Is belief the same as faith?Matthew 17:20: "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will beimpossible for you." This verse beautifully bridges belief and faith, showing how even a tiny spark of trust can grow into something powerful.March 30, 2025Denver Community Church
Philippians2:12-13Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now,not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your ownsalvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to willand to work for his good pleasure.Today we're going to look into scripture to explore the topic of works and faith. There can be confusion around the topic of good works among Christians. Jesus' salvation is a gift of grace that He doesn't expect us to earn through our performance. That said, what we do still matters.March 23, 2025Denver Community Church
Matthew22:1-14The Invitation You're Invited! We've probably all received an invitation to something at one time oranother; a birthday, graduation, wedding. Usually we're asked to RSVP as a key component to throwing a great partyis knowing who will be coming. The parable in Matthew illustrates the invitation we have been given. An invitation to Heaven. God has extended thisinvitation to us through his son Jesus. We respond to this invitation by believing, and being ready by dressing appropriately, preparing for our ultimate destination.March 9, 2025Denver Community Church

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful. It is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way. It is not irritable or resentful. It does not rejoice in the wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all thing, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.Denver Community ChurchFebruary 9, 2025
Despite its prevalence in our lives, it seems that many of us have a mistaken view of forgiveness and its impact, not only spiritually and emotionally, but also physically. In fact, according to John Hopkins Medicine, forgiveness has a huge impact on your health: “Whether it's a simple spat with your spouse or long-held resentment toward a family member or friend, unresolved conflict can go deeper than you may realize—it may be affecting your physical health. The good news: Studies have found that the act of forgiveness can reap huge rewards for your health, lowering the risk of heart attack; improving cholesterol levels and sleep; and reducing pain, blood pressure, and levels of anxiety, depression and stress. And research points to an increase in the forgiveness-health connection as you age.” Denver Community Church February 2, 2025
God often chooses the most unlikely so there is no mistaking that God is the one at work. Divine salvation advances because unlikely characters say yes to grace. Denver Community Church January 25, 2025
Do you know that God has a plan for you? Jeremiah 29:11 says: "I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." As we look into the new year; setting goals, and making resolutions, consider what possibilities God may have in store for you! 1/12/2025 Denver Community Church Denver, MO
The last of our December sermon series. A dive into the mysteries of the Wise Men from the East who made the journey to visit the newborn King.
The third Sunday of advent 2025 is Joy! From the Shepherds in the fields to our hearts today, God shows us the power and reward of being Joyful!
Our second Sunday of Advent 2025 is Peace. Peace is not only a state of being, or absence of conflict. Peace is an obligation. Joseph led by example as a peacemaker.
Our first Sunday of Advent December 2024 is Hope. The story of Christmas is usually soft, quiet, and peaceful. The true story of the coming of Christ was none of those things. It was shocking, hard, perilous, and culturally disruptive. They were waiting for a Messiah then because they believed the prophets. What most people don't know is there are even more prophecies of Christ coming again. Believe and Be Ready.

As a guest speaker at Denver Community Church in Denver, MO, I have the privilege to bring the message of Love and Preparation on the 2nd Sunday of Advent. As God first loved us, we show our love for Him by anticipating His coming again. In our anticipation, we prepare to meet him when he comes to take us home. Scripture tells us we don't know when that will be, but promises surely that he will and that we should be ready.
