What do you do for work? Ah, the question we likely get asked wherever we go, especially in the networking world. Whether we like it or not, work is such a big part of our lives. Whatever or however you define it, work is something in which we end up spending a ton of our time and energy. But my question for you is, do you like your work? Does it light you up? Is it aligned with your values? Do you feel like you are on purpose? In this episode, I am talking to my real life accountability buddy, corporate maven and career coach Lynn Mull. Knowing Your Gifts

Never have a I ever thought I would be so comfortable and confident speaking in front of others. The truth is, I wasn’t always comfortable on a stage with a mic...let alone speaking in front of people in general Actually, I would avoid it at all costs. I would get so nervous that my hands and voice would visibly shake. The insecurity, uncertainty and disconnection within flowed out of me in situations like this {it was messy} But the more connection work I did -aka: knowing myself, trusting myself and giving myself permission to be imperfectly me- all that fear began to slip away I started showing up more. I spoke through the nerves. I let my voice shake. I survived the vulnerability hangovers. Sometimes we avoid or don’t honor our gifts because they are encased in fear. But that doesn’t mean we can’t crack it open and revive it. Now, nothing gives me more JOY than speaking, leading and facilitating. I feel most ME and most FREE doing this work. Funny how the one thing I feared was actually my gift. I just didn’t know it or harness it-but now I do. I honor it and share it because it’s not meant to be kept to myself. Knowing our gifts and sharing them is a key way for us to connect. If I ask you what your gifts are-would you be able to tell me right away or would you struggle? If you struggle to answer this question-tune into today's episode, I am digging into this topic more and giving you some tools to discover and OWN your gifts.

Are you a creative person? Did you just automatically say no? Well, friend, believe it or not, you are. In this episode, I have a connector conversation with artist and creativity coach, Jane Buresh where we are talking about the art of connection and how EVERYONE is creator. Creativity is one of the ultimate connectors. The art of connection is not only how we express ourselves externally but how we go within ourselves in order to extract our own inner guidance and create from that knowing. And it’s no lie, we love the woo to help us connect! Woo = tools that help you get out of your head and into your heart to better connect to yourself. Crystals, oracle cards, astrology-beautiful things that spark joy and connection. One of our (myself and the Her Turn Community) favorite woo tools are oracle card decks-especially Jane’s Life Sparks Cards! Jane talks in depth about the beautiful tools she has created (like for real hand painted) that weaves together creativity, art and intuition work that offer tangible practices to help you connect more deeply to yourself. Whether you walk into this episode feeling creative or not, you will leave feeling more curious about creating connection in your life in new ways and begin identifying new ways in which you actually are already creating in your life. Meet Jane Buresh Jane is a creativity and intuition coach. Combining her research and knowledge of healing and intuitive art practices, with soulful and practical coaching methods, Jane is able to guide clients from feeling lost, stuck or overwhelmed to a place of clarity, confidence and trust in themselves and their path. Her coaching process guides clients toward their creative dreams and their own inner guidance using creative and tangible tools to help them through the emotional and mental blocks that can stand in the way. Jane works with creative women stuck on the edge of great change, searching for answers and guidance. Women seeking something bigger in their lives, a clear path forward or a direct line to the place within themselves that already has the answers, and clients willing to explore beyond what they already consciously know. Jane helps clients to reprogram negative thoughts, manage overwhelming emotions and live guided by their own voice and intuition so they can take make those leaps forward trusting they have the tools to guide them. Face It Till You Make It

Alright friends, I am about to call some BS on a common phrase and word of advice-Fake it till you make. In this episode, I am calling out this sentiment that spins illusions and bypasses your lived experience and calling in a new one that fosters connection, trust and your personal power to design a life on your own terms. Fake it till you make it… Creates an illusion and a false sense of connection It’s inauthentic and creates distrust Removes self responsibility and accountability Ignores the natural feelings that may arise Dismisses your strength and personal power While we are at it, let’s call out another saying that needs to go: Faith it till you make. Faith it till you make it… Inserts blind trust Disconnects from the work Desensitizes your feelings Pivots you away from the opportunity to take action Here’s what I propose: Face it till you make it. Face it till you make it… Is a radical act of self love because you are showing up regardless and forging ahead Encourages you to show up for yourself DESPITE the doubt Acknowledges that you may not have all the answers, confidence or outcomes but you are showing up with an openness and willingness to get there. Builds trust, acceptance and courage through your relentless and consistent pursuit Requires imperfect action What are you currently faking it till you make it in your life? What can you start facing till you make it?

Why You Need to Show Up

If you’re going to hang here with me there’s something you should know... Personal growth can have two paths: the comfortable smooth surface or the rugged transformational terrain.  If you want to skim the surface and stay in that warm, cozy space of a comfort zone then by all means, do you. But just so you know, that’s not this space. In today's episode, I am getting real about showing up AND showing out. I'm going to challenge you to get real with yourself about looking within about how you are showing up for yourself and how you are not showing up for yourself.  Can you take radical responsibility, stop bybassing your feels and starting choosing courage over comfort?  Hell yes it’s messy and hard but it’s also beautiful and real. It’s living fully alive. It’s being human. I know it feels good to slide on a sleek surface of good vibes only and living your best life. I wish I could hang out there all day too.  But I know if I really want to be the best and most authentic version of me, I have to show up and do the work.  And the work isn’t always what people want to do or doesn’t always look the way we hope. But if we deny the realness of personal growth then we deny our humanness. When you take the rugged terrain of transformation it may be below the surface but the views are way better and some pretty cool shit happens.  Because the more you show up for yourself, the more you are able to show up for others.

In today’s episode, I am going to drop some major truth in the name of boundaries, self care and personal responsibility.   Around this time of year we gather with family and see many people from different chapters of our lives. Whether it's a random run in with your old high school chemistry lab partner at Target or reaching for the same cookie as your aunt at the family party, you may get asked the following questions:   How’s work? Who are you dating? Where’s the ring? When are you having kids? Have you bought a house yet? How’s that “project” going?   If these or any other questions causes you to feel like the other person feels owed an answer, they expect an explanation or they are ready to project their pity, guilt or own insecurity bullshit onto you-you're left with a choice: you can choose to engage and likely fall down an Alice in Wonderland kinda rabbit hole of fear (hi, been there, done that) OR you can choose not to explain yourself.
