Hey nerd, we know you're bored. So watch our real-play Dungeons & Dragons podcast that releases episodes every Friday at noon. Join us for epic studipidity as our heroes journey across fantastical lands, battling monsters, villains, and each other????? Me
This is Part 2 of our two part finale. Thank you to everyone that has listened and joined us throughout this journey. The Forest Fires conclude their journey by taking the fight inside, as Mary unveils the true nature of the Agent Orange.
As the resistance starts the attack on Agent Orange, an old foe makes herself known again. Irene hits many wild magic surges, even turning her into a potted plant at one point. Realizing she's losing, Mary Forest tries to flee, but the Forest Fires are adamant on making her burn here and now. Irene's Mom, trying to help Mary, joins the fight, and a brief moment of vulnerability enters Irene. During this distraction, Mary escapes the Forest Fires and flees into the warehouse.
Following the battle in the mansion, the gang rests, and Irene's mom escapes. Knowing that this is drawing to a close, the Forest Fires decide on a controlled burn. They stake out the Agent Orange base and get some help from an interesting character. Back at the storefront, Barda flips the game on Giant as Irene preps the resistance for battle.
If you thought I was going to be nice, you're damn wrong. Immediately after getting into the manor, the Forest Fires find themselves locked in combat with some very familiar faces.
As the Forest Fires come out of the Feywild, they encounter a new enemy: one that seems a little bit upgraded. A fierce battle ensues, while some magical finagling occurs from Irene. Eventually, everyone gets some scoopables, and the Forest Fires are off to the Maker's Mansion to see what's in store.
With a little bit of time before heading back to Styrna, the gang splits up in A'mor. Irene gets a tattoo. Absinthe and MG gamble names away with some hokey pixies (and in the process defeat Morobone). Giant decides to be an economics professor for a little bit. The gang finishes out their time in the Feywild by grabbing some papayas, and they finally return to a new world.
The Forest Fires meet with the Mystics of A'mor. While there, Absinthe tries to get her wings back and has a disastrous confrontation. And the Forest Fires learn not all is well between the Mystics.
After journeying into the Feywild, the Forest Fires start their journey to A'mor, the home of the sacred Mystics. Along the way, they contemplate what to do about the AJ and what their goals are back in Styrna. They also get another glimpse into the Maker's backstory. Also, Bar(th)a starts to fight back at Bartha's Shop for Nothing, Never Stocked, No-Good Deals for Dungeoneers that Die.
Back in Styrna, the Forest Fires split up and get to work. Absinthe goes to check on the nun, MG revisits Cas and his home, and Irene sees the true extent of the revolution. Giant takes a drastic measure to try to help. Irene confesses almost everything.
Their time in Carendon finally done, the Forest Fires make their way back to Styrna. On the way back, a new connections form and an old foe returns? As the Forest Fires say good bye to K'raen and Cylas, a new mission approaches them back in Styrna, one that should have them colored orange... fuck I meant yellow.
As a pirate-genre enthusiast, I could not, in good conscience, let our pirate storyline end without a battle against one of the most famous monsters of the deep. So, relax, listen to this episode, and RELEASE THE KRAKEN!
What does every long-form narrative need to have? A fun little beach episode! Join the Forest Fires as they discover a little community near the Pumpkin Inn and a festival of wacky characters! They play volleyball, have flex-offs with lifeguards, and race boats! Also, Roger goes a LITTLE murder happy!
Time for a fancy dinner, with the unfanciest of guests. Khunnitar reveals more about his character, while the Lady Chandreth tries to mediate. The sexual tension rises between K'raen and Cylas, which immediately fizzles out when the castle gets invaded. As our characters escape, they flee to the beach and stay the night at an inn. But THE MOST GODDAMN IMPORTANT PART OF THE EPISODE IS THAT WE FINALLY GOT A NAME FOR OUR GROUP: ENTER The Forest Fires.
The gang is brought before the Emperor of Carendon, Emperor Khunnitar. Immediately, no one likes him... maybe it's because Alex went to hard with the sadism? Irene and Giant also end up doing some research, Absinthe fully removes her wings with the help of the Lady Chandreth, and MG goes to a the doctor. K'raen also ends up talking to the Lady Chandreth before the rest of the gang comes together to talk about what to do with Khunnitar.
Following the battle on the open ocean, festivities are thrown on the boat celebrating the victory and the addition of the new crewmate. Meanwhile, Giant considers her options after attacking Absinthe. The festivities continue until landing in Carendon, where the party split up to run some errands... and reconnect with an old friend?
As battle ensues on the open sea, our players come face to face with a group of mercenaries. Irene gets over her fear of water and Absinthe decides to wild shape. Upon further investigation, it seems like they were sent by Emperor Khunnitar himself to kill K'raen and his crew. As they speed over the waves, a question settles in: are they heading toward friend... or foe?
After failing to rig the election, the gang decides to rig some sails. Enter a new character, and guest star, K'raen Stormcleff, captain of the Painted Lady played by the ever-wonderful Grace. As the gang gets used to their new sea legs, they meet the wacky crew of the ship. MG decides to talk to the figurehead of the ship, Irene and Absinthe come up with a buddy system, and Giant gets better acquainted with K'raen as they all sail off to a new continent.
Time for an election and a fight, and all the hard hitters are going to be there. Even if their candidate didn't win the popular vote, these guards start to pop Giant and MG on their asses. Meanwhile, in the basement of it all, Absinthe and Irene set out to help the faeries, and a newly mind-wiped Omar, escape from the complex. It all comes to a head as the our favorite dragon makes a surprise appearance and rips our characters a new one.
What're the two things you should never bring up at the dinner table? Crime and politics... so we decided to just bring up both. In this one, Absinthe is a little ball of angst that tries to use religion as a way to cope. MG becomes politically involved alongside his father. Also, Giant becomes gOtH and eDgY like all good gloom stalkers. I mean, it's definitely a fun episode that everyone should listen to, so have fun with it for sure!
Alright mothers and fuckers, it's time for another episode of On A Roll. This week, Absinthe manages to piss off maybe every character in the episode. Also, Giant refuses to cooperate with Haplorin (shocker, I know), Irene is honestly unproblematic, and MG is the himbo we know and love. Get ready for math, lore, and Morobone????
What's a classic Dungeons and Dragons campaign without a classic dungeon crawl?? As MG, Absinthe, Irene, and Giant get thrown into a crypt of Alex's own making, a question looms over them: will they make it out alive? The answer of course depends on who you ask! If you ask any other players, it's an undoubted yes (because they think they have plot armor to protect them). If you ask Alex, well the answer depends. Treasure, monsters, and wacky interactions galore go on in Haplorin's Tomb. Follow along with our friends by checking out our instagram @on_a_roll_cast where you can see fanart, reels, and photos of the most of the things we reference in-game!
It's a battle episode. After the really cool thing that I did last episode (split up the party), I decided to just beat the everloving shit out of my players. Did Giant fuck up with agreeing to a bet with a God? Most certainly. Do I force Giant to lose the bet? Also, certainly. Listen to this episode for the closest thing we'll get to a TPK. But that's not all! Because there's also LORE!!!! So yeah, it's like your standard episode of a DnD podcast. Have fun!
The crew is back with another batshit crazy adventure. After getting to a cavern that for some reason speaks to Giant, they decide "Let's go in! Why the hell not?" They start to explore this cavern, all the while it seems to dwell on them that they are in an ancient tomb to something, as a powerful magic tries to charm them. Eventually, charm them it does as these morons have to face one of the greatest evils of the modern world... philosophy. Stop on by and listen to a great episode of magic, lore, identity, and what it means to have connections and be "good".
Giant and Absinthe have very different revelations during their long rests. The gang finds some hot hashbrowns and attends a war council. Then, they make it to a secret desert fortress, where all they do is annoy their DM about how spells and stealth checks work... it's frankly very tiring. Sometimes I wish they would just understand the rules more, like, this is a podcast people, don't you know anything??? Oh shit, have I been typing this out? Fuck. Anyway, they journey through the fortress to a dig site where they meet a very nice and funny NPC that I immediately take away as part of their sins. It's a great episode!
The group rushes to defend the Outlanders' camp from Agent Orange, but little do they know that Agent Orange has a little trick up their sleeve. Also, Irene and Absinthe unlock third level spells... which promptly makes Alex freak the fuck out because of the amount of damage the spells do.
Giant, Irene, Absinthe, and MG meet Arkos Mintano, a fierce nomadic fighter from the desert. They must accompany him to face the growing threat of an ever expanding Agent Orange fortress. But first, let's stock up at Barda's Shop for Everything Everywhere Anytime You Might Need Something For A Trip You Did Not See Coming But Is Now Here (full name still pending)! As our heroes journey into the desert, they will get a creeping feeling... like they aren't alone in the sandstormy desert. Maybe a certain Morobone is out there.
Our heroes continue their day in the city of Styrna. As they deal with the repercussions of the events of last week, hidden truths come to light, a dark side is revealed, and Irene's father turns out to be a DILF. Tune into today's episode to watch Absinthe and Giant threaten a goblin, Irene's big secret revealed, and MG take the Winspares to lunch. Just a normal day in Styrna!
In their return to Styrna, our heroes face something even more dangerous than a jungle deity... socializing with people. Absinthe and the AJ have their fateful meet in the Maker, while MG goes to visit his father at the Purple Sea. Giant and Irene meet with a very mysterious woman... and also Mary Forest. With their worlds expanding, who knows what our heroes will do next, and who knows who they'll meet.
Tune in for an interesting battle episode... a battle of burns! This episode, listen as our four heroes take on a god by severely roasting him. Do they care that the fate of the natural order of the world rests on their shoulders? No... no they do not. Absinthe becomes a nihilist, Giant develops a sweet side, MG is the Prince of Denmark, and Irene DEFINITELY knows what she's doing, so tune in, have some fun, and enjoy some roasts.
Our adventurers travel out of the city for the first time and into the Kunaya Jungle. There, they find new magics, encounter revealing visions, and explore a new temple, which may just hold dark secrets. Welcome to the jungle! Also, a slight content warning. While in the jungle, some of our players are exposed to very traumatic experiences, and, as a result, one of the players tries to commit suicide by jumping off a high point. While it doesn't kill them (because of fall damage mechanics in D&D), we felt as though it was our responsibility to forewarn our listeners of this event. It occurs from timestamp 55:45 - 56:20, so please, if you feel the need to, skip this part and rejoin us after this event. Our heroes split up to explore the vast city of Styrna. MG finds hidden secrets that everyone DEFINITELY knows about..., Absinthe returns home to a makeover, and Giant and Irene become the best worst spies. Also, Irene obviously fucked Mary Forest, right?
Our heroes try to negotiate the terms of their employment with the Maker. On the way, they get gifts and develop trust issues. Also, how many innuendos do you think we can fit into an episode taking place in a ball pit? Tune in to find out!
Our heroes are given their first quest by the Maker, with very explicit instructions to not make a scene and get in and out as fast as possible. So what do they do? Completely disregard those instructions. Tune in for some more hotness checks, Absinthe trying to find a spouse, Irene getting a psychic call, and see why it's called "Burning Down the House".
After being arrested, a little birdie takes our heroes to a mansion of unknown wonders. Meet the Maker: old as shit and gnome as fuck (and a proud writer of his own ten-volume autobiography). Our heroes learn secrets about their world, their life, and... Morowbone? Only one question remains: Is the Maker ACTUALLY Giant's dad?
Our heroes find themselves locked up and thrown in the back of a prison cart. What will they do? Will they work together to break out? Of course not. Secrets are divulged, and backstories are revealed in this episode of On A Roll. Also, what's fun if not a little bird man to break you out of jail... and then stab you in the thighs with two daggers?
Battle ensues outside of the chapel! Irene, MG, Giant, and Absinthe find themselves facing off against dangerous(ly attractive) foes. Join our heroes as their collision causes utter chaos.
Meet MG Metawick, Giant Kindhurt, Irene Winspare, and Absinthe the Fairy as fates collide and find themselves wrapped up in something far bigger than they ever could have imagined.
Hello and welcome to On A Roll: A D&D Podcast. This is a short introductory episode to what you can expect of our show! You don't need to listen to this in order to listen to the rest of the podcast, but if you want a sense of who we are and what we are doing, you are welcome to enjoy!
