understanding that joy is not based on circumstances—it's rooted in Jesus. Mary DeMuth reminds us that even God, the perfect Father, has children who rebelled. Our pain is something He understands deeply, and that connection can become a source of unexpected joy. Practical Tools for Grieving Parents Grief is real, and it's okay to lament. In this episode, you will be encouraged to use the biblical model of lament—pouring out your heart to God, describing your pain, and choosing to praise Him anyway. Writing your prayers, journaling your emotions, and finding a safe person to share with can help release the heavy burden of parenting heartbreak. Another powerful takeaway is learning to let go of specific outcomes in your prayers. Instead of telling God exactly how to move, Mary DeMuth suggests praying, “Surprise me with how You reach my child.” This shift opens the door to trust and helps parents see God's creative work in ways they might have missed. Love That Transforms We close the conversation by unpacking 1 Corinthians 13—often quoted at weddings but originally written to a broken church. How can parents apply “love is patient, love is kind” to their parenting, especially with a child who's wandering? Mary offers insights on showing grace, patience, and kindness to our kids, and even to ourselves, on this journey. Key Takeaways Release control: God loves your child more than you do. Joy comes from Jesus, not perfect circumstances. Lament is a healthy, biblical response to grief. Trust God's timing and methods, even when they surprise you. Love your child and yourself with grace and patience. This episode is for every parent longing for hope in a hard season. Whether your child is questioning faith, making different choices, or simply testing boundaries, remember this: you are not alone, and Jesus is walking with you every step of the way. Remember this famous quote?“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country,” President John F. Kennedy during his inaugural address in 1961.As Christian men trying to raise godly boys, our mantra should be, “Ask not what God can do for me; ask what I can do for God.”It's natural for us to think about ourselves first and not what we can do for God and what we can give back to him, including our time, talents, and treasure. As the Bible says, you must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a cheerful giver.”For more information about a Proven Process that is helping boys grow into godly men, visit Trail Life USA or RaisingGodlyBoys.com.

"Union with Christ" is essentially "Christ in you" and "you in Christ." But it involves not only a union with Christ but a union with one another, with the body of Christ, fleshed out in the core of a Christian assembly. Louis Berkoff gives a good definition of union with Christ: it is the "intimate, vital, and spiritual connection between Christ and believers." M. Pete Johnson says "to be saved is to be united to the Savior." God saves us not just as individuals in union with himself but also to join us to his people. The Christian life cannot be lived in isolation from other believers. Rom. 12:5 says "we are members one of another." It is only in the local church that we can rub shoulders with fellow Christians and share our mutual life together. In Christ we are new men and women, but we are joined to other new men and women in the local assembly. We have all been washed of all our various sins by Jesus' blood. We have all been awakened from spiritual death to spiritual life by the Holy Spirit and brought into the same quality of fellowship with God and his people that the triune God has experienced in himself in all eternity. As Christian believers we are in union with Christ and the "new we" - the people of God, the body of Christ.

Send us a text by clicking this link! When a Catholic influencer like Voice of Reason falls from grace, what's the appropriate response from the faithful community? Anthony and Christian Wagner dive deep into the recent apology video from Alex Jurado (Voice of Reason) following his scandal, examining both the genuine moments of contrition and the troubling implications about his future plans. The hosts untangle the complex web of accountability, forgiveness, and prudence that these situations demand. They highlight a concerning pattern in many reactions – the tendency to equate forgiveness with immediate restoration to public ministry. This conversation isn't about condemning Alex but about honestly assessing whether someone who used their Catholic platform to manipulate women should return to a position of influence after just a month of reflection.Christian brings up the powerful parallel of Michael Voris, who rejected advice to step away from the camera after his own scandal, only to eventually relapse and lose everything. This cautionary tale demonstrates why true charity sometimes requires maintaining firm boundaries rather than enabling potentially harmful patterns. As Christian pointedly notes, "Supporting your friend means dragging them to heaven, not cheering them on as they sprint towards hell."The most enlightening moments come when the hosts discuss alternative paths forward – ways Alex could contribute to the Church without returning to the spotlight. Perhaps working behind the scenes, using his talents for writing or production, or even eventually helping others with similar struggles could provide meaningful service without the dangers of public ministry. What makes this episode particularly valuable is the balance the hosts strike between mercy and justice, between compassion for a fallen brother and protection of the vulnerable. If you've ever struggled with how Catholics should respond to scandals within our own ranks, this thoughtful discussion offers a framework that honors both our call to forgiveness and our responsibility to uphold truth.Support the show********************************************************Please subscribe! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKsxnv80ByFV4OGvt_kImjQ?sub_confirmation=1https://www.avoidingbabylon.comMerchandise: https://avoiding-babylon-shop.fourthwall.comLocals Community: https://avoidingbabylon.locals.comFull Premium/Locals Shows on Audio Podcast: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1987412/subscribeRSS Feed for Podcast Apps: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1987412.rssRumble: https://rumble.com/c/AvoidingBabylon
Revival Mom | Grow Deeper with God, Encourage children in the Lord, Christian Home
In this episode, I'm sharing a powerful message the Lord has been speaking to me about crossing the threshold into a new season of revival in our homes. As Christian moms and wives, we often carry so much—fear, comparison, control, or even old wounds that weigh us down. But God is saying it's time to let go, to surrender, and to step into the freedom, peace, and joy He has waiting for us. I'll walk you through part of a training I did inside Revival Mom Academy where we asked God five key questions to identify what He wants us to leave behind and what He's inviting us into. This is the kind of work that shifts atmospheres in our homes, brings breakthrough in marriage, and sets the stage for raising kids who truly know and love Jesus. Inside the episode, you'll hear: What it means to be at a spiritual threshold and how God is calling us to cross over. The specific questions to ask God so you can release what no longer belongs to you in this new season. A powerful testimony from one of my clients who was delivered from a lie she carried since childhood. How surrendering opens the door to revival in your home, healing in your body, and fresh spiritual authority. This is for you if you've been feeling stuck, weary, or weighed down. Mama, God has carved out a space specifically for you. You don't need to compete or compare—you just need to surrender and follow Him into this next season.

What if your investments could do more than grow your wealth? What if they could also fight injustice, uplift your neighbor, and even bring joy to the world? Joy probably isn't the first word that comes to mind when you think about investing, but maybe it should be. Robin John joins us today to share how investing can be more than financial—it can be deeply spiritual.Robin John is the CEO at Eventide Asset Management, LLC. Views expressed in this podcast are intended for information purposes and do not constitute investment advice. Eventide does not provide tax, accounting, or legal advice. Eventide's values-based approach to investing may not produce desired results and could result in underperformance compared with other investments. There is no guarantee that any investment will achieve its objectives, generate positive returns, or avoid losses.A Life-Changing Encounter in IndiaRobin was just 23 years old when his employer sent him to Pune, India, to support an outsourcing initiative. Although born in India, he had moved to the U.S. at the age of eight and was returning for the first time as a young professional. While staying in a guesthouse, he noticed two young men—Amal and Kamal—who took care of him daily, preparing meals and ironing his clothes. One evening, Robin asked where they slept and was shocked to learn they were sleeping on the hard floor of a hot, cramped pantry.“I had a beautiful air-conditioned room with extra space,” Robin recalled. “But they had no bed, no pillow, no blanket. And I looked just like them.”When he raised his concerns, he was told the guesthouse workers were not his company's responsibility. That response, though typical in business, left Robin deeply unsettled. It pushed him into prayer, fasting, and a season of searching. He began to ask: “Is business just about profit? Or could it be something more?”From Disillusionment to a Renewed MindThrough time in Romans 12—“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”—Robin experienced a major shift in perspective. He began to see that work, business, and investing could all be expressions of love for neighbor and tools for redemptive impact. That shift eventually led him, alongside his friend Dr. Finny Kuruvilla, to launch Eventide Asset Management—an investment firm with a bold mission: to invest in companies that make the world rejoice. What Makes a Company Worth Investing In?Eventide's approach centers on one key question: Is this company doing good? They look for companies whose products are truly good and whose practices serve others well—employees, customers, supply chains, communities, even the environment. Investing is a form of ownership, and when we invest, we are rooting for that company's success. But Eventide doesn't just embrace the good—it also avoids the harmful. In the book, Robin likens harmful companies to dragons that lurk outside the village in ancient stories, threatening human flourishing.Companies profiting from gambling, addiction, or exploitation—like sports betting platforms—may look appealing on a spreadsheet, but Robin challenges us to consider their deeper impact. As Christian investors, we must ask: What are we promoting in the world? Are we fighting the dragons, or feeding them?Cultivating Goodness, Like a GardenFrom the very beginning in Genesis 1, we see that we are called to cultivate, to build, to bring about flourishing. Business and investing can be part of that calling. From companies developing cancer treatments to those honoring their truck drivers by ensuring they can sleep at home with their families, these are the stories of modern cultivation, and they're the kinds of businesses Eventide champions.A Framework for Faith-Driven InvestingEventide's “Business 360” framework reflects biblical values and centers on love for neighbor. It seeks to:Avoid companies that cause harm.Embrace companies that promote human flourishing.Engage with companies to encourage positive change.Investors can explore two free tools at GoodInvestor.com:Portfolio Screening Tool – See how your current investments align with biblical values.Advisor Connection Tool – Get connected with a financial advisor who practices faith-aligned investing.Your Investments Can Honor GodRobin's hope for every reader of his new book, The Good Investor, is that they will walk away inspired, believing their investments can change the world and honor God in the process. You can purchase The Good Investor wherever books are sold. I recall you saying that it's the one you usually recommend. Can you remind me of the name?My wife and I are both chiropractors, but she's feeling called to stay home with our kids. There are three pairs of Unmercenary Physicians named Cosmas and Damian. The two commemorated today were brothers from Rome. Though they inherited great wealth, they gave most of it to the poor and needy, only setting aside enough for themselves to devote their lives to the service of Christ. As Christian physicians, they freely performed their healing services for men and for beasts, asking the healed only to believe in Christ in thanks for their healing. They ended their lives in martyrdom. According to the Prologue, they were summoned before the Emperor Galerius, who interrogated them and commanded them to worship the gods. The brothers refused to do so, but to show the truth of the Christian faith, they healed the Emperor of a grave infirmity. At this he proclaimed the truth of Christianity and released them. But a doctor and a former teacher who envied their reputation lured them into the countryside on the pretext of collecting herbs, then killed them.
