Cory is the Managing Partner of Mergence Global a boutique consultancy specializing in cyber problem solving. He graduated with a Master of Technology Management from Georgetown University and a TRIUM Global Executive MBA alum from Oglethorpe.Cory helps drive technology innovation with start ups and manages over $1 billion for acquisitions. Cory and I share a birthday of August 21st and told about how that brought us together while running for office, the experience of doing so and the aftermath of losing hard fought races. Cory ran for Atlanta City Council Post 2 Seat At Large in 2017 so we discussed his platform of improving early childhood education the cities future scholars. We get pretty political diving into Cory’s relationship with Governor Brian Kemp, hosting political cocktail parties (on our bday), current council members, elected officials and the legalization of marijuana and psilocybin in Georgia. We dive deep into the ongoing threats of cyber security and the need to teach our youth from K-12 and on about internet privacy. We express our concerns with Atlanta being the most video surveyed city in the world behind China and London. @MatteoValles is a Georgia Tech graduate, ultra marathon runner, Top 50 “Most Beautiful Atlantans” by Jezebel, Bachelorette contestant and founder of Grove, a new virtual reality support group community which aims to help Atlantans and beyond “to create, find and join support groups for topics like alcoholism, depression, loss of a loved one, and more.” We talk about Matteo changing schools every three years of his life until college as his father worked for the FBI and mother for the US State Department. We discuss his mechanical engineering degree, working at Deloitte, leaving after 2 years, being on TV and creating a successful kickstarter campaign for a new digital niche. He and his brother Domenic created Grove to provide easily accessible treatment from the comfort of your home that’s lead like an AA meeting where all participants are equal and anonymous. He’s moving to Knoxville, TN next month for a business consulting position while he looks to launch his startup in February. They’ve raised over $16,000 for the project.
