Red Wing Police Department Assistant Chief, Brian Metling, chats about National Police Week & remembering Red Wing's fallen officers, Chief James Daily and Officer John Peterson. Chief Daily and Officer Peterson were shot and subsequently died from their injuries in 1907. The officers were shot while responding to a mental health call at the Sibley Hotel, now the site of Gernentz Auto. In collaboration with Greg Gernentz, a memorial plaque is now displayed at Gernentz Auto. The public is invited to a dedication ceremony on site on Thursday at noon. We talk about the upcoming Bike Rodeo as well.
