We spoke with Eileen on Late Lunch about her situation as she began treatment in January 2019 and this incredible woman joined us subsequently from time to time to speak about the highs and lows of her cancer journey.     Early on the morning of Sunday November 1st 2020, a young mother stood on the Castlebellingham Flyover on the M1 Motorway about to jump. Bronwyn McLoughlin happened to be passing, stopped, intervened, saved her life but slipped away quietly as assistance and family members arrived on the scene. Receiving help subsequently and now feeling much better, she was desperate to make contact with the woman who she describes as her “Angel”. She called into LMFM looking to speak with Late Lunch Presenter Gerry Kelly which she did on the afternoon of Friday December 11th, hoping the woman in question would come forward. Over the weekend Bronwyn heard the podcast of the interview, contacted Gerry on Monday morning, also willing to come on air that afternoon and share her side of the story. The woman she saved also returned and the pair spoke for the first time since that fateful day six weeks previously, in a radio moment that will live long in the memory.
