What’s the most frightening scenario you’ve ever faced? And were you prepared for what came next? Few of us have ever sat on the edge of a plane above Mount Everest about to jump out when the sh*t has hit the fan (spoiler - that isn’t what went wrong). Holly is a powerhouse. She holds 2 World Records, an Everest Summiteer and the first woman to skydive Everest. She’s raced over 1000km across Mongolia on semi wild horses. But that was only the start of her adventures, she’s the first guest I’ve spoken to where adventure has led her onto a path of animal conservation, a cause very close to my heart. Holly founded the charity How Many Elephants whilst studying for a Masters in Sustainable Design back in 2013. This charity champions and supports female rangers on the front line, through funding anti-poaching, educational and community-orientated projects. These women are, quite frankly, AWESOME, and along with the charity are helping to save Africa and South Africa’s endangered rhinos and elephants. Holly’s passion, purpose and self belief is contagious. In this interview we find out how 60 seconds of adrenaline can change your life forever and how you can turn fear into action - helping you become the change you want to see in the world. "I didn't grow up sailing, I didn't grow up climbing mountains, I didn't have anyone take me by the hand and lead me into those things. At one point in my life, much later in life, I made a choice and figured out a way to accomplish those things." Sara Hastreiter is a globe-exploring, international adventuring sailor and climber. It's Sara's goal to be the first woman ever to sail all 7 seas, and climb to the highest summits of the world's 7 continents. This feat would also see Sara become the first person in history to have competed in the Volvo Ocean Race (the 'Everest of Sailing'), and climbed Everest itself. During her career as a professional sailor, Sara has sailed the equivalent of 5 laps of the planet, and has no signs of slowing down. There really is something for everyone in this interview. She’s inspiring in a no nonsense way.

Sandra is an explorer, adventurer, ocean racing sailor and she’s on track for a 3rd visit to Antarctica next year. On her last visit to the hostile continent she led an all female team who summited two previously unconquered peaks in order to raise awareness about women whose lives have been, and will be, impacted by climate change. She manages all of this alongside a full-time job.   Sandra Marichal = badass.   In this interview we talk shewees, her mission, and how she makes her life work.

7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days.   In 2019 Susannah Gill not only completed the gruelling World Marathon Challenge, she was the fastest female athlete, setting a new world record running the 295km (183 miles) in 24 hours 19 minutes and 9 secs. Wowser!   As part of My Adventure Series, where I talk to ordinary women who achieve extraordinary feats by pushing themselves out of their comfort zone to see what they are capable of, I absolutely loved chatting with Susannah. She's full of grit, humility and pragmatic advice for anyone trying to achieve something they have no clue if they are capable of.   Fundamentally she reminds us that we can all be amazing, you just have to choose what you want to be amazing at.       More info: Social media: @TheIronLadyRuns www.wecanbeamazing.com

I first met Chrissie Jackson, a photographer from Newquay, when we shared the experience of sailing from Australia to China on the Clipper Race. We caught up recently, and here's her story about how she's using adventure to make the scary less scary, it's inspirational and I think we could all learn a lot from being more like Chrissie.
