Listen in to find out about the goat. note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. From a three-legged goat to someone killing off people and making an author look suspicious, what more can you expect??? Add in a heroine who not only writes as a man BUT... is determined to stop Cincinnatti's corruption, well... SOLD! Take my money! Written in Secret by Crystal Caudill What happens when fiction becomes reality? In the corruption-infested Queen City, danger lurks in every shadow, but Lydia Pelton refuses to stay silent. She writes under a pseudonym, E. A. Dupin, crafting crime novels to exact justice and right the wrongs she sees in society. When a serial killer decides to be the sword to her pen, Lydia is confronted with the consequences of her words. Four men are dead, and the city blames her. With murders on the rise, Officer Abraham Hall's only lead is Lydia's fiction, and he is thrust into an investigation with the "Killer Queen of Romance." Despite his misgivings about the woman, he realizes that even with his reputation for catching elusive criminals, he needs her help. But his unexpected attraction to Lydia proves as difficult to manage as the woman herself. As the mystery unfolds, Abraham and Lydia race to rewrite the ending, not only for Cincinnati's citizens, but for their own hearts too. The guys drove straight from Chicago to the studio in Louisville for this episode, and got there just minutes before going live on WXOX. They're exhausted but happy after a whirlwind Midwestern soul weekend as guest DJs at the Queen City Soul Club in Cincinnati, then attendees at the Heart of Chicago Soul Club at the famous Hideout in Chicago. They got a lot of record digging and trading in too, but you'll have to wait until next week to hear most of those finds, as this show was put together out of their playboxes from their night at Queen City. It should be labeled a "derby" by all definitions. The distance between the Music City and Queen City remains quite drivable. However, the average FC Cincinnati fan and average Nashville SC fan probably wouldn't admit that the other is a rival. There's still no solid point of contention between both squads. The trend in both squads to start the season may indicate a much closer rivalry in 2025. While the Orange & Blue have started lukewarm, the "Boys in Gold" to the south are on a hot streak. For three years, fans of FC Cincinnati and Charlotte FC have disputed which is the true "Queen City". However, that may be where the differences end. Head-to-head results have not resolved anything—both teams have two wins over the other, and both have retooled their attacks and fortified their defenses in order to challenge the beasts of the East. We know of the big addition of Wilfried Zaha atop the attack, but how else has head coach Dean Smith polished the Crown? Can the defense replicate their conference-best performance from 2024?
